It would be great to get a full Weird Stories of The Month compilation in December. I just love this series and Falcon's takes. ❤
Top twelve weirdest stories in gaming of the year
Fully agree!
Just watch them all back to back…?
@@Taragoola he probably want the best offs. I would like to see this as well along with the usual monthly one ))
@@emilykaldwin7576 Agree to disagree, my friend. I hate getting a notification from my favorite channels only to see it’s basically a rerun.
Destiny had probably the most strange month it's ever had, between the lawsuits, game breaking bugs and DDOS attacks, every weekend was something new
Can't stand cheaters in MP games. I hope more and more cheat makers get taken to court.
Literally it’s insanity
I was doin' weeklies and here are these people just all over the place
@@teamrocketsslowpoke2773 It's an amazing game just know that it's an MMO, meaning you'd have to sink in a large amount of time and money to get the full experience but after over 4000 hours of playing in the last 6 years, it still gives me reasons to keep coming back
@@teamrocketsslowpoke277350/50 tbh, great lore, great gameplay, poor new player experience that's slowly (very slowly) getting better, community is both amazing and incredibly toxic depending on where you look and can ultimately lead to many amazing friendships, but also while it's technically f2p id say buying the DLC is necessity
Surprised there wasn't a mention about the 31yr old who stole his grandfather's entire retirement money of £65,600 to fund his mobile phone gaming addiction and got taken to court by the police and had pretty much the entire book thrown at him. But yh this guy was splashing 1k a day before the cops went knocking on their door.
Probably because those stories are, sadly, rather common by now
Do you by chance know where the source for that story is? I’ve tried looking it up and didn’t find anything that fit the description.
@@d1l4te43 the bbc news Nottingham region
@@saalok but at 31 years old though? Most before were kids/minors not an adult.
@@worri3db3arit'd surprise you how many grown ass kids there really are, not worthy of the title adult.
The older you get, the more its meaning gets lost really.
Just like the word "humane", it means nothing anymore, maybe it never did.
"$149 = groceries for the week." The rate things are going, this is not gonna age well.
....I mean, no shit? Of course it's not going to age well. If you went back 60 years and told someone you spent 149$ a week on groceries, you think they'd say "oh that's about right"....no, obviously not. 1$ in the 1960's is like 10$ today, that's how inflation works....
That's two bags of groceries. Three if you coupon.
I know, like what the heck are you buying for $150 that lasts a week?
Lol, “I’m just going to quote him” is my favorite Falcon catchphrase.
my favorite Gale interaction so far was killing a bunch of monsters and seeing he had something to tell me, so i chat thinking he had insight on the quest or needed something but NO he just wanted to flirt over the corpses because it uh, got the blood pumping.
Sounds like “All Star Batman & Robin”
@@Turtle-Front Is that referring to Black Canary and Batman? Or am I thinking of something else lol
@@CartoonHangout that’s what I meant
Yes! Not sure if it's always the same quest but for me it was after defeating a certain kid/family which made it even weirder to me. I was like bro, that's what makes you horny??
I hate that $149 was used to reference "groceries for the week" ... :(
Not only is Falcon my favorite and this is my favorite series, but when he pulls out the old bird remarks, I feel like we're the same age because I can relate to everything he says. Especially when talking about stuff he grew up doing. Keep up the great work Falcon
#5 makes you appreciate Concerned Ape and all the effort he puts into Stardew Valley all the more. I hope it works out for that Up game guy.
I watch all your guys stuff anyways but this is one of my favorite things you do. Love the weird gaming stories! 😂
Says the weirdo
@@leonr1985 how come 'weirdo'?
Id like to point out Capcom has done a company exclusive deal in the past with Nintendo of all companies and it kinda did hurt the Capcom sales back then (Re remake and original RE 4) so i get why theyd stick to their guns and say we wanna stay ourselves and make games on everything
Man you are a beta kidboy, don't even comment. Straight flamboyant flamer tryna "come out" with that pfp🤡
The thing with re4 is so funny to me. Capcom promised to make 5 games that would be exclusive to GameCube. 3 of them got cancelled and one actually released but sold poorly. And the 5th one was resident evil 4 which got ported to everything
@goldenfiberwheat238 and resident evil 0 (even by me til now) gets forgotten as the other remake that happened on the gamecube lol
Imagine a company behind an engine called Unity ironically gets developers and gamers united, for once, over a common evil. It is kinda symbolic and probably what is needed against other common evils in the world.
Humans can be selfish, but when a certain spirit of something or purity of something is threatened to vanish completely, watch how fast humanity stands together in Unity.
Also imagine naming your engine after a game that was so full of bugs on launch it caused the whole series to go on hiatus for…only 1 year? Well it’s better than nothing I guess
So the evil here is that unity want to get some greens off there product?
@@MrBjarkenfjartthey already do
@@Wolfie1262 not enough to actually grow and put in to development when compared to % users and other similar companies. They need more money in. There idé wasn't the best but hopefully they come up with something better.
@@MrBjarkenfjartYeah, every time someone downloads/installs a game that has the Unity engine, they get a certain amount of money. What's evil is that the more money you demand, (and move away from the "spirit" of gaming that I mentioned) that always ends up biting the consumers in the ass, ie. us the gamers. Simply put, the more demanding money, the more this sort of thing is encouraged, spreads, and becomes all about money and therefore losing the whole spirit of gaming.
You see this with microtransactions. A decade ago, games used to be released in their entirety where unlockables could just be earned without incessant grinding. You see this with games being released buggy, messy, carelessly. This is all a result of more big-heads in the industry who don't care about gaming or gamers. They're just good at being car salesmen, so to speak.
There is another reason Unity's plan won't work: what if, for example, someone out of spite decides to uninstall then reinstall numerous times? What if a group of people do this at once? If on a mass scale, this could actually bankrupt the developer who made the game, who is the one who actually deserves the money
Unity was planning on charging developers for pirated copies if it couldn't be proven the copies were pirated. So if you didnt have, or didn't have good enough, anti-piracy software imbedded then Unity could rake you across the coals for copies that were stolen.
My favorite series! Thanks boys for being so consistent n never wavering on the quality even when u make videos everyday they r always top of the line! So thank u fir all the years of great content 👏
Okay girl no problem
Number 1 made me applause you Falcon!
Oh really? Marry him if you want
Good luck he only spends 150 bucks on groceries@@leonr1985
@@leonr1985 That's the reply I'd expect from someone below the age of 10.
Just shut up and kiss him@@Spootington
Honestly for point 4 someone needs to make a game with merging guns as a main mechanic. Like imagine borderlands but you can combine certain guns together like a shotgun and an rpg.
This is a million dollar idea right here.
Dead Space 3
@@thedarkemissary We don't speak of that game.
You mean exactly like Tears of the Kingdom?
@@aoterou Only not suck . The fact you can combine workable Melee weapons (and only melee) doesnt mean they are good .
9:45 Falcon seems to have forgotten the amazing existence of the "Full Auto" Shotgun from Doom Eternal.
Plus there was a mod for Fallout 4 called Any Mod Any Weapon, which allowed you to make a shot-machinegun... and much worse. Ever seen a mininuke minigun?
@@zJorizYou don't need a mod to do the shotgun thing in 4. You could find Legendary variants of the double barrel shotgun with the "Never Ending" effect that made it fire as fast as you can hit the trigger for as long as you had ammo.
Also the dao12 and aa12 exist irl and are in plenty of games
Or the speedrun exploit of having the Precision Bolt fire as fast as the micro-missiles mod 😂
Falcon's videos are just so good. Love the humour and the overall perspective on gaming.
I only watch Falcon video from Gameranx.
Ty for keeping up with Destiny 2. You constantly give me another reason to not go back every time I get an “i should call her” feeling.
P.S. Capcom is the greatest major gaming company still in existence. Same vibe as they had 20yrs ago: good, fun, challenging, stylish, over the top games!
People forget about the aa-12 shotgun full auto with the option for grenade rounds.
Damn this video was all so relevant to the whole year, with the UAW strike, the writer strike, the monopolization, macro transactions. Lots of intersections.
I don't know how I would get through my workday without Falcon's top 10 videos
thanks for bringing this weird story and i know the no. 1 weird story but really this shows the world is full of weirdness that includes the video game world
Unity's did a great job of ensuring UE5's success
The Craftening in D2 was amazing for me. I understand it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but using the Ammit with the aggressive frame shot gun reminded me of the Critical Conference Call from Borderlands 2 before it got nerfed... Good times.
Hello, Falcon!
Hello
I as well would like to say hello to you falcon
Thanks for the video Falcon! Definitely some weird stories here.
Your channel..brings me peace ,content and most of all …comfort… Thanks a trillion times
The whole "gamer strike/protest" of unity when it's the devs sounds like your aunt that used to buy you games as a kid calling every system you owned a Nintendo
Aspyr was acquired by Embracer Group in February 2021 and placed within Saber Interactive.
Weird stories is the best Gameranx content imo
Because you're weird too
Thanks for sharing the weird!
5:34 "the steam sore stoon" .. you crack me up Falcon :D
Amazing video gameranx,fantastic job.
It's that time of the month ALREADY?!? WOOT!
Legit the best videos of the month 😂
Today I learnt that Falcon is living somewhere without a recession.
What do you eat? Grains and rice? Dafuq do you do weekly groceries for under $200?!
Great content bro, really enjoyed it 🙌🏼
Pop smoke need an Oscar rip
"I ain't just feedin myself"
Birdlets, confirmed
This video is the only reason I look forward to the end of that month every month
I always get so hype for these.
How about something like a Top 12 strange stories of the entire year at the end of the year?
"Why did they sell pirated games?" Because in some bizarre attempt to circumvent their own incompatible DRM from a decade old game, they likely got a fan crack online and sold it without realizing the implications or doing any work to account for it.
We don't go often enough, but go to Aldi sometime. Not sponsored... but you get a ton for the value and their girl scout-like cookies are just as good and stupidly cheap!
Hi Gameranx! I just wanna know if you already made a list about the best indie games with amazing stories.
Thanks Falcon, your videos are so chill, I wish you had your own channel as well like Jake... do you?
Have to agree the main series I look forward to!
Falcon: "..a shotgun with an automatic firing rate.."
Me: "Umm, ever hear of an AA-12?" 🤣
“solid iron balls” Been a long spurt since we had someone with a set like that running the good ol’ US of A.
SOLID IRON BALLS. Epic quote 😎
Also the LOTR Golum game is still coming to Switch.
'WEIRD STORIES' Is definitely my favorite GR story. Falcon for best bird of prey plz.
The top speed is insane.
Wait till you hatch an egg Falcon. That grocery bill is going to at least double... vomiting worms just ain't as easy as it used to be.
Ahhh yes another video from gameranx thank god
What do you mean more videos? Its just once per day unlike ign that has a lot
Always highly anticipated 💯
Pancor Jackhammer was an automatic shotgun in an old flash zombie base defense game. (The Pancor Jackhammer is a real gun that unfortunately never hit mass production, but is also quite different from it's game iteration.)
2:40 damn Aldi catching strays 🤣
Not to mention NBA2K now has a BATTLE PASS. On top of the price of the game. I run a sports gaming channel, and often times it feels like I'm just wasting my life.
Fallout 4 had a similar bug with number 4 and it was fun making automatic nuke launchers with pipe guns that borked my game on ps4.
Something seems off with Only Up just being completely pulled. Even if the dev doesn't intend to further support the game with updates or anything of the sort, there's no reason to actually take the game down, especially given it's seeming popularity. There has to be more to it than he's letting on. Also, Western companies trying to acquire Japanese ones is almost never going to work, they should stop trying.
I'm a day late but never miss these 😂
These 'weird gaming stories' videos with Falcon are flippin' fantastic
Falcon, remember GamerGate. You can't expect game journalists to know a shoe from a sandal.
My favorite segment
NEWS FLASH: COMPANIES DON'T CARE WHAT THE CONSUMER THINKS
The Destiny 2 weapon crafting bug was A LOT OF FUN. I hope they bring at least a few exotics with the crazy frames people created, but with balanced damage output, of course. Melting bosses with an autorifle was fun and funny, ngl
I've been waiting for this ❤❤❤
Hey Gamernax nice Video.
Hi king
@@gameranxTVThank ya.
6 video ?
Grass fed ground beef at Aldi is amazing
“this is a labor boycott. not a consumer boycott”
bless
That intro beat was lit tho!
The editor needs raise
It's amazing that they're stuffing up a sure thing like KOTOR.
Bro, Capcom is so badass at denying acquisitions, and I'm all for it
And also, are game journalists make matters worse? Because DualShockers manipulate the Unity drama like that
I'm a developer. Developers DO talk to each other. We work with each other. The Unity changes were reversed in a weird way, but they took a shot across our bow, and it wasn't even aimed at us. They were clearly doing this to raise funds with the aim to sink an ad competitor for which a previous buyout failed. On OUR dollar and increased risk, not theirs. So we all did our version of that scene in Harry Potter where Harry throws himself and Voldemort off the roof saying 'let's end this the way it began, together'.
They have two activist investors and an ex-EA CEO at the top. We all knew about the CEO, but we hoped that you can take the CEO out of the EA, and also take the EA out of the CEO. We were wrong. The broke faith and threatened our community. They could send us beer and a nicely worded, hand written apology and it wont matter. They lost our trust. I am one of those who will be moving on from Unity after our current project is out of the support cycle. I will not put my company at risk, and will not return until those three executives are out. So probably, never.
So what will you be using then? Cause the only real other option worth any salt is UE5, which will take double what Unity wants. And if you go with them, you are proving everything you just said as BS cause you'll still gladly pay even more than what Unity asked for, along with it being Epic, which is just as bad as EA.
@@ScottAndNumbers Actaully Godot's pretty good and it's open source. Armory is another one. They have other options. If they want a bigger one they could use Frostbite a little older sure but it's still viable. Don't be a GE snob.
@@ScottAndNumbers I need the companies I do business with to be stable. Unity demonstrated that they'll make changes to our financial relationship without considering the impact of our view of their professionalism. A lot of developers suddenly felt that Unity couldn't be trusted, and that they're unaware of their audience.
My beef is the lost trust, and the attempted violation of my peers. Whether the attempt was malicious or ignorant doesn't matter. I can't view using Unreal as an invalidation of my post. Double is still a small percentage, and my personal conflict is not about money. That being said, I'll continue to develop independently, and that will likely require building my software from the ground. Unity for me has been a shortcut that is worth the cost to skip a lot of development time, but for what I need, I can afford the time to just cut ties with retail engines. I probably only needed a gentle shove to go that route anyway.
@@hollisyeano1397 Sometimes I feel that if someone was feeling saucy enough, they could just find bits of code from all over and piece together a $5 game with a small amount of editing. I'm a year out of date on Godot. It doesn't seem to lose energy, so I bet there's a lot of great things being done to it. I'm glad there are so many resources for game developers. Definitely increases the rate of bad games, but it also empowers good developers to keep surprising us.
@@hollisyeano1397 Or they can go through the effort of making their own if they don't want to pay royalties. No idea what you mean/imply by GE snob since I have no idea what GE stands for. But you really shouldn't expect an engine to work really good and be able to make millions off it and pay nothing for it. Which is what this entire Unity stupidity is.
My mother just turned 63, and she is on par with Sigma in terms of appearance. She has nothing done.
Yeah, he's wearing a lot of metal, so you only can see his face, and he just looks like an old man with the lines of his face. Imagine Reinhardt shaved, that's basically Sigma.
I love this series
👍🏼
The weapon crafting glich in Destiny 2 was the most fun Ive had in the game for a very long time
you did the crafting glitch you big punk noob
i will kick you in the mouth boy for that
so you better not do it again
We can call it "initial transaction" it's not gonna be micro, and might not be macro, but we need to do in specific place internally, so initial should be more accurate.
I love Falcon's tangents lol
We should just call them what they have become... a Mega-transaction. These game companies want EVERY DIME YOU GOT. Let's call it what it is.
Well if ppl want to buy virtual things, who are we to stop them?
Its their money that they're spending so they're allowed to do what they want with it.
I mean its not like they're breaking any laws or anything so ppl are just getting butt hurt over nothing.
@@Draconic_Incenerator 1. Microtransactions often times negatively affect design decisions on a game.
2. They can use unethical dark psychology to encourage people to buy them, which is even worse with kids being exposed to them.
3. Yes, consumers can spend their money however they want but when it has a negative affect on the whole industry from developers to gamers then we are more than justified in bringing it up and pushing back against it.
@@galax527 Just saying, but i fail to see any "unethical dark psychology" in any of this.
You can use all these 20$ words all you want but they mean nothing if it doesnt actually happen.
Plus "bad game design" will happen even w/o microtransactions. Case in point the FO, Fallout, series.
Maybe you should shop st Aldis, I pay 160 dollars for 2 weeks of groceries for me and my son, and Aldis gets all its meat and produce locally so they can keep costs down. They also pay there employees very well and give them benefits.
THE end of this year I get back into gaming. I will be buying the series s after selling my ps4pro in January.
The destiny 2 glitch was hilarious
You want a shotgun with auto firing rates? Play the Borderlands games - you get some ridiculous combos of gun properties. Usually I don't really care too much for looters, cause you're often just looking at numbers getting higher. But in Borderlands, all the guns feel and perform totally differently and even "crap" green and white guns can be better than legendaries.
$150 for groceries for a week... thats my groceries for a month...
Probably lives in California where milk is $7 a gallon
@@mtnman8783 I live in California... not everyone lives on the coast..
The age thing for Sigma and Reinhart are believable, I've met many a 60+er who stays active and they don't look 60+.
with Midnight Club, they went the fast way of bringing the game to steam by cracking it, disabling some of the DRMs that bound the game to the platforms it where originally designed for.
same reason why it where done for manhunt
They have Aldi in the USA, that's amazing!
I'd assume that if the KOTOR2 dlc was based off a mod there's a rabbit warren to go through finding out what was "official" content and what was added by a modder.
Unity tried treating developers as an end user rather than a middle man, shows the lack of business acumen from the CEO if they couldn't tell the difference and predict the obvious outcome. Devs struck back and had the support of their gamer communities. Still waiting to hear if the shareholders have decided to create waves over the slashing of the value.
Get this: The person that lead this decision at Unity was, shocker, a former CEO at EA.
Sigma uses tiny singularities to fight off wrinkles. 😂
Like a gravity tech face lift.
I imagine unity trying to charge Microsoft/ps5 for installs from their gamepass/ps plus unity thing probably has had a effect I don’t imagine they’d be interested in doing that
There is Aldi in the USA? Nice😊
as an aspiring game dev, i disagree that the consumer would be more screwed than the developer. it definitely isnt pretty for either side, but it's the developer who has to be more careful with how they monetize their game, consumers get to keep buying the same games with maybe a little price increase (though it could be a lot if the game is indie).
I really hope this lawsuit against cheaters doesn't affect the modding communities, technically they are doing the same thing.
The vast majority of modding is done with games that aren't online or competitive in any way, so it's not even remotely the same thing.
@@Astraeus.. You misunderstand. The language they used to get these cheaters to stop was that it was an infringement on their intellectual property. It had nothing to do with actual cheating. Modders ALSO engage in the same kind of modification of intellectual property as the cheater does. The only difference between them is your statement, but the lawsuit doesn't make that distinction.
This sets a precedent for suing people for any kind of modification of the intellectual property. How long will it be until Bethesda decides they want to make money off the modding communities for their games and starts suing modders for IP infringement? A bad business decision probably but we've seen time and time again that these big corporations don't often make the smart decisions where profits are concerned.
@phatman9762 This here is the kind of dystopia I can see us heading towards. We have numerous examples in media of corporate and wealthy elites taking over everything from governmental institutions and regulatory bodies to PATENTING LIFE! What I mean about that is back in the day there was a pesticide/herbacide company, I forget the name, that engineered seeds to be resistant or immune to their own pesticide. They sold it to farmers and when the farmers tried to use the seeds of those engineered plants they were taken to court and trampled for doing what any frugal farmer might do. We see media like cyberpunk and Altered Carbon as these dystopia far flung future but we're almost there.
In starfield there is a weapon called one inch punch. Definition rounds fire in a shotgun like spread. I've got it on a legendary maelstrom that has double mag as well. 140 automatically shotgun shots
I really like the drawing of sonic😂😂😂
👍🏼
I believe there was more than just cheats involved with the Destiny lawsuit. He was also threatening employees and copyright striking official Destiny content and content creators content and having it taken down by UA-cam through a false and almost legit looking e-mail. Unless that's an entirely different situation/lawsuit that happened, but still in the Destiny community, haha
One you missed: The makers of DC Universe Online stating the PS5 native client is on the way. BUT, they have dropped the idea of updating the engine so we're stuck using Unreal 3. :(
