agreed! that is the reason why i am also waiting for the reaction videos for his live performances as well:) it would be very interesting format if the reaction video would consist of MV + dance practice + live performance.
seeing you reacting to taemin makes me really miss him somehow... he's currently enlisted in the military as it's mandatory for korean men to join the military for 1 and a half years... it kind of sucks but i also see how it's necessary i guess.
@@rjkpop don’t you worry about it. i’m a firm believer that you’ll always find what exactly you need at the moment you need it. also taemin isn’t out of this world, he’ll come back stronger than ever and maybe you’ll be there to witness it happening :)
"Criminal" is part of Taemin's 3rd Korean solo album called Never Gonna Dance Again. It is part of a trilogy which started with his prologue "2 Kids," and continued with "Criminal" which is part of Act 1 of the album. And it was followed up by "Idea" which is part of Act 2 of the album and it brings the whole concept full circle. As Taemin said in an interview: "The two acts put together tell a story. '2 Kids’ is about growing pains and depicts the story prior to the story in the album. You can think of '2 Kids' as a teaser before the movie called 'Never Gonna Dance Again.' Act 1 shows a new side of me. I think it’ll be something you’ve never seen in K-pop before. And Act 2 is the end-all-be-all. It’s the ultimate level of intensity. Never Gonna Dance Again’ was originally the name of the concept. Because it doesn’t make sense for me to stop dancing. But I wanted to give a sense of rebellion with the irony of the title.” And just so you know, Taemin is not the criminal in the song. He is being held captive by the criminal who is the girl he is singing about (i.e. the pressure he feels under as a Kpop idol). The song is about living in a toxic relationship and being brainwashed by the girl to the point where you are suffering from stockholm syndrome and you have now fallen in love with the person (or thing -- i.e. his career) who is inflicting all the pain and suffering on him. Even though he is being abused by that person (possibly a metaphor for the pressure he is creating for himself with the need to always be the best in everything he does) he can't help but love them and allow them to continue to hurt him, etc. This albums whole concept is a metaphor for his life and career. With every release from this album, the concept was designed to be darker then the last. In "2 Kids" he was emotionally and physically beating himself up with regrets and in "Criminal" he was living in a toxic relationship. And "Idea" takes the theme one step further, and says that even though it was my idea and my plan to live this life, nothing comes without a price, and because of that need for perfection, any chance of being average or living a regular life is pretty much dead. Taemin has sacrificed everything to become the magnificent and unique performer and person that we know him as today. But there really is no one that pushes him or holds him to a higher standard then himself. Taemin has said that he really has never taken a true vacation since he was a trainee -- he started with SM Entertainment when he was around 11 years old -- and he doesn't know what to do if he isn't constantly working and training. The thing that he hates the most is when people assume he has had it easy because he is part of a big and powerful company and he is so naturally talented. As he has said, there has never been anything that has come easy to him and he has only gotten to where he is today because he has worked hard to accomplish everything. He is constantly pushing himself to become the best of the best in everything he does. All of Taemin's dances tell a story. As he has said, he specifically designs his choreography to be a part of the story within the song and MV. So, "Criminal" is supposed to be slightly creepy, as well as sexy. He is literally being abused and asking you to please "destroy me more." So, what you are seeing in his "Criminal" dance is the fact that he is supposed to be held captive by his lover who is the criminal he is singing about in the song. That is why at the beginning you see his wrists are tied up. As part of the story, he has been held captive for so long that he is now suffering from stockholm syndrome, so he is no longer fighting the abuse and that is why you see him throw his bindings away. The criminal (which is a metaphor for the pressure he has felt in his career) no longer has to tie him up to keep him there. (Because he has falling in love with the pain and suffering he inflicts on himself as a artist, etc.) The backup dancers represent the forces he is struggling against as he fights with his mind over whether to stay or go, etc. For "Criminal" Taemin had 3 or 4 different choreographers who collaborated to come up with this choreography and several of his backup dancers are also choreographers. You have to be amazing in order to keep up with Taemin, so his dancers are extra special. His choreographer for his song "Move" was also involved in "Criminal." Fun fact: Taemin's signature move is that Michael Jackson-like spine and you will see him do it multiple times in almost every dance he ever does. It's just become part of who he is. That is why he is so good at it. He has done it so often now that when he dances, he does it without even thinking. Taemin has always been known for saving his energy for where it counts the most -- for live performances and for filming MVs -- dance practices for him are literally dance practices, so he is just allowing himself to feel the dance and get in the groove. He is less worried about being spot on exact, and more about showing everyone the feel of the choreography and the story behind the dance. If you really get into Taemin and watch a lot of his live performances or see him in concert you will see how much of an expert he is. Seeing as he is also singing live almost 100% of the time while performing for 3+ hours, you will notice moments where he conserves his energy, only to release it full out during the most intense parts of the dance or performance. He has became known as the best in the industry for a reason. Believe it or not, what you saw in his dance practice wasn't even Taemin at full power. Taemin doesn't need to expend every ounce of his energy, to show us how brillant of a dancer he is. With even 50% effort, Taemin is better than most dancers who are trying their hardest. No one can pull off a Taemin dance exactly the way Taemin does it -- it's never as intricate or precise as he does it -- no matter how talented of a dancer you are. As a member of SHINee, Taemin has trained his entire career to be able to pull off this type of intense and intricate dancing while singing live and always sounding flawless the whole time. That is what SHINee are known for. So not only is Taemin an amazing dancer, but he is also one of the best singers in the industry, and his group SHINee make up one of the top groups, that everyone looks up to and dreams of even coming close to being as good as. What you just witnessed was art in its purest form. Now after 13 years Taemin is still one of the youngest in many Kpop circles (he is only 27) and, yet, he often has the most seniority and experience. He is so well respected that everyone looks up to him. The funny thing is, although Taemin is ultra confident when on stage, when not performing his personality is the complete opposite. That's what makes him even more lovable and why he is so popular. When on stage, Taemin can turn his sexy, sensual side up to 3,000 and he becomes the most powerful and magnificent performer that commands the stage. But the minute he step off the stage he becomes quiet and shy and he blushes when people compliment him for his looks or performance. When not on stage, Taemin is known for being sort of innocent and kind of naive and a little ditsy, as only the maknae (youngest member) of a group can get away with -- he is 2 to 4 years younger than the rest of the SHINee members and he plays up being the baby when he is around them, and they pretty much will do anything he asks. He knows how to be cute when he wants something, but he hates it when someone asks him to be cute. LOL. As a member of SHINee, Taemin is expected to constantly be coming out with something you have never seen or heard before. SHINee's whole concept is that they are SM's experimental boy group, which means that they are ALWAYS changing up their sound and style and reinventing the industry with every new release of theirs, even within the same album. The industry looks to the members of SHINee to show them what the next style of song and dance will be. And, not only does it have to be new to them, but it is expected to be something new in the industry overall. So, after more than a decade Taemin has pretty much done every style of song and dance out there, and yet, he still manages to one up himself and create something new that continues to be unbelievable every time.
Can I just say bless you love for typing all of this. I admire the time and effort you took to make it so detailed and I absolutely LOVE everything you said 👏🥺❤❤ Edit: lemme just add I absolutely absolutely absolutely LOVEEE what you said about his dancers. I had never even thought about that. I'm always focused on Taemin but his dancers must really be SOMETHING in order to be able to keep up with him as you said. Thank you for that bit of info
@@lyOnheart4ever Once you get into Taemin you will also discover SHINee and once you become familiar with SHINee you will see that Taemin and SHINee are a complete package. You can't know one without the other. Taemin will be the first to tell you that there is almost nothing more important to him then his SHINee brothers and being a part of the group.
"Criminal" is about "stockholm syndrome" but we can have different interpretations and Im sure, so does Taemin. Normally, Taemin's song makes me think a lot, it's so poetic and artistic and his dance is smooth, elegant and sophisticated. It's unique, it's his own genre "T-POP"
Thank you so much for checking out Criminal!! Since u are interested in the lyrics, I really recommend watching Taemin’s “Criminal MV commentary” where he explains more about the song! This song, choreo, and MV are just so amazing in my opinion
There actually is not a dance practice for "Advice" yet; unfortunately it was a time crunch right before he enlisted so he couldn't give us one. But he did do a performance through Studio Choom and also on various music shows so at least we have a few performances of the full choreo. I'd recommend seeing the Studio Choom performance! Others have already commented that Criminal is about a toxic relationship and Stockholm Syndrome. In the MV, the toxic relationship is with himself. Taemin has spoken several times about the difficulties of wearing the "celebrity idol" mask and how that can impact who he really is, to the point where it is hard to separate the two and distinguish his real self. Criminal deals with this, by showing how that idol persona is both painful to him and intoxicating to the point where he is drawn to it even though he knows it could ultimately be bad for him and his own sense of self. Idea carries on the story of duality by Taemin struggling between these two different sides of himself until he can reach his highest "idea" (the philosophical "idea"; this song's lyrics refer to Plato's Theory of Forms) which is the "ideal Taemin". You'll see elements of this theme of duality and struggling with a celebrity persona in other MVs of his too, although not as heavily focused on as in Criminal and Idea. Anyway, thanks for this reaction and thanks for also watching the dance practice! Taemin as a dancer is just breathtaking to me. His genius lies in his insane body control and the subtleties of his movements, the way he can hit a pop super hard and then immediately move smoothly. His choreos are always super detailed and intricate, which I love because it means there is always something new to discover no matter how many times I have seen the choreos. I honestly think he is underrated as a dancer by the general public (not dancers or professionals in the industry, they absolutely love him, but just normal Kpop fans) because he doesn't perform the huge flashy big movements (except when necessary, of course) but instead focuses on interpreting the heart and soul of the music. He is the most expressive Kpop dancer for me; he really seems to live in the music and embraces it with all he's got in each performance, so that he can express the emotions in the music fully. I have never seen another dancer that really grabs my attention the way he does. When he dances, I am afraid to look away or even blink for fear I'll miss something...
Taemin is the kpop king for a reason, I mean absolutely no one is at the level of Taemin without detracting from others, he is literally a musical revolutionary in every sense of the word and the most exceptional performer and with an incredible legacy. His dance line is insane and unmatched. I hope you continue to react to him, (WANT, MOVE, press your number) and all his top-notch perfomances.
In one of the documentary-interviews, the lyricists for Criminal discuss how Taemin wanted to deepen the concept by using Stockholm Syndrome as the theme. They enjoyed working so closely with an artist. Taemin's dancers are not merely background dancers or visuals, they are always an extension of him and his narrative.
his duality is so insane 😭😭 you can see it a little at the end of the dance practice but i can't wait until you watch videos that showcase his adorable personality
Thank you for checking out another one of Taemin's solo songs. Taemin, just like SHINee, is a LEGEND in the Kpop world. He's been in this game for 13 years since he debuted with SHINee in 2008 at just 14 YO as their main dancer. Although he was a phenomenal, self-taught dancer (no formal training at all), he couldn't sing due to immature vocal chords. When it did come time for him to sing, he didn't know how and was told his voice was not made for singing. This was the wrong thing to say to Taemin. He is a driven perfectionist, and this just spurred him to prove them wrong and achieve his dream of becoming a singer. He practiced day and night to the point of exhaustion and getting nosebleeds everyday. SHINee hyungs Onew & Jonghyun (two of the very best vocalists in Kpop) tutored him. Taemin's rapid improvement stunned SM Entertainment to the point that, in 2014 at just 21, he became SM's first ever male soloist from an active boy group, even before Jonghyun, the king of vocals. From that moment on he became SM's "Ace". The legend of Taemin began with his dancing and now encompasses everything he does and touches today. During concerts, fans chant his name 3 times for good luck. Taemin has no specific genre - he is a genre. It's affectionately known as T-Pop (Taemin Pop). Due to being brought up with the most musically diverse group in Kpop history, SHINee, Taemin is used to forging his own path with music. He will do any genre, mix unlikely genres together (such as "Advice" mixing classical and hip-hop), or anything in-between. He loves to be experimental and creative. You can't judge his music by just one song because there is such an eclectic mix in his discography. He has sung Heavy Metal, R&B, Musical Theater, Trap, etc.... He uses his vocals to play with the music ("Impressionable", "Mystery Lover", "Light") and infuses his entire being within the characters of his MVs to tell a story (all of his MVs). His MVs are art not merely music videos. He is the measuring stick by which younger idols measure themselves, as he's known to be the idol of idols. This is why so many groups cover his songs. There are three very important things you need to know to understand Taemin's music and MVs: 1) Taemin usually has dual (or triple, as in "Advice") meanings for his lyrics/MVs: A) the surface meaning - take them as you read them and be happy; B) delve more deeply to reveal the secondary richer meaning; or C) as in the case with "Advice" how it correlates with SM Entertainment's Universe Theory. 2) Taemin is a Christian (devout Catholic) so there is also usually a lot of religious imagery, symbolism, metaphors, and allusions within his lyrics and MVs. His MV for "Want" is a perfect example of this, as it's a retelling of Genesis 3. 3) Taemin is DEEP, very intellectual, and insanely detail-oriented. Much of what we know about the lyrics come from listening to him talk about his concepts on interviews and IG/VLIVEs. The rest is due to our (fans) research. "Criminal" is part of his 3-pt. storyline for his 2020 "Never Gonna Dance Again" (NGDA) album. "2 Kids" is the prologue; "Criminal" is Act 1; and "IDEA" is Act 2 with the concept of Plato's Theory of Forms" which encompasses the climactic battle of the egos and victory for one of them. "Criminal" has the equally unusual concept of Stockholm syndrome (something only Taemin would come up with). However, unlike the usual scenario, Taemin is both the "criminal" and the victim - two egos within his mind: one in control holding the other captive; the other struggling to be set free, yet afraid of taking that step to freedom. It's a love/hate relationship. In the beginning, you see Taemin dressed like and outwardly acting like a "criminal", but his hands are bound, and it looks like he's being held captive in a hellish place (lava floor, dark, etc.). He is acting out both criminal and victim personalities at the same time. Taemin is trying to change his persona to become an even better performer/person. He started this journey of being an idol when he was only 14 (age at his debut w/SHINee). However, in order to become that better Taemin, he needs the present ego to "destroy me more" to be resurrected into the new and set free. (Like Christ who took on the sins of the world and died only to be resurrected and became new.) There is a lot of imagery, symbolism and metaphors in the MV that reveal this concept, such as the first shot of him suffocating with the plastic bag over his head and crows flapping around him - suffocating in his present ego and death represented by crows. However, in the second scene with the bag over his head there are butterflies circling around him - signifies metamorphosis and resurrection. The statue of him in the posture of Christ within a rock - while he's contained in that rock, he's still displaying signs of death and resurrection. (You will often see Taemin do his signature "T"-pose -- the sign of the Cross.) "Advice" is the epilogue of the trilogy and actually has three separate meanings: 1) Telling his haters/saesangs (obsessive Korean fans who think they own the artist) to not bother giving him advice because he will take his own advice. He knows best what to do with his life. In the background we see a giant shredder hanging down from the ceiling from which mounds of shredded paper (nasty comments, perhaps?) spilling down all over everything. The lyrics also show Taemin's disdain for such idiotic statements and "advice" from these people. For instance, the phrase, "I destroy the torso you've been chasing" is a reference to the fact that he got tattoos, especially the large one on his side that goes to his hip (you will see it in this video). Many people gave him a bunch of c..p for "marring" his body. The body they covet. Taemin is more than just a body. He also tells them to, "show your imagination in a more novel way" and through imagery tells them he is bigger than their image of him in their small minds. 2) This song is the epilogue to NGDA. This is especially seen through the images of the MV. Act 1 of NGDA has the title song/MV "Criminal." For instance, this MV opens with Taemin's body being a mess, looking like he's gone through one heck of a battle - the battle in "IDEA". We even see thorns emblazoned just beneath his collarbone. Again, the scene with us traveling through Taemin's locked eye into his mind to reveal a trapped ego, or perhaps the one ego is too big to be contained in the little room of Taemin's mind. Another shows what appears to be the "criminal" Taemin (long hair is hidden and we see the silver of "Criminal" version of Taemin) broken and suspended in the air. The metaphors and symbolism go on throughout the MV. 3) Many of the images and concepts relate back to the long-running storyline for their "SM Universe Theory" which I believe started in 2012 with the debut of EXO and is revealed in 2012 SHINee World Concert II's opening VCR which introduces audiences to the destruction of EXO planet and SHINee members as the guardians of Earth. I would encourage you to listen to more of his solo music, especially "IDEA" to complete story that ends with "Advice". Also, his B-sides are GOLD! They are where he really showcases his vocal range and eclectic style. As I already mentioned, I especially love how his vocals play with the music in "Impressionable", his exceptional background vocals and adlibs in "Mystery Lover", the mysterious and ethereal vibes of both "Strangers" and "Clockwork", and his latest, very sexy "Strings" which is included in this "Advice" mini-album. Lastly, I would also encourage you to watch the mini-doc, "The Artist: Taemin", I would encourage you to listen to more of his solo music, especially "Criminal" and "IDEA" (in that order) to get the flow of the story that ends with "Advice". Also, his B-sides are GOLD! They are where he really showcases his vocal range and eclectic style. I especially love how his vocals play with the music in "Impressionable", his exceptional background vocals and adlibs in "Mystery Lover", the mysterious and ethereal vibes of both "Strangers" and "Clockwork", and his latest, very sexy "Strings" which is included in this "Advice" mini-album. Lastly, I would also encourage you to watch the mini-doc, "The Artist: Taemin", ua-cam.com/video/m2_MVBxmdyc/v-deo.html , to get a glimpse of why he is such a well-respected and revered artist in the industry. It's not just fans who are infatuated and make up wild claims. These are documented accounts of lyricists, producers, directors, choreographers, critics, and other artists talking about Taemin and his contributions to the Korean music industry. As one music critic put it, "Taemin's music and observing his performances is like appreciating an elaborate contemporary art"; "The nature of his music is completely different"; [Taemin's music] .....is better known "to people who are ready to appreciate a higher work of art" and "He [Taemin] is one of the most unique and exemplary solo artists among all Korean music scenes." Youngdae Kim, music critic (from "The Artist: Taemin). Sorry for the length. Thanks again!
Thank you for this comment, it’s much appreciated!! This was a lot to take in, not going to lie, haha, but i really really appreciate the recommendations/information you gave me! I really can’t wait to see these and more from him! 🤗💙
woooow I like how you describe Taemin, I also love his b-side like Strangers, Clockwork, Mistery Lover, Strings, Sad kids, and more. He has no bad songs, he is so unique, no artist in this world like him, I mean look at him I can't believe from a cute & sweet face & personality comes so much great work art. I really admire him.
Idk if I've seen anyone else mention this, but you could zoom out and intemperate this as Taemin's feelings on the Kpop industry. On the one hand it's the thing he lives for, his passion and something that brings him joy, happiness and fulfillment. But there are all these negative things that come with the fame. Practice takes a toll on his body over time, the media scrutinized and judges every move he makes, he looses lots of privacy and freedom, etc. He realizes the toxicity of it but still continues as an artist. Thanks for the react, I love seeing more people discover Taemin and his artistry.
Thank you so much for reacting to him, I really enjoyed your reaction. About the lyrics, it's about stockholm syndrome and about being stuck in a toxic relationship, Taemin explained that here it's about feeling stuck/trapped under a bad persona of his (himself) that is hurting him and in "Idea" (it's like criminal sequel ) the lyrics are based on philosopher Plato's theory of Ideas and it's about him breaking free from that bad persona/side of him and finding/reaching his ideal form. Taemin mvs in general has a lot of symbolism and play on heaven/hell & dualities. Also since you mentioned "move" move lyrics is about letting free of all your worries and just to move your body and dance freely & breaking free from limits; the song choreo is very gender natural
Ooh nice, so Move is going to a really fun song it sounds like. I can’t wait to check it out! Thanks for giving me the breakdown on Criminal too, i like what it represents for him, it’s quite interesting! 🤗💙
Not only were his hands tied but he also had only 50% of vision due to the eye patch. There is a song of his called "Door" where he performs on a 45° sloped stage completely blindfolded in concert. Would highly recommend to watch it ☺️
TAEMIN's MVs are very unique. He always been the one who never afraid of trying new thing. If you react to more Taemin will see how most of his mv so different and very unique. He is such a creative artist. He inspired a lot of kpop idol and that's we he is call "Idol of idols" and kpop industry admire him too much❤ You probably heard this but a lot of people call him tok as MJ of Korean Plus He is a great dancer( actually the best kpop dancer) looking forward for your reaction to TAEMIN/SHINee
"criminal" is gooood and it was one of the best songs of the year of 2020 for me. in fact it was in many lists I saw, not only mine. (and although I really like him and his work, I didn't know his solo works, or even shinee, that well when "criminal" was released.)
Loved your reaction! I know you were debating between this and Move, but I hope you check out IDEA next because it's the title track from Act 2 Never Gonna Dance Again that's a continuation of this one ^^

MISS HIM!!! More Taemin please; want, idea, move, etc... Also watch "don't call me and Atlantis" by SHINee. They did a comeback after 3 years and during that time, Taemin was representing them🤧 Thank you for this reactions👌
I love Taemin, he has captivated me and I have no problem with this! ;) He’s an amazing artist, singer, dancer and performer. Thanks for your reaction and I’ll enjoy going down that rabbit hole with you!! I never get tired of Taemin.
I've just found you because of this Taemin reaction. Looking forward to watching more of your reactions. Taemin and SHINee are the reason I got into K-pop. They are true artists
Thanks for your reaction. He is inspirational. I’m not a singer or a dancer but seeing his creativity and knowing how hard he works makes me want to do the same in my life. I’m a bit late to this party but supporting SHINee always.
I love how he’s not afriad to look “ugly” with his choreo, if that makes sense. Like, he has a very artistic choreography that’s not usually seen in kpop because it could look awkward and not pretty
Sorry to be late in my reaction to your reaction. I've always thought that the other person in the relationship is Taemin, himself. But of course, talking to myself is what - I - do, mostly. ;D
I am ECSTATIC that you watch both the performance and practice videos! Fun fact: Taemin said in an interview that the relationship in Criminal is ALSO his relationship between Taemin the person and Taemin the idol. The fame, fortune, and attention are simultaneously seductive and repulsive, and though he wants a normal life in many ways, he cannot resist the draw and allure of his fame. Yes, much of the choreo is 1980s inspired -- specifically, Michael Jackson. Taemin watched Smooth Criminal when he was a kid, and the rest is history.
ahhh thank you for accepting my suggestion to pair it with a dance practice. I love your reaction as always :D yeayy i love seeing people getting hook by him hahah such a King indeed
I've decided I'm gonna get into Taemin with you, RJ! I'm watching all your Taemin videos but making sure that I've watched and hit the like button on every Taemin music video beforehand, and everything I see from Taemin is just ???? Amazing???? I have a feeling I'm gonna be obsessed 😍
Taemin is art itself, he works so hard to bring us art. He debuted at the age of 14 with SHINee, and 2014 as SOLO becoming the first SOLO artist who debuted being in a active group and in 2019 the debuted with another group "Super M" yes, he has debuted in 3 generation! When he debuted with SHINee, he was told that he was born just to dance since his vocals was the weakest, but with JONGHYUN and SHINee's help, especially JONGHYUN, he improved a lot, that much that he started covering JONGHYUN's part which is so difficult since JONGHYUN is one of the the best vocalist in Kpop. He was also bullied, so SHINee used to take him to school, SHINee practically raised him and they did it well. I would love you check a "SHINee guide" The bond between SHINee's members is so beautiful and transparent, they are like a real family that sometimes discusss and have different points of view, but in the end they care so much for each other and always will talk with honesty without caring what the other people said. That is of the the things that make SHINee unique and the others ones is their amazing live vocals, dance, stage presence, visual and their music, they have never repeated a concept, it's different form each other. Hope you check them out.
and, since we're here, I would strongly suggest you to react to taemin's "move". (every k-pop idol knows this choreography, I would even say every k-pop fan in korea knows it. there's even compilations of k-pop idols dancing to "move". oh, and the song is nice, of course.)
I dont know,if you know, that Taemin is a part of the popular group Shinee. He is the maknae, and he is the dancemachine, even though the others are very good dancers.
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. I like this one. It's fascinating to me that he wrote "Criminal" about "stockholm syndrome." He thinks a lot. He is such an artist. NewTaemin bias here. This was fun. I look forward to check out ur other reactions to Taemin. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army 💜
Ooh so glad you are getting into more taemin! If you didn’t know, Taemin is besties with EXO’s Kai and BTS’s Jimin, the three of which are considered to be some of if not THE best dancers in kpop. I think you would really enjoy reacting to EXO in general, but specifically Kai. He is such an enchanting and well versed dancer, and just recently came out with his first solo! He has one MV out, and two dance practices for a couple of his songs. Before his solo album, he did have a few solo stages that I think you would also enjoy such as, Confession, ICU and Spoiler. ICU really shows of his ballet background. :) sorry I know this was a lot haha...
The song is about stockholm syndrome so eventhough he was being brainwashed, he is also a culprit of the relationship! hence the lyrics 'My hands holding yours that stabbed me are not clean either'. Interestingly they also tied in this concept to his album where we have the 'suspect' and 'innocent' versions of them. It brings the whole concept tgt and makes it more cohesive
Thanks for the nice reaction 😊 Since Criminal is the title track for Act 1, I suggest that you react to Idea next since it's the title track for Act 2. But of course, it's your decision..
Welcome to Taemin's world, there's no exit. This guy is art, he makes masterpieces. After you react to Move, I highly recommend Want, he is in my opinion the most aesthetic artist in all industry. Looking forward to your next video. New subscriber btw :)
You should really check out SHINee's comeback videos. They have been outdoing everybody else since 2008, but with "Don't Call Me" and "Atlantis" they outdid THEMSELVES
Taemin is so awesome! Thanks for the reaction. Please dive deeper into taemin or shinee. There is also a group called exo that is fire as well. They are from the same company as shinee so alot of greatness come from there

I could honestly watch you for an hour reacting to the same video lol pls don’t worry about making the video too long unless it’s an editing issue and makes your job harder
Fun fact the majority of this video he's wearing long sleeves and gloves because he has on a flat cast because he has a hairline fracture in his arm and 2 fingers the same goes for the super m video tiger inside
@@rjkpop Yes, the new Japanese album of SHINee is released today and the MV for its title song superstar will be out today on SM channel, Taemin is a member of Superm as well and most of their songs are in English.

The greatest performer ever in K-pop
He’s really amazing for me so far! Loving getting into him, thanks for watching!🤗💙
agreed! that is the reason why i am also waiting for the reaction videos for his live performances as well:) it would be very interesting format if the reaction video would consist of MV + dance practice + live performance.
seeing you reacting to taemin makes me really miss him somehow...
he's currently enlisted in the military as it's mandatory for korean men to join the military for 1 and a half years...
it kind of sucks but i also see how it's necessary i guess.
Yeah i can understand that. I’m just as upset to only just now be getting into his music. Makes me wish I had gotten into kpop sooner 💙
@@rjkpop don’t you worry about it. i’m a firm believer that you’ll always find what exactly you need at the moment you need it. also taemin isn’t out of this world, he’ll come back stronger than ever and maybe you’ll be there to witness it happening :)
Totally intend to be, he’s got a new fan in me for sure 😊
But I wanted to give a sense of rebellion with the irony of the title.”
And just so you know, Taemin is not the criminal in the song.
His choreographer for his song "Move" was also involved in "Criminal."
Fun fact: Taemin's signature move is that Michael Jackson-like spine and you will see him do it multiple times in almost every dance he ever does.
I admire the time and effort you took to make it so detailed and I absolutely LOVE everything you said 👏🥺❤❤
Edit: lemme just add I absolutely absolutely absolutely LOVEEE what you said about his dancers. I had never even thought about that. I'm always focused on Taemin but his dancers must really be SOMETHING in order to be able to keep up with him as you said. Thank you for that bit of info
Thank you for typing all of this out!!! This was a super duper helpful read and it's convinced me to get fully into Taemin!
@@lyOnheart4ever Once you get into Taemin you will also discover SHINee and once you become familiar with SHINee you will see that Taemin and SHINee are a complete package. You can't know one without the other. Taemin will be the first to tell you that there is almost nothing more important to him then his SHINee brothers and being a part of the group.
yesss another taemin video what a gift let me sit down and watch
Haha, thanks for watching, I really hope you enjoyed it! 🤗💙
I just love the way he spins. Most dancers will spin on their toes Taemin spins on his heels. Giving the spin a different feel/element.
I agree, it’s what attracts me to it!!
Thank you so much for checking out Criminal!! Since u are interested in the lyrics, I really recommend watching Taemin’s “Criminal MV commentary” where he explains more about the song! This song, choreo, and MV are just so amazing in my opinion
Yeah, this was really cool! Definitely enjoyed the lyrics a lot, probably cause it’s very relatable. Really awesome! 🤗💙
The climax of this song is just so good.
Yaaassssss King Taemin
He’s so cool! 🤗💙
Ahh, okay so the Studio Choom is what i will need to check out then, thank you!!🤗💙
Taemin is the kpop king for a reason, I mean absolutely no one is at the level of Taemin without detracting from others, he is literally a musical revolutionary in every sense of the word and the most exceptional performer and with an incredible legacy. His dance line is insane and unmatched. I hope you continue to react to him, (WANT, MOVE, press your number) and all his top-notch perfomances.
1000% will! 🤗💙
Taemin is from the legendary group Shinee who are know as the Princes of Kpop. Check out their latest MVs Don't Call Me and Atlantis.
Yes, I will be next week actually! 🤗💙
Love the reaction- if you check more from him I really love his “black rose” performance w the stage.
Ooh, I’ll have to check that out!! Thanks so much for watching!!
I’ll second this recommendation-Taemin is on fire in Black Rose-vocally, dancing, visuals… 🔥
Taemin is art 💖
his duality is so insane 😭😭 you can see it a little at the end of the dance practice but i can't wait until you watch videos that showcase his adorable personality
There are three very important things you need to know to understand Taemin's music and MVs:
1) Taemin usually has dual (or triple, as in "Advice") meanings for his lyrics/MVs: A) the surface meaning - take them as you read them and be happy; B) delve more deeply to reveal the secondary richer meaning; or C) as in the case with "Advice" how it correlates with SM Entertainment's Universe Theory.
(You will often see Taemin do his signature "T"-pose -- the sign of the Cross.)
"Advice" is the epilogue of the trilogy and actually has three separate meanings:
1) Telling his haters/saesangs (obsessive Korean fans who think they own the artist) to not bother giving him advice because he will take his own advice.
Love this comment. I just followed him on spotify and can't stop listening his songs. His discography is insane
Yessssssssss people love baby emperor taemin ........
I like this theory
this song in particular reminds me of thriller
you should definitely react to “every male idol non stop loving taemin” and “taemin’s intimidating effect on other idols”
Best line in the video (song) "Destroy me more"
What a blessed day for me more taemin. Thank you so much for this reaction. Can't wait for taemins idea and move mv's.
💙🤗 Thanks so much for watching! i’m excited for more Taemin as well!
Not only were his hands tied but he also had only 50% of vision due to the eye patch. There is a song of his called "Door" where he performs on a 45° sloped stage completely blindfolded in concert. Would highly recommend to watch it ☺️

Taemin has been in this game a while, hence he really is a Master of his art. He is also part of the group Shinee and SuperM
He somehow betters himself with every new project he does, a real perfectionist 🌹
Watch Move it’s great. Taemin does most if not all of his choreography
I was lucky enough to see him last year with superm right before quarantine and I was blown away. Seeing him preform live is a different experience.
Oh man i can only imagine!😭
"criminal" is gooood and it was one of the best songs of the year of 2020 for me. in fact it was in many lists I saw, not only mine.
(and although I really like him and his work, I didn't know his solo works, or even shinee, that well when "criminal" was released.)
My FAVORITE video of his!!❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Loved your reaction! I know you were debating between this and Move, but I hope you check out IDEA next because it's the title track from Act 2 Never Gonna Dance Again that's a continuation of this one ^^

Thanks for your reaction and I’ll enjoy going down that rabbit hole with you!! I never get tired of Taemin.
Haha, awesome! Thanks so much for watching!🤗💙
I've just found you because of this Taemin reaction. Looking forward to watching more of your reactions. Taemin and SHINee are the reason I got into K-pop. They are true artists
I’ve been hearing that too, so i’m excited to get into both them! Thank you for watching!!🤗💙
Enjoy diving in!! Look forward to watching
Performance King❤️
훗. 영상한번보면 계속 찾아보게되지?ㅋㅋ
근데알면알수록놀랍지?ㅋㅋㅋ나도그랬어 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
thanks for your reaction! looking forward to watch more Taemin reaction videos from you!
Thank you for watching!! One coming today!!🤗💙
Thanks for your reaction. He is inspirational. I’m not a singer or a dancer but seeing his creativity and knowing how hard he works makes me want to do the same in my life. I’m a bit late to this party but supporting SHINee always.
Yes! Finally someone mentions that incredible spin at the end!
i would’ve been on the floor lol
We need more of taemin 🔥
It’s coming!!🤗💙

What a guy, honestly! And i’m so glad you’re enjoying the content!!🤗💙
ahhh thank you for accepting my suggestion to pair it with a dance practice. I love your reaction as always :D yeayy i love seeing people getting hook by him hahah such a King indeed
Oh that was a great idea, haha, definitely doing that for all the upcoming Taemin videos🤗💙
Thank you for reacting ❤
Thank you for watching!!🤗💙
I know this one isn’t requested as much, but Drip Drop is a choreo of his you need to see! It’s a fun song too
I’ll keep this one in mind actually! 🤗💙
Next is taemin danger live at tokyo dome
I would love you check a "SHINee guide"
The bond between SHINee's members is so beautiful and transparent, they are like a real family that sometimes discusss and have different points of view, but in the end they care so much for each other and always will talk with honesty without caring what the other people said.
Oh nice haha! I’m excited to check that song out as well! Thanks so much for watching!!🤗💙
I dont know,if you know, that Taemin is a part of the popular group Shinee. He is the maknae, and he is the dancemachine, even though the others are very good dancers.
Oh yes i’m aware! I just checked out SHINee too and that video will be up very soon! 🤗💙
Great you chose Criminal, I hope you will prefer to react to Act 2 of IDEA
Monday! 😉💙
Omg omg yes Thanku!! Maybe move armchair and dance practice/performance next??:)
It’s definitely coming! 🤗💙
I’ll actually be checking out EXO next week! Dont apologize haha, I really appreciate comments like this 🤗💙 Thanks for these recommendations too!!
@@rjkpop omg so excited!!!! 😄
I think I’m watching every video on this channel currently………
Hahaha, i love that you’re enjoying the content!! Means a lot! Have fun!!💙🤗
I´m impressed at your witty interpretation, so on point! btw how could you not react when at his"destroy me more" HAHA
I don’t think I caught it the first time around lol
The song is about stockholm syndrome so eventhough he was being brainwashed, he is also a culprit of the relationship! hence the lyrics 'My hands holding yours that stabbed me are not clean either'. Interestingly they also tied in this concept to his album where we have the 'suspect' and 'innocent' versions of them. It brings the whole concept tgt and makes it more cohesive
Please do more taemin songs !!
Check sexuality, want, famous, idea and thirsty
All on my list! 🤗💙
Check out his Advice mv, it was his last solo project before going to military
PLEASE!!!! react to Taemin- Goodbye at hit the stage! Ur gonna love it!!!
Thanks for the nice reaction 😊 Since Criminal is the title track for Act 1, I suggest that you react to Idea next since it's the title track for Act 2. But of course, it's your decision..
Someone else also suggested the same thing haha! I think I might have to then
TAEMIN is a TOTAL and utter CRIMINAL
That sounds like fun, haha!
Welcome to Taemin's world, there's no exit. This guy is art, he makes masterpieces. After you react to Move, I highly recommend Want, he is in my opinion the most aesthetic artist in all industry. Looking forward to your next video. New subscriber btw :)
Thank you so much!! I’m so excited to hear more of his music l, i’m really loving it so far! 🤗💙
I just subscribed your channel for more SHINee and Taemin react .Thank you🥰

@@rjkpop I can't wait for your reaction to shinee 🤗
You should really check out SHINee's comeback videos. They have been outdoing everybody else since 2008, but with "Don't Call Me" and "Atlantis" they outdid THEMSELVES
Taemin is so awesome! Thanks for the reaction. Please dive deeper into taemin or shinee. There is also a group called exo that is fire as well. They are from the same company as shinee so alot of greatness come from there
All three are coming next week!! 💙🤗

My KPOP trinity ADVICE-IDEA-CRIMINAL, it's been a long time since i have that earth shattering admiration it was Michael Jackson, and he's the next one, there are similarities but still Taemin has he's own style, for me he is worthy sitting next to MJ, not because they are alike but becauce he is that one of a kind artist, here's again my reco, you might want to check on your own time or share your reaction to us :)

I could honestly watch you for an hour reacting to the same video lol pls don’t worry about making the video too long unless it’s an editing issue and makes your job harder
Haha, aw thanks!! It’s honestly a combination of things but I hope to change that in the future.
Fun fact the majority of this video he's wearing long sleeves and gloves because he has on a flat cast because he has a hairline fracture in his arm and 2 fingers the same goes for the super m video tiger inside
Wow really?!
