    I was working at Princeton University in the School of Engineering and After my husband died the Dean Emeritus of the school would routinely make suggestive comments to me, requesting me give him massages, calling me from his home after getting out of the shower and telling me he was naked and shivering, kissing me on the top of the head when he’d get to the office. I WISH I had said something and was so torn (and he had actually been brought up on sexual harassment charges with the previous secretary) but was so terrified to lose my job; I had 2 children to raise and my husband had died. Thank you Megan Kelly and other ladies. I wish I had your courage, your power. Thank you for speaking up for us women who can’t.

      When I was in year 10 at high school (15 or 16) we had to do 2 weeks of work experience. I wanted to be a photographer so I chose 2 different areas of photography to get a sense of what direction I wanted to go in. I chose a portrait/wedding photographic studio & a commercial studio. The commercial studio was in an industrial area, far from anything. It was just a factory with an adjoining office & a loft area which had a sofa bed- I guess I was told about this as I never saw it. There were three middle age men working there. While I was there they were shooting catalogue photos of spa baths, nuts/bolts & screws. Any sexually suggestive comment pertaining to those items that you can think of is what I had to listen to for four days. I didn’t return on the fifth day & I made sure to tell the careers counsellor about how they behaved with a 15/16 year old. He put them on a list of “no go” workplaces for future reference. It’s disgusting what many women have to endure. So sorry for your experience also.

In the series Dollhouse it refers to actual female human that are reprogrammed to act according to the customers desires. The series is called Dollhouse, because these female humans are nothing but dolls, toys for their buyers. Because that is what a doll is. It can come off as condescending for some, when used.
      If it is commonly used in your area as a term for a woman who is pretty, it is understandable that you feel cognitive dissonance by being informed that it is not fully a compliment. Usually it is a compliment to say a person is pretty.
      Please, just be more aware that doll outside areas that does not use it as a term of affection or benign condescension, it may not get as positive reviews as you feel it should, because of what a doll actually is, which means you may get the type of reaction you got in this thread. Yeah, sorry, the criticisms are justified. You could say 'what a doll', I guess, as a remark on her physical beauty (if you felt the need to sound like a 1940s private detective), but to make a point of saying 'intellectually' as well just sounds a bit weird. That's not an expression. Who ever said someone was an 'intellectual doll'? No one, that's who.

      Also, I think the e at the end of Charlize should not be silent like in English & French, so you'd say it like Charliza. And if it's a full-on Dutch/Afrikaan name, the Ch would be equivalent to the rattling G sound and so you'd say it more like Carliza.

    • @slyjokerg
      @slyjokerg 4 роки тому +1

      It can't force someone to cover up a crime here. What are you talking about? Gretchen Carlson can reveal a crime any time she wants. She isn't forced to cover up anything. An NDA doesn't force you to do anything. She is fully free to reveal anything she feels like revealing. If doing so violates the terms of an NDA, then it does, and whatever happens as a result of that happens. That doesn't mean she is forced to cover anything up.

    • @era95v
      @era95v 4 роки тому +1

      slyjokerg Whoever presented her with the NDA that she signed can sue her for breaching the agreement and revealing sensitive information. She’s most likely not covering up a crime but rather sensitive details on the payout, the people who knew or other information. Who knows for how much she can get sued if she reveals anything that is outlined in the NDA as confidential.

    • @slyjokerg
      @slyjokerg 4 роки тому +1

      @@era95v No shit. If she breaks the terms of an NDA, it can cost her money. That doesn't mean that she can be FORCED to cover up a crime. That is the topic. You are confusing "incentivized" or "motivated" for "forced." She can't be forced to cover up a crime. She can say anything she wants about any crime about which she knows. No NDA stops that. She can choose to break the NDA and pay money for it AND divulge everything she knows about any crime in doing so.

    • @era95v
      @era95v 4 роки тому

      slyjokerg There’s no evidence that she’s covering up any crimes or has knowledge about any legal wrongdoings. NDA’s don’t cover crimes anyway. Lawyers are required to write them up and if a crime is explicitly stated in paper they are required to report it. Even if Fox’s lawyers didn’t report it I’m guessing Gretchen’s would be more than happy too. The person who commented first lacked knowledge on how NDA worked here in the states. There’s no need to tell him or me that she can report crimes if she want too. We all know that.
