This by far is one of THE BEST videos I have ever seen! What a great couple and you are awesome for waiting for them and doing that fantastic hike. We were there in June before the fires and would love to come back and do this hike. Such a thriller!!! Peace ☮️
What an absolutely gorgeous area of Yosemite! Thanks for taking me along for the adventure Doug! Introducing people to new & beautiful areas in the Sierras is one of my fave things to do. People are almost always blown away with how much beauty this range has to offer. Happy Trails 🥾
Happy Thursday my friend!!!! Fantastic upload, we always love visiting you and showing support!! Have a great week and see you soon!! So glad you shared this and BIG LIKE and loved the visit to Yosemite
This was great. Every video I’ve seen hiking TC seemed to involve a rappel or two - are those folks looking to make it more challenging? This seemed like a stroll.
Yes, the route to the waterside isn't a big deal. It actually takes a while to get to the real climbing areas, but after that it gets pretty serious. I've gone as far as I thought I could without gear ( ua-cam.com/video/usNmTnZDFZI/v-deo.html ), but I don't know more beyond that other than videos I've seen haha. I'd LOVE to do the whole thing and I have the gear but not the beta.
Yeah - I just noticed you walked back up and out. Makes sense. Looks pretty straightforward to get through with the right gear. Have had my eye on this and Middle Earth for a while. I’m guessing with the runoff this year ME was never doable. Great videos
The full TC is on my list for sure! ME sounds amazing as well. I've got a hiking buddy who used to do Yosemite climbing. I'm hoping he and I can hit those places someday. :)
@@BackcountryPilgrim I've hiked Tenaya twice from Hidden Fall to Tenaya Lake. Once solo once with a lady friend. If you're gonna do the canyon Go upstream from the Valley, not downstream. Read the trail description in the Hiker's Guide. The ledge trail above the inner gorge is a little spooky but safe. Then you're home free. From the top of Pywiak Falls head up the left side of the creek to the the lake. Do not need climbing gear for this hike!
Awesome video with a fun loving couple! What time of year was this? I will be there June 6 to 15 this year and considering it but have heard if you go to early the water san be rough and literally have "water wheels" at the slide.
This was August of 2022. You'll likely see wheels then as there will be some serious snow runoff. I didn't see anything dangerous on the slide part though.
@@BackcountryPilgrim Great thanks! Someone who went last year in June said it might be dry by now, but videos from both 2022/2023 show a flow in August so was hoping the same this year.
@@BackcountryPilgrim So in a July trip would this be too dangerous? Also is this early, mid, or late August? Already have a wishlist of doing the Diving Board (loved your video), Conness, and the scramble up to the base of Illilouette Fall (doubt I could spell it right if you gave me 50 tries) next time I can make it out there but this looks pretty impressive too. Though I guess the last two on my wishlist would limit me to August or later anyways. Does the canyon get technical if you try to go much father though? Loved looking down into the canyon when I hiked Clouds Rest so would be great to get the ant's eye perspective after seeing the bird's eye perspective of it.
The hike in this video isn't very dangerous, it's when people try to hike the entire canyon (i.e., all the way to Mirror Lake). If you watch my first video on this area, I hike to the point where the danger starts. :)
Not far. The sign is just a few minutes above the drop where the water starts heading down. The waterslide is anywhere you feel brave enough to get in it. :)
@@BackcountryPilgrim Very cool. We recently took an off-trail adventure through the Hoover and into Yosemite. Walked Matterhorn and Spiller canyons. It was glorious.

You said it! The Sierra are just a treasure!
A GREAT video, Doctor! What a fun couple. Well done!
Thanks buddy! My second meetup after you! :)
Backcountry Pilgrim...Tour Guide. Great job.
I had SO MUCH FUN! It combined my enthusiasm for teaching and hiking together. :)
Everybody lived, no major injuries...great success!

Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Wow this place so beautiful and nice hiking tours . Big like for you! Have a nice day my friend.
Thank you! You too!
This is so cool!
Glad you liked it!
Was just there in may! Would’ve definitely loved the chance to meet with you. Maybe next time 👍 great video as always
It would have been wild in May! Did you go down the slide?
Looks awesome 🤩
It is!

Awesome video! What time of year was this? Anyway to know if the water is flowing? Ill be going next week
August. I'd guess the water is flowing pretty well now since Yosemite Falls is still going. Enjoy!

@jonny4509torres Let me know!
So was it flowing?

So what exactly is dangerous about this hike? Thinking of doing this in a couple weeks

great content! 👍
Thank you! 👍
That place looks amazing! Is there camping back there? Or strictly day hiking?
No designated spots but there are places you could setup farther into the canyon. See here: ua-cam.com/video/usNmTnZDFZI/v-deo.html

Oh that sounds cool, I'll have to check it out!
@@BackcountryPilgrim I think you’ll dig it. I posted the video last Tuesday.
how long was the hike ??? heading there Saturday till Wed and i want ot go there
About 3.5 miles RT.
@@BackcountryPilgrim did it on monday its was FUN lots of water getting back was a little weird , got lost for a bout 30 mins but wasn’t worried
Glad you made it! :)
@@greencurl1814where was it exactly??
Follow Tenaya Creek down from the lake and you'll eventually get there.
What is the starting trail.called?
You start at the Clouds Rest trail.
Ever see nine yr old kids out there? Or just plain to dangerous??
I've seen kids out there yeah. If they are good hikers and the parents are responsible I think it'd be safe.
