  • Terrifying power of Paper! Hi Everyone! Here’s the last video I’ll be doing on Lego Technic Saw’s!
    This model users 22 powered up motors and 8 Smart hubs!
    This users a thin glossy paper blade, I tried glueing normal sheets together but it wasn’t as durable.
    I also tried a metal tin blade but I felt it had no place being on a plastic axle so I decided not to show it on video :)
    Welcome to all the new subscribers and thank you for all the suggestions advice etc

    Try adding an abrasive edge to the paper. Like, glue some sand to it on Rachel side around the cutting edge. That may help it cut the wood. That or get actual sand paper and try that. I'd like to see both ideas tested.

    They make very thin diamond blades for cutting gemstones; try that with a water tank and pump system and a splash guard. As long as blade is immersed in the water the blade will cut through stone up up diamond hardness. The best part is that you just keep the stone just touching the blade, don't force it and be patient. You'll cut through all kinds of stone. :)

    I wonder if the heat being generated from friction is why it cuts through synthetics so well.. like it's softening the material as you cut through it. If it's darkening the wood from the heat of the friction, it's probably also making the wood harder, and so that's why it seems to cut a little bit and then just stop being effective once the wood has gotten too hot. I'm curious if you were to keep it cool with a constant stream of water if it would do better.

I think the reason you are gaining them so quick is because your builds are like nobody else's. You can circumvent your power problem by using a heavy rotating mass (flywheel).
    Your blade itself, currently the biggest rotating object, is super light and thus doesn't have any kick to it so it's easily stopped and slowed.

On a normal table saw, the teeth are wider than the thickness of the blade, creating clearance so the interior of the blade doesn't create excess friction with the wood.

    You probably won’t see this but people please like so he does!!!
    Attach a flywheel like a tire of some sort to the main drive axle. Then, when it powers up it will store energy in the tire, allowing for a more stable rpm when cutting through tough objects. It will have a much easier time that way and will be much more efficient as the flywheel will add extra tourney when needed.

    • @GazRsExtremeBrickMachines
      @GazRsExtremeBrickMachines  2 роки тому

      Hey there I try to reply to everyone! 😀 ok question! Where would you place the flywheel? Straight off the motors and then do the gearing? Or possibly 1:5 gearing then a flywheel and then more gearing.
      My reason for asking is the motors have a very low 270-300 rpm and I’m not sure it would store much energy straight off the motors?
      If you get back to me can you just start a new message as I find it hard to find the replies since UA-cam changed things😀
