@@Oneiroclast There were actual performances in the soundtrack, yes, but not on all tracks. You can clearly tell the difference between the synth guitar here and the real guitar on "Next Step Toward the Unknown".

Last time Falcom asked for Zanmai album ideas was in a Eurogamer interview that got raided by trolls, meaning I was the only one who commented about them. President Kondo and jdk have considered doing more than just the three published a few years back, but I'd expect a jdk Band Super Arrange before new Zanmai.
Ys8 super arrange is going to be released on May 2019, except without this track being rearranged whelp we have sunshine coastline rearranged so I'm satisfied
Actually Celceta's music was much inferior in comparison to Ys 7. Ys8 is definitely an improvement from the previous titles. Just my opinion, battle themes in 7 was so catch I could listen to it over and over, and the only track I could fault is the fire dragon den theme. Celceta had a promising trailer soundtrack but the rest wasn't that memorable :S
well that's cause most of the music in celceta were remixes of dawn of ys and mask of the sun which had good music,but were the least memorable in the ys series.
lol, The melodies from Ys IV are some of the series's best. A lot of original Ys IV music wasn't even remixed for Celceta, leaving the remake with less old and new music than Dawn of Ys. You can tell the game was rushed in areas. Ys VIII already seems a lot more full.

It is an actual performance. Akihiro Goto and Terukazu Inoue are credited as the guitarists on the OST.
