    If you really listen, his “gibberish” makes perfect sense. In his best way, he is explaining that he suspects that his mother used LSD. He confronted his mother and accused her of taking the drug while pregnant with him but she denied it. He is also traumatized by the fact that his sister may not be his father’s child, which implies a family scandal if she’s his half sister. His sister also hated him and she had “red hair like the man up the street”, not like his dad’s hair. Furthermore he wonders where his strong addiction came from. He blames his mom for his addiction, which got worse while in Maryland. Again, you just have to listen...

    Here's what I heard and my interpretation.
    He grew up in Inglewood, California. He had both of his parents in his life, but his childhood was kind of messed up. He says he "seems" to have an older half-sister. He thinks his mother cheated on his father before he was born with "a red headed guy from the neighborhood", resulting in the sister. "In 1968 a nurse told" Steven's mother that his sister has a "rare blood type", a characteristic that is inherited from mother and father. She probably had a blood type that was impossible or very unlikely with his mother and father as the real parents. This leads to the assumption of infidelity. He said it "seems" that he has an older half-sister, so I take that to mean his mother denied the affair or it wasn't 100% certain that the blood type couldn't have been from his parents. He also said "I hate to say this, but she hated me."
    Then the LSD questions start and Steven has another story that he can't seem to fully articulate. He says he "had an amazing psychedelic(?) trip(maybe dream here?) when he was in Maryland, of all places." He also describes event later: "In Maryland I had, I say, this wack(?) amazing dream, and it was so frickin' twisted." He says, "I accused my mother of taking LSD before I was born" When asked how long he has been using LSD he says, "I had this dream, as bizarre as it was, I thought my mother had taken LSD (unsure here, wack?)." Then he says she said no. He get frustrated when the interviewer wants to move on and says "let me finish".
    Look at this guy though. He's got the suit coat, the Hurley tee, vans. Flashes the metal sign on the way out. He has a style and a personality under there. He probably needs social, medical, and emotional help from trained professionals. Just like damn near ever other person living in a tent on the side of America's main streets. Until we stop writing these people off like crazy lost souls and start treating them like members of our own families the problem will only continue to get worse.
    I can't believe I spent as much time as I did going over this video. I rarely even comment on videos, but something about this one and the comments section really made me want to dig deeper here. Steven is a person, not too different from you and me really. He clearly has some things that he would like to get out and can't be heard. I can't imagine how that must feel.

    I did a lot of acid. Learned a lot. Unfortunately, none of these lessons were particularly helpful in the area of fitting in with society. So I got to a point where I had to ask myself why I'm taking a drug that lets me clearly see the absurdity of all aspects of life, namely the work force and innumerable social conventions. I feel like whatever wisdom I got from it was outweighed by developing a distaste for mainstream society, which frankly, has not been helpful.

This is probably a bad example, but without acid in your head, the idea of applying for a job, interviewing, and providing a clean urine sample might seem normal enough. On acid, it's preposterous--the idea that before you exchange your time for money, this person needs to run an analysis on your urine. Some things that pass for being normal will strike you as being insane on acid.

Yes it can very much so even more so monitored by someone professional. What I'm saying is it has the potential to go bad after the trip is over. When it goes bad it's really fucking bad. Some people it goes away after a few years, others it never goes away... if you're someone whos prone to mental illness genetically
      Or you're just not in a good place when you have that trip. After THE trip that illness can start to come out. Depending on how the trip went. This is all individual ofc. I don’t frown upon the occasionally use of LSD, but slowly I’m starting to see how frequent users end up somewhat ‘twisted’, and think in very impractical ways.

    • @UsuallyCully
      @UsuallyCully 4 роки тому +9

      @Homa Simpson Psychedelics are mostly leastly toxic. Meth is not LSD. Meth has been shown to cause psychosis, much more so than LSD or any psychedelic.

    • @UsuallyCully
      @UsuallyCully 4 роки тому +13

      @Homa Simpson Way easier to abuse meth than to abuse psychedelics, that's the main difference. And hey, you even OD on caffeine, as you said, that is true for all substances, even water in excess is bad.
      What I am saying is you are most likely to be healed by psychedelics than by smoking meth. I've done meth once and no, it's not like tripping. It's also compulsive as fuck. I still wanted the 3rd day in. No psych has done that to me. I would like to know if your other friends have also tried other hard drugs, because that makes a psychotic break from psychedelics more possible. Generally healthy people do come back to reality, I have experienced psychedelic overdose first hand and I know it's not pretty. But hey, what do you expect when you take more than 500 UG of acid and 100's of MG's of DMT at a time? First of all, that's immature and unresponsible.
      My main point is: 1.-People with mental illness should avoid ALL drugs.
      2.-Meth is not a psychedelic.
      3.-ANY overdose is dangerous
      4.-Psychedelics should not be considered in the same categories of drugs such as meth. They are way less dangerous and way more healing.
      I simply won't accept the claim you make about meth and psychedelics being equally as dangerous. Psychedelics have given so much more than just a high.

    • @UsuallyCully
      @UsuallyCully 4 роки тому +6

      Science tells us there is no evidence psychedelics cause psychosis or schizophrenia unless you are too young for them or are predisposed genetically. I agree with you, only up to certain parts. It CAN be dangerous, but it's not physically dangerous. The dangers come mentally (Not physically in the brain, supposing your brain is developed...). Someone can undergo what is called PTSD from psychedelic trips if they are not prepared and that trauma can seriously fuck them up. Not denying that.
      But you want to make me think like it's going to cause some sort of disease or madness within itself and I don't think that is the case unless you OD hard and abuse it like Syd Barret (Yeah, thank you for putting a guy who took 1000's of UG's of acid every goddamn day. It really shows you the responsibility I'm advocating for.) I have a friend who is a Shaman, he does healing rituals with Ayahuasca, Yopo, Mushrooms, Bufo, and more. He's been in dozens if not hundreds of sessions and not once has he witnessed someone go through a psychotic break. Saying that tripping is more dangerous than meth, that's way too far of a stretch. Meth would have destroyed me and it never showed me the beauty of life. Mushrooms had made me appreciate my life and it was the reset I needed to take more positive and loving actions. I would prefer mushrooms every day of the week rather than a compound that has destroyed millions of lives. Also, meth is neurotoxic. You must know this, right? Psychedelics aren't, they even promote new neurons to grow and connect. "More dangerous" my bass man!

    • @UsuallyCully
      @UsuallyCully 4 роки тому +2

      @Homa Simpson You are describing my old self. I used to go overboard with the DMT. I am no stranger to OD. It's wrong, it's awful. The time I overdosed on DMT I thought I ruined my brain for that moment too. I stopped breathing for like 10 minutes completely. One time I came back and my right side of the brain was freaking out, I was seeing everything trippy in my right eye but everything ok on the left. My friends told me I looked like shit and I felt like shit. There were lessons there but it just wasn't ok. And again, what do you expect when you snort like 150 MG of DMT and smoke like 90 MG or more. I´ve outgrown that. The last time I took LSD was half a hit of good 250 ug acid, I had a bad trip and thought I was going to go insane. Also got the worst headache ever. Your concerns are legitimate. I got scared shitless. I've learned to respect. In no way was I advocating for anything else but responsible and healing use of psychedelics. I just stick with mushies and I don't ever plan to go above 5 grams and even that is stretching it. It's not like I want to do it frequently as well.
      Correct me if I'm wrong dude, please, I would appreciate it; Your friends either abused hard drugs like meth, heroin or crack in the past, had schizophrenic genetics, had a mental illness, took wayyyy too big of a dose, were already mentally unstable, became traumatic about the experience or were under 25 years of age. Am I wrong to assume any of these?

    • @obsidianman50
      @obsidianman50 4 роки тому +1

      @Homa Simpson Psychedelics are not physically dangerous though, they literally are not. I agree though that in terms of the actual induced altered consciousness given by psychedelics has more potential to be dangerous than something like Meth. I have personally experienced psychosis on LSD because I took too much (not knowing the dose of the tabs) and ended up handcuffed at a police station even though I started the trip on the side of a mountain 1 hours drive from the nearest town. But you cannot die from overdosing psychedelics and when people say psychedelics are safe, they mean that no one has ever died from intoxication, because psychedelics are by nature, not toxic chemicals.
      I say this respectfully in regards to your friends who unfortunately suffer with psychiatric illness as a supposed result of psychedelic use, but I am sceptical, I am a medical student doing a medicinal chemistry degree and a bachelor of medicine and will specialise in psychiatry when I am older, I do have educated knowledge of this subject, however, I totally concede that I am just a student and not a qualified doctor or scientist, therefore, nothing I say is factual but rather my somewhat educated opinion.
      But I do think that psychedelics can't have caused your friend's psychiatric issues without other drug use or underlying conditions. Psychotic disorders, Schizophrenia and the many subsets of schizophrenia are a result of dopamine dysfunction in the brain, psychedelics are serotonergic drugs that mimic serotonin at specific receptors and the nature of the serotonin receptors is that they can rapidly adjust and regenerate/destroy themselves. Dopaminergic receptors don't though and that is why long binges of stimulants or large doses can cause psychosis as well. It is also why using dopaminergic drugs can permanently damage the sensitivity of dopamine receptors.
      If someone is going to go schizophrenic or develop symptoms of psychotic disorders then they WILL be predisposed to it because of the placement and function of dopamine receptors in the brain and their associated brain regions that don't function properly causing symptoms, and I mean their brain will technically be physically shaped different and drugs can easily push the predisposed brain past the threshold so that dopaminergic neuron dysfunction really locks in. This can happen with psychedelics because as a result of very strong serotonergic effects there is a lot of indirect dopamine activity (what can cause temporary psychotic episodes during a trip) and it is never good for anyone with major psychiatric issues to take powerful psychological drugs.

      My thoughts as well, I have taken lsd nearly 2000 times ( not including shrooms) in the course of 40 yrs. and no issues. I think some people already have pre existing mental health issues, that may be triggered from a bad or high dose experience.

    There’s a documentary on Netflix called the sunshine makers it talks about the people that produced acid during the 60s they talked about regularly taking 2000 mics of acid by accident while working with it. And while they may be a bit odd to most even in there old age they are still just as sharp and articulate with there words. To say this guy just did a lot of acid and got fried is kinda sad to me because there is obviously something much deeper at play here so let’s not write it off as an LSD problem. It’s a mental health problem.

      @Rose Gold No I am trying to spread awareness and knowledge of drugs. We shouldn't keep the wisdoms of drugs hidden and taboo.. We should "normalize" drugs, we should all understand the power of substances and instead of condemning them and being ignorant of them, we should spread awareness and factual truth from experience and data collected from years of research. Otherwise who's drugging who?

    Wow, thats crazy. My experience has been totally different. I've only used LSD for a couple of times and its always been a pretty good experience. I have been extremely depressed for as long as I can remember and I used to be a cutter. I had been suffering from nightmares and sleep paralysis for every night for many months but after I tried it the first time it was gone. I could finally have a good night sleep. I dont remember the last time I had a nightmare. Generally it has helped me to be a happier person. I have started to get back in touch with my religion too. But again, thats just my experience. Some of my friends have had bad experiences and really gotten panic attacks. Its sad to see it but honestly i get it. When you're tripping i think you just kinda have to let yourself go with the flow and just enjoy yourself. Thats not easy for some people especially if they have some really harsh stuff going on in their lives.

    This has nothing to do with LSD. LSD does not cause motor and cognitive impairment like this. LSD can cause psychosis and derealization, but those are very different than what is displayed here.
