l have traveled to Lijian Yunnan twenty years ago. Lijian attracts me at first glance as I'm living in 1000 years ago. The water system is originally ancient with flowers and willows everywhere. I have walked throughout the town and the fantastic feelings still haunt me in my mind once I see the town again. Thanks for the video.

What a great video. I loved watching this, as it captures some of the chinese culture that the mig modern mega city type video don't really capture. I know some people who visited Lijiang too and they said it was such a great experience. Of course I am from the West, but to be fair China has a lot of lovely cultural sites and technologial innovations. I wish we'd get visa free access in the UK to visit sometime soon. The tourists seem to love dressing in some sort of traditional costumes and make pictures. When I was there there also was this beautiful light, the freshness of spring, the soft murmuring of the water ... At the place with the water-wheels some children came staring at my (blue) eyes and trying to touch my blond hair, although at the same time they were very shy ... During my stay in Lijiang in a small and very friendly hostel, I went to Baisha by bycicle on my own to see the famous old frescoes (wonderful) and made a very interesting and beautiful hiking tour to Lashihai-Wenhai with Lily, the charming tour-guide of probaby the first eco-tour-company at that time. So, if you visit Lijiang, don't just run from shop to shop ... - go and discover the cultural sites and the beautiful area!
