This deck should run Arcane Bombardment for the full meme. That is the 4RR enchantment that exiles an instant/sorcery from the grave once per turn when you cast a spell, then lets you copy all of the exiled cards (eg. the first time its used, it copies one spell, second time it copies that spell and another, and so on...)
I got me a jund land destruct with arcane bombardment. It's on again off again mythic depending on meta. Only has a few land destruct cards. And lots o fetches to fetch what ever destruct I need till bombardment nabs a land destruct from graveyard. Next thing you know you are destroying a creature and triggering multiple land destruct. In fact without the stacking land destruct the opponents used to easily ramp back up. Once killed a guy. 15 min later he built my deck and mirror matched me lol.
With you explaining the deck and narrating yourself and the opponent, you have helped me learn magic so well! I really appreciate your entertaining and educative videos. 🎉
I was just listening wit half an ear when Seth said Thelan at 20:04, and I'm thinking thelan is some new alchemy card then I look again. I'm not sure how Theoden becomes Thelan, but classic Seth
Ashaya was the Commander I'd been waiting for to build my silly ramp "X/X" creature's based on lands deck. An upside I wasn't expecting is how many times opponents try targeting my creatures with spells that can only hit non-land permanents when its out. So it was even funnier here to see that you're facing Ashaya with a land destruction deck, and don't figure out that your land destruction is effectively turned into creature removal! That punt was pure gold though.
I think golos would be a pretty interesting commander choice for this deck because it could fetch world tree and then all of your mana problems would be fixed. Plus you’d be able to spin into free MLD spells and board wipes
Thanks a lot for posting this video Turdface. Someone took inspiration and I just played against this deck. I ended up winning but I hated playing against it.
I'm not sure which 'karma moment' is better. Seth getting a taste of his own medicine by Etali stealing his Land Destruction and throwing it back at him, finding out Wyll Blade of the Frontiers is in fact tech for fighting against the One Ring because he doesn't play much Alchemy (who blames him though it's an awful format) or Emrakul wasting all the land destruction for pure "Emmusement'. XD
Great, after you made that mono white defense deck I saw it nonstop on Arena (Didnt lose once to it since I knew what the deck was about), but now I guess Ill be seeing this nonstop.
12:50 Isn't the discounted cost of Hour of Revelation locked in before you activate the mana abilities of the treasures? I know it works that way in pauper affinity
Ohh, yeah, I was thinking that I would sacrifice the Treasures first and then cast Hour of Revelation, but if you put Hour of Revelation on the stack first and then sac the Treasures it should work. Good call.
Might be too precious but I really like Gnottvold Slumbermound as a land that can blow up lands and give you bodies. Pair that up with Soul of Windgrace or other land recursion effects to get it back. Soul of Windgrace might be worth considering just in general since it can steal your opponent's lands out of their graveyard after you blow them up. Super rude but satisfying to ramp while also denying your opponents their mana and using them against them lol
The Ashaya Ruinous Ultimatum interaction making Seth cry into his hands was the most perfect ending for a deck built around land destruction. Live by the salt, die by the salt. Lol
That ending was brutal. I think a more consistent way for Land Destruction to work in brawl would be to play “ play extra land per turn cards in junction with play land from grave” running all strip mine like effects
Seth: plays the most land-destructy deck in existence. Also Seth: Runs into the most land-revivy deck in existence, then gets his ruinous ultimatum ruined by the one card that stops it... by making all creatures the thing his deck is trying to actually kill with all of its power. 10/10
Great minds Seth, I’ve been playing Niv Supreme land destruction doubler since MAT, some notes of comparison: - I leaned more spell slingy and double color to get more value from Niv when/if I cast him - more control elements, in the scheme of archetypes LD is overall control so a bit more interaction to survive into the late game like targeted removal, wraths like Supreme Verdict (it’s even double color) and Vanquish the Horde, and counters (Wash Away is a given in HB, Counterspell, Sublime Epiphany since we’re going big anyways) - Ral, Storm Conduit is an on board doubler and Wrenn and the World Tree gives you fixing and defense, and both end up soaking up extra damage - between convoke and all the ramp, this deck is Complete the Circuit’s time to shine, lemme tell you things like a tripled Casualties of War and an opponent’s EOT triple Star of Extinction is molto bene I can email you a list and some more notes if you’d like, just need to update it with LTR and anthologies cards
I've been playing a Historic land destruction with Stone Rain, Acidic Slime, Creeping Mold to blow up lands, Timeless Witness to get them back and Primal Command to bounce lands and find Witnesses.
seth, you can still cast the WWW destroy all nonland permanents even when you sacrifice the treasures to cast it, even if it lowers your threshold below the necessary number to cost reduce. You can announce spells and then pay their costs, so you still get the reduction while attempting to put it on the stack. For instance, let's say you have 1 land and a treasure. Emry costs 1U, and you go to announce Emry with the cost reduction, then pay costs, which implies sacrificing the treasure for mana, but since you've announced Emry at 1U and not just floated the mana beforehand, you put it on the stack with those cost reductions.
9:13 The line of text "This is still a land" matters a LOT if your main removal spell is something like "Binding the Old Gods" or another card that says "Destroy Target Non-land Permanent"
There is a trick with Hour of revelation, if you don't want it to cost more than 3 mana when you sac your treasures, press control to cast it all manually. You can cast Hour of revelation before you sac the treasures, and once is revealed, you sac the treasures for mana, the cost of the HOR won't increase. I learned that trick in a video with Andrea Mengucci, when he was using an affinity deck.
I'm currently making a physical deck called "The Circle of Life". All it does is make etb monsters that exile or destroy target thing. It's >40 creatures, and almost no Sorceries or Instants, with a Mindhive and 2 slivers with anthem destruction to just cause more creature destruction and/or exile triggers, especially on creatures with flicker abilities instead. I'm honestly interested in actually seeing it be played, simply bc it's so toxic with its graveyard recursion abilities.
Seth in g1 at 13:02 you were saying you couldnt hour of rev with treasure, not sure how arena works in terms of 'understanding' that sort of thing, but you declare it to be cast, it checks permanents and states the cost, then you may pay that cost with treasures, it doesn't check every time a treasure is spent so you could have cast it if needed for WWW with the treasures.
What this deck really needs are the instructible artifact lands. That makes Geomancer's Gambit and Cleansing Wildfire much less harmful, as well as making it less of a big deal when people steal your spells. Should also tweak the mana base to be more resistant to Sundering Titan.
14:30 Casualties of War would have been quite fine here. You kill two of their lands, both of their enchantments, bot of their non-artifact creatures, and the Battalion and one of it's tokens. And you keep your Double Vision. Edit : 40:35 Why are we not playing Demolition Field, use the other colorless sources to pop it, getting a Swamp, then using Mauling on Windgrace?
The scarecrow king is a 5 color land destruction commander, he says whenever a scarecrow ETBs you can destroy target permanent. Combine that with all the changeling stuff and you can easily wipe out all your opponent's lands
Just here to say that yes, wyll is a top tier card, in historic due to the crurent meta being able to remove (and get profit by stealing temporarily) the one ring and sheoldred
You could have played Lier so that every card has flashback! 0:55 Misplay! You could have killed the big one with the channel because he makes everything forests.
I though The One Ring was gonna be problematic in that it's obviously generically very powerful and therefore will just be thrown in to every deck. And it kinda is - but more often than not it makes games much more interesting, like your first one in this video. It slows opposition tempo without destroying it and gives you opportunity to find answers, all at what seems like a fair cost. It lets jank piles, theme decks, not-insta-win combos and other weird stuff actually have a chance to do their thing against ostensibly more powerful or more optimized decks, and that's fine by me.
last game was like: Enemy gets unlimited lands from graveyard - working around land destruction Board state gets critical as ashaya enters and TURNS ALL NON TOKENS INTO LANDS Hand full of land destruction❤️ Wastes the chance waaaay too long and searches a ,,destroys non-land" instead of using all answers in hand xD Funny games, brewers kitchen made a nice landdestruction deck too btw :D
How’s this work? Is this commander ? I was confused how Niv went back to the command zone but I thought this was historic brawl. lol maybe I’m just dumb.
Ayo Mr Against the odds, I just found some janky but really cool combo. I encourage you to take a look at Rona + Leyline Attunement. I just got it in a 5c legends kenrith and went "Huh, that seems good. Is it as good as I think?" And then I totally emptied my hand. of 5 cards. They swept me, which was cool cause it was battle of bywater and rona was fine. So a little later I found atraxa, and played her AND all the stuff she found me instantly.
Haven't watched through the whole thing yet, but you had some doubts about how often Ravager Worm would hit a land at 0:40. I feel the need to mention cycling on triomes and channel on the Kamigawa lands means they both qualify in addition to the more obvious ones like castles and manlands. I think the answer is that the mode is live more often than you'd expect. EDIT: I see you made this exact realization when your opponent hit it off Etali at 47:22
Give me a 5 color 0/0 “when this enters the battlefield destroy all lands. This gets a +1+1 counter for every different land among lands destroyed. Landfall- put a land card from your graveyard into the battlefield tapped”
Wyll is great in the current historic meta, check out Alths Winona midrange deck he uses it in that. It gives great utility and since everyone is running one ring and Sheoldred there are loads of great targets for it.
Your opponents name "Wumba Tumba" comes from a 50s-60s german song "Wumba Tumba - Bill Ramsey" about an alien coming to earth, open an ice salon and flirting with women. I think Bill was part of the US. occupation after WW2, rising to fame in Germany with his comedic songs.
52:48 ASHAYA IS A NONBASIC LAND BOSEIJU CAN KILL IT that was so painful to watch him miss its literally the one answer he was looking for 😭
NO STOP HE DID NOT JUST ALSO RUINOUS ULTIMATUM INTO IT PLEAAASE
the worse part is ashaya literally glows as a target when he uses boseiju
I honestly suffer with that! He even pass the mouse above Ashaya when target the artifact with Boseiju and the light was on ; _ ;
It gets even worse when remembering the whole thing in the first game about being able to blow up the transformed battle because it's a land
Even the dog knew he could target Ashaya with Boseiju 52:55
This deck should run Arcane Bombardment for the full meme. That is the 4RR enchantment that exiles an instant/sorcery from the grave once per turn when you cast a spell, then lets you copy all of the exiled cards (eg. the first time its used, it copies one spell, second time it copies that spell and another, and so on...)
Lithoform engine aswell

Playing a land destruction deck. "How do I beat this Ashaya?"
Never change Seth. :)
52:54 Bear was trying to inform you that Boseiju was in fact an answer to Ashaya lol
With you explaining the deck and narrating yourself and the opponent, you have helped me learn magic so well! I really appreciate your entertaining and educative videos. 🎉
Glad it's helpful!
I was just listening wit half an ear when Seth said Thelan at 20:04, and I'm thinking thelan is some new alchemy card then I look again. I'm not sure how Theoden becomes Thelan, but classic Seth
Lol I was gonna say Theoden italicized looks kind of like an L instead of a D, but he was saying it when the name wasn't italicized. 😅
You never heard of Thellen, King of Robim?
Seth not realizing that boseiju could kill Ashaya just made me sad
I felt that Ruinous Ultimatum at the end. I chuckled that Seth didn't even do a wrap-up... like, the performance was pretty self-evident.
The number of missed opportunities in the most of the games were pretty disappointing
Did Seth just pronounce Oliphaunt correctly on the first try?
He can say all the card names correctly. He just chooses not to. To hurt us. 😂
@@KingOfDoma *Flashbacks to Burglar Rat* O.O
@@DecrepitSundew3SO TROOO AMEN 🤣
And then proceeds to pronounce "Theoden" as "Thelon" making me wonder when Thelon of Havenwood become legal on Arena.
Never, because WotC is too SPINELESS to put OG Thallids onto the client #LetTheFungusAmongUs #JusticeForThelon #SporeCounters #Blessed@@moldbread
My eyebrow raised at all the singletons before Seth mentioned a commander and it all made sense. 😂
Love the Historic Brawl Content! This was quite the treat to see Seth!
Glad you like it!

Kenrith would be about on par with golos for being a generic 5c goodstuff commander for this deck, at least new niv allows you to recur spells
kethis isnn't red@@ICantThinkOfAFunnyHandle
My main concern here, is that Golos would probably put this deck straight into the hell queue. Not sure if that would be a good experience
Good luck trying to flip with golos, ppl will kill him every turn with a passion, the only way to flip him is to run protection spells or blink spells
@@jacobarford2877 Correct, however Kenrith is.

Casualties of war is such a funny card. Sometimes it is such a huge blowout and has caused many concedes.
Please more Historic Brawl this was super fun to watch Seth!! 🏆

Super fun looking deck Seth, still waiting on that Zada, Hedron grinder budget deck 😁
Its's on the list!
codie is your land destruction commander, land destruction cascading into land destruction
Cody the codex feels like it fits your deck more but i have wanted to see the new niv mizzet in action for a while😊
What this deck really needs are the instructible artifact lands. That makes Geomancer's Gambit and Cleansing Wildfire much less harmful, as well as making it less of a big deal when people steal your spells. Should also tweak the mana base to be more resistant to Sundering Titan.

“WOTC we need a 5 colored commander for land destruction”…..THE FUCK WE DO?!?
Exiling all graveyards with niv as your commander is... a choice
I thought this was a Crim deck when I saw the name of the video.
I miss the good old ponza in modern days from Seth.
I recommend Kykar, Wind's Fury for this deck cuz it turns all those terrible 4 mana spells into Stone Rain!
Love to see more brawl! Not loving the idea of more people playing land destruciton though lmao
14:30 Casualties of War would have been quite fine here. You kill two of their lands, both of their enchantments, bot of their non-artifact creatures, and the Battalion and one of it's tokens. And you keep your Double Vision.

Love watching your videos Seth! Thanks for making such original and fun content!
Niv-mizzet, supreme is the best commander because he comes with tomatoes and sour cream
Wyll showing up makes this an HONORARY BALDURS GATE 3 VIDEO :D
The scarecrow king is a 5 color land destruction commander, he says whenever a scarecrow ETBs you can destroy target permanent. Combine that with all the changeling stuff and you can easily wipe out all your opponent's lands
20:04 Theoden = Thelen? Never change, Seth
Thelon of havenwood, obviously
The first game was insane. Never thought he'd pull that off.
Haha what a sweet deck! Fun video too! Love seeing some H-Brawl content.
Seth running a five color deck with colorless lands, colorless mana rocks and trying to cast Ruinous Ultimatum, not greedy at all haha
I agree! Amazing video topic, you should dive into more! You didn't even mention Meat Hooks or Dead guy Ale!
Just here to say that yes, wyll is a top tier card, in historic due to the crurent meta being able to remove (and get profit by stealing temporarily) the one ring and sheoldred

Seeing all the creatures as lands and Seth seeking creature removal with a bunch of land removal... Hahahahah
I play Etali because it does two things most people hate. Playing with your cards and poison.
That first game was wild
Wow! That first game was quite the nail-biter!
Yes finally a deck that is not just combos or scoop it up
55:25 Lmao get reckt draw - Boardwipe gamer
I was so ready for him to draw Fall of the Thran at the end
last game was like: Enemy gets unlimited lands from graveyard - working around land destruction
Board state gets critical as ashaya enters and TURNS ALL NON TOKENS INTO LANDS
Hand full of land destruction❤️

Funny games, brewers kitchen made a nice landdestruction deck too btw :D
How’s this work? Is this commander ? I was confused how Niv went back to the command zone but I thought this was historic brawl. lol maybe I’m just dumb.
You could've used your land destruction spells on the creatures when Ashaya hit the field
I literally yelled at my monitor, "BOSEIJU KILLS ASHAYA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!" And then the Ruinous Ultimatum as a nice cherry on top. XD
Okay that first game was just completely nuts.
Boseiju is land destruction! Missing that at the end was tough to watch 😟
Babe wake up, Seth dropped a HB video
Holy crap, that first game is freaking epic
Ayo Mr Against the odds, I just found some janky but really cool combo.
I encourage you to take a look at Rona + Leyline Attunement. I just got it in a 5c legends kenrith and went "Huh, that seems good. Is it as good as I think?" And then I totally emptied my hand. of 5 cards. They swept me, which was cool cause it was battle of bywater and rona was fine. So a little later I found atraxa, and played her AND all the stuff she found me instantly.
Twenty minutes In I was also surprised because after the battle dropped I was like how do you recover from them pulling ahead so many lands.
Reaper king scarecrow tribal lets you destroy target permanent when another scarecrow enters the battlefield
BRO that wyll stealing the one ring tech was dirty you should 100% build a deck around that. steal artifacts, value, then sac them
Watching you punt that last match hurt so bad. 😭
48:14 Plays land destruction, ramps opponent with 3 lands on your turn.
At 14:21, I think he had a swamp left in the deck so he could have ghost quartered his own land to grab the last black he needed for ultimatum.
Should have just casualty could 4 for 1 twice
Imo assemble the team is just the best impulse ever
You coulda Boseiju'd the Ashaya!
EDIT: I see you made this exact realization when your opponent hit it off Etali at 47:22
Back in the good old days of magic.
Boiling seas (Destroy all island)
if you use the indestructible artifact lands you can cleansing wildfire your own land and fix your own mana
You should call this rubric challenge accepted
Seth, there is a 5 color land destruction commander ... it's just not on commander. His name is THE REAPER KING
Give me a 5 color 0/0 “when this enters the battlefield destroy all lands. This gets a +1+1 counter for every different land among lands destroyed. Landfall- put a land card from your graveyard into the battlefield tapped”
Even your dog saw you can kill Ashaya with Boseiju and you didn't listen to him. Bad, bad, bad owner !
Awesome video!
Love to see the deck on mtg arena and not mtg online!
Excess land destruction... As they say: "You either die a hero, or live long enough to watch yourself become the villain."
Lmao the Wyll tech, a card literally nobody ever played before El Ringo got released
Seth: Sees the Shire exist peacefully
Seth: I'm gonna scour that.
