Love my Lightning XLT. Platinum was out of my range. Which puts the Silverado out of my range also. But seriously the fuel savings were number one for me and I’m getting all of that and more! 10k miles and all good!

Good review! The RSV looks amazing, too. The problem with these trucks are not the capabilities, but the marketing to techie CA types! Truck owners want to see it doing truck stuff. The fancy tech is cool, and that hefty price tag is sure to impress immature minds--but ya see??!!! Anyway… great video! The Silverado has the best towing cape in my mind. Unfortunately the best “work mode options” don’t come on the “work” models lol. Once the price points makes sense these truck will be popular in the fields, etc.

Although the Silverado has a bit more range, it didn't solve the problem. Getting 200miles of towing instead of 150 does what exactly? Paying a huge premium for a huge battery that doesn't change its use cases, makes no sense. If you tow long distances all the time, Don't get any EV truck. We just bought a lightning for one of our work trucks, but it never leaves the city (100 miles a day Max). For this purpose it's absolutely amazing. Before buying, we looked at the Silverado and the bottom of the line work truck cost more than Ford's top of the line Platinum. Due to the big battery that accomplishes nothing. Not only would it still not allow us to tow long distances, you are hauling around a way heavier battery all the time making it less efficient. Paying way extra for that was its demise for us. Range is not a problem with these trucks, its charging speed and infrastructure. Once EV's can charge up in 5min, and you know for sure there are working charges where ever you are, only then will EV trucks be ready for long distance towing.

@@darpompie4354 yup. We need battery stations. Like exchanging your propane tank. You buy the battery once, drive into the battery station and drive over the “exchanger” then drive off with a fully charged battery. The capabilities are here, but companies want proprietary battery! Also, this would require more subframing, as most Evs use the pack itself as part of the geometry.
