Queen - Bijou (Official Lyric Video)

Usually in a (rock) song, somewhere in the middle the singing is interrupted by a guitar solo. But here the guitar solo IS the song, and somewhere in the middle it is interrupted by singing.
umm Pink Floyd?
@@zeinm.7391 Freddie was inspired by them for this song
Loved that remark.
Wiki: ...The idea was not new and already used by Yes on their song "Soon". May later credited Jeff Beck's 1989 song "Where Were You" as the inspiration for "Bijou."...
That's by intention
Just when you think that Brian can't break your heart any more with that guitar, then Freddie comes in in the middle and breaks it some more with those lyrics....
Exactly.
Oh goodness Yes!
mickeyscratcher outstanding comment.
Yo amo esta hermosa canción freddie por siempre
@Stella Victoria Ojala Brian breaks your heart then Freddie stabs the other halves into nothingness with those lyrics in a fantastic way
One of the greatest guitar solos of all time. Why? Because of the way Brian May extracts such a huge amount of emotion from each simple note.
Incredible guitarist.
Brian huis music is beautyful ❤️
1wibble2 Truly incredible.
Yep
ive cried at his work. im 32 and a big bloke, considered tough as old boots. Im not ashamed to admit it. Jesus, what talent.
Innuendo is one of their best albums, because it's all for Freddie's life , heartbreaking

It really is a gem of an album. I like how all the songs have their different power.
Freddie sings only 48 seconds on this track, but the melody is so beautiful i legit cried. I wasnt teary eyed, I cried. Never ever will any band ever be able to recreate what Queen has done.
It's because Freddie and Brian were very strict with the product that they put out unlike a lot of bands.

Completely true.
Absolutely one of my favourite Queen cuts. Not enough people know this brilliant gem

I know it, its wonderful❤
Para mí tbn es la mejor canción de QUEEN ❤
This is why Brian May is the best. Simply stunning, the playing, the timing, everything, even the pauses between the notes are perfect. Hardly anyone knows this song but everyone should. There are probably thousands of guitarists who can play "better" than Brian (i.e. quicker/more technical) but in my opinion there's no-one better and this song is a perfect example of this
Its so clean and pure ... like his emotions pouring out unfiltered
And that is why he is the best Guitarist of all time! I don't care what you say about Jimmy Page or Slash or anyone else, Dr. Brian will always be the best guitarist in the history of music for me. Speed and techniques aren't everything. In no way does being fast count as being best.
@@sasmitroy5480 totally agree
I agree Brian is the best. He puts his emotions into his playing - music comes from his heart and soul, through those magic fingers, into his guitar (which he once referred to as an extension of his arm). No one expresses it better!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Come on, lads. You don't have to be an astrophysicist to play this.
Wait...
I wasn't genuinely assessing the difficulty of the song, I don't really know anything about guitars.
Ironically enough however, I just bought one a week or so ago. Though I plan to learn with an actual teacher, from the practice I've already done through the internet I'm aware of the "muting the strings constantly" struggle. I played guitar for 3 years or so when I was young, so though I forgot everything - it's good to know I'll get over it. It's also nice to know that this is a beginner suitable song.
@@a.maskil9073 Tapping is super fucking hard it's not a beginner song, all right it's slow and all, but the tapping and some of those bends are quite hard...

1:00 For some reason that picture always breaks my heart. The way John , Brian and Roger all joke around and are smiling , but not Freddie . He seems so serious and sad at the same time . Maybe it's all part of the joke , but for me it's realy sad , plus the music . It realy breaks my heart.
HE knew he was dying and he showed it in pics but not In singing he was fantastic, his best vocals can be seen all throughout the album
Life was already coming out of him, and that's very sad.
that look in his eyes is the look of a man who knows he is dying.
It's true 😭😭😭😭😭
He looks disconnected from the others
The Red Special in this song is like Freddie was transformed into a guitar.

The most emotional guitar part in history of music... Brian May is one of the greatest guitarists on the Earth.
This song has always made me cry by the sheer beauty and sound of the guitar, which almost sings a song on it's own. Brian May, one of the best guitarists on the planet.
Diane Moffat he is the best, this tune prooves that
Diane Moffat , did u feel SHEEEEEEEEEER HEART ATTACK?!
Yeah, there's a really distinctive sound to all of Queen's songs (well, outside of Freddie's voice obviously lol...I mean the musical "sound") and I realize the guitar is really what does it.
This has made me cry as well
Brian May outdid himself on this track. No one could play a guitar with more emotion than him! It's so exquisitely beautiful, haunting and somber all at the same time. I hear the anguish with each note, each riff and cord. Then Freddie's vocals come in and you can feel & hear the heartache and the sadness. The lyrics make sense knowing this song was a collaboration between Brian and Freddie. While all of the band members were close, i think Freddie and Brian balanced each other beautifully with Freddie's vocals and Brian's guitar playing. To know you are going to lose that after 20 years is beyond heartbreaking and you can hear it in this song. :(
Very well said and I agree. They both blended so well together when they played. I always believe they're friendship was really genuine.
Nothing more to add...
Mesmerizing....my Love...
Only Brian and Dave Gilmour can play with so much emotion
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
very few guitarist can make a guitar sing but Brian May is one of the few who can - totally fab song
Not to compare the two, but Matthew Bellamy can do it too. Very rare skill.
Try Cromok
As this song played, my uncle was carried away in his coffin. My grandma cried, my mom cried, everyone cried. Now, some years later, this song still gives me the chills and I can’t get through without crying💔
Best wishes for you and your family! 😔
I’m sorry for your loss.

@@robertdaloia1048i’m wanting more comedic funeral probably, another one bites the dust for when my coffins being carried in. might end it with something emotional but hey i’ve hopefully got time to figure it out
In this song Brian and his guitar sound as if they are weeping and wailing the loss of their 'band brother'. It tears me up every time I hear it. It is one of the most beautiful pieces Brian ever played.
I have always thought that it sounds like his Red Special is crying ❤️
This is truly a masterpiece. One of the best guitar playing I've heard in my entire life
Chills. Brian’s guitar voice and Freddie’s vocals just beautiful and haunting. It’s out of this world.
I don't know any other guitar solo on the planet that can have as much emotion and impact as what bijou is. The backstory with the song makes it all the more better, simply incredible.
Every guitar solo of Brian May has emotion....Every single one
Hugh Jones yea it’s been 2 years since this, I’ve listened to a whole lot more prog now. I’d recommend Porcupine Tree if u haven’t heard/ checked them out, really cool stuff
He (Brian) plays like an angel!!!
More like a god
The guitar is Brian’s voice and what a beautiful sound. Freddie’s vocals are soulful and I want the music to never end. Too short, I want more.
This is about how much the Queen love each other. Brian played his heart out
with his guitar--you can hear the agony of their impending loss of FM. And FM
assuring them what they feel for each other will be forever--LOVE. Now you can CRY.

Brian plays so beautifully...♡ So much emotins in this song... It sounds like The red special is crying.
Dear, talented Brian. We wouldn't have any of these beautiful guitar performances without you. I'm so glad you were born!!!!!
This song is haunting, sad and incredibly beautiful :)
Very true
"Don't bother coming, cause he's gone" Peter Freestone to Roger Taylor, minutes after Freddie passes.

I'm crying THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL and Brian OMG Brian is a legend . And Freddie LOVE QUEEN
Stefanie Radutu if someone so young as you like this music, it means, there is a real message in it. I was the same like you, when I first listen to this album in 1992. It still remains my favourite of all time. I even have an unseen roll from camera where Freddie makes poses for clip I’m going slightly mad. It is on 35mm film, so I can’t play it. Yes I was crazy about this album many years.
Sad to hear Jeff Beck passed away January 10th, 2023. I watched Brian remember him in a video just now and he said to listen to Where Were You from Jeff Beck and I did. Well, I can clearly see the inspiration Brian had when he wrote Bijou on the Innuendo album from 1991. Both pieces of music are just stunning, I am glad Brian chose to write that track with Freddie doing that gorgeous vocal. So now Jeff joins Freddie and so many of our rock n roll legends. Mercifully rock n roll will NEVER die but sadly the masters that make all that beautiful music do. I used to think I was born in the wrong era. thankfully I wasn't . I grew up in the time of Rock N Roll !!! Thank You Jeff Beck, Brian May, Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor and ALL the Rock n Roll greats !!!! PLAY ON !!!!
When I first heard this song I was so overwhelmed with its genius and emotion that I burst out into tears. And I never cry. I'm not even that big on guitars but the Red Special is something else, Brian has made me love the guitar.
I don't know anyone who's ever managed to make me cry with a song like this other than Brian May. The guitar doesn't only sing, it cries, it wails. It breaks your heart in the best manner. There's so much emotion in each note it rips my heart out. In a good way. This may be the most emotional Queen song I've ever heard. Aside from No one but you. Freddie's singing is also so gripping. What an underrated song. I played this to various members of my family and they all cried when they heard it. It's just genius.
Thank you, maestro. (Brian May)
