PJ SB LA I agree...Pearl Jam seems to have lost their energy, but don't get me wrong they still F'ing jam. I guess everyone's getting old...(me included) ha
+matt west Well i'm just 17 so I don't know what that will feel like :). The thing is; look at the Rolling Stones. They are so increadibly energetic even though they are in their 70s. I think PJ (Vedder in perticular) have grown up a lot and they have started to make calmer music (e.g. listen to Lightening Bolt), and that is a shame for those of us who still want the cameratower-jumping Eddie. But you are right, they still jam better than anyone else!
No, having just seen them for two shows at Wrigley? They've lost nothing, calmed nothing and fill the stadium with energy. Don't trust one video to tell the story of what this band is doing live.
I was in the front row for this PJ performance and let me tell you the energy was amazing despite the fact we had not eaten for 15 hours and also been standing for that long if not longer. I was totally blown away by how great they sounded. Eddies voice was just perfect, sounded like the early years
@@ozkrhills9624 i would argue that Stone is kinda under-rated. He gets totally overshadowed by McCready but he was in Mother Love Bone and Green River. Grunge icon
Especially stone's writing ability when he wrote more in the band they actually had hits the man is a hit machine and wrote with a great funk rock style and Mike McCready has a beautiful Hendrix style feel
Have my tickets for the Lollapalooza Paris 2020, been postponed to summer '21 and now summer '22... but they did confirm Pearl Jam will be there. Been wanting to see them for 12 years... almost there lol
What I love about this band is that they must have played this track hundreds of times throughout their long career but still perform it with the same joy, passion and effort they did back when they performed it for the BBC after releasing their 1st album.
This was show #13 for me and Pearl Jam kicked ass per usual although the crowd was just about the absolute worst crowd in the history of ever. They weren't selling beer either which probably played a role in that.
+Frank Collura I was there too. It was pretty dead. It seemed like everyone in my section was there for Pearl Jam, but after all the other performances and the endless talking in between it was almost as if people had the life sucked out of them. Awesome show nonetheless, short as it was.
I have yet to see a live video of Mike playing this solo properly. He always, without fail, plays something else. I realize the original was a mashup of plagiarized solos from Kiss and The Doors, but I just hate it when you go into a legendary solo section expecting to hear said solo, and never get to hear it.
For once Matt is playing similar bpm to earlier live shows, awesome drummer, but dang does he do some random stuff with PJ, missin' Dave's cymbal accents.
Yea at the Start Stone set the tempo but once the drum kicked in it sped up, and for Alive the Original tempo is better to give Eddie the to properly sing it out, but still a good performance. And the solo hit Dif
Eddie may be the icon who puts the lyrics into action, Jeff and Stone started the project, I get it, but don't let anyone tell you otherwise, no McCready, no Pearl Jam... he honors that Les Paul as much as any of the most acclaimed "classic rock" lead guitar players.
Compare this version with the 1992 live version... In 1992 this was primal and raw.... it called for destruction and pain....... I always thought the 1992 version encapsulated the most wild and beautiful passion ever... Then I saw this in version in 2015... All pretty. short hair. big stage show, crowd scenes of lipsticked yuppie girls and boys..... I almost puked and had to turn it off before it made me forget how significant this was in the early 90s... now just an obligatory encore for the masses....
How to feel old:
Just watch this video if you grew up listening to Pearl Jam...
someone out there knows what I'm saying.
May be too many knows that well.
I did too, and I also feel a bit strange. Is it just me or have they become too calm?
PJ SB LA I agree...Pearl Jam seems to have lost their energy, but don't get me wrong they still F'ing jam. I guess everyone's getting old...(me included) ha

that is very incorrect

This song is my religion.
Stone Goddard is such an underrated/overlooked gem. McCready, too.
His name is Stone Gossard
They're only underrated and overlooked if you've been living under a rock since 91.
No a single member of PJ is under rated... Actually always appears in list of best ranking in his instruments... Players

The way Mike looks at the sky while playing guitar is so fucking breathtaking oh my god
I AM STILL ALIVE!!!
Thank you 🙏🏻 Pearl Jam
It STILL sounds fresh in my ears
if being old is being "Alive" in pearl jam's early day's then I'm glad to be, nothing better then or now ;)
If you have never heard Pearl Jam live you really are missing out in life...
Jason Youngdale stop playing the piano black yr e the moment and I'll arrange keys
Que du bonheur, de la 1ère à la dernière seconde! Générosité, talent, sincérité, à part bruce springstenn, personne ne fait mieux!!!

ok bro
This is a stellar performance! Veder sounds just like he did on Ten!
+faridjabba Ok, he is not quite on par with the album version, but it is still an excellent live performance by Pearl Jam!
Nickster_28
his voice got deeper or kinda flat
@@AbG-pk4ti cigarettes and old age will do it every time.
Greatest band in recent times in my opinion
I can picture Eddie Vedder with a walker ..well into his eighties..singing this song.
Yeah I can see him in his nineties Shouting the lyrics to this and Once. A tip for Eddie, jump around more and release a new song
he still be hot
It would prove that he's still Alive
4:12 that woman with her mouth wide open got me 😂 it’s the kinda face my mum would make if she saw me pull of performance like that :) love this band

Im so glad i went to this :) The vibes were incredible.
Great voice still
Best band since Zeppelin !!!
Zep ruled the 70’s
Pearl Jam ruled the 90’s
He doesn't sing and jump in the way he used to... But still love him.

... Amazing to see these guys became legend's... I remember I saw them at the Paradiso Amsterdam as Pioneers of Grunge 😀
From Temple Of The Dog to Pearl Jam.
They're still alive.
Although Pearl Jam came together before temple of the dog. And Eddie wasn’t even in that band and only sang on the one song. He never knew Andrew wood
Na takiej muzyce rodził się piękny dobry świat
Very-very good!Love P. J.
So glad this one wasn't as sped up as other PJ songs seem now.
crowd just wanted to take selfies
Led Zeppelin yeah 2015 is lame
Fifi Fornow 2017 is worse we have lil pump now
What's sad is all the people in the good seats have no real appreciation for Pearl Jam.
Pearl Jam muito bom
They for sure have lost a step. I guess age gets us all. Still love their music.
