This kind of thing makes me wonder what redeeming value NDAs could possibly have, outside of protecting classified information. I mean, if _that's_ the kind of thing Roger Ailes used as a selling point, the moment he tried to use it to protect anything that _wasn't_ classified should've set Carlson free from it.
Other than that, seems like their only purpose would be to keep the rich and powerful from accountability. Case in point, 44.5 has _always_ made extensive use of NDA's...
Fun fact: NDAs are meant to be a tool for business and research relationships, in most countries (I'd say everywhere except USA, but I'm not sure) an NDA cannot force a person to cover up a crime
It can't force someone to cover up a crime here. What are you talking about? Gretchen Carlson can reveal a crime any time she wants. She isn't forced to cover up anything. An NDA doesn't force you to do anything. She is fully free to reveal anything she feels like revealing. If doing so violates the terms of an NDA, then it does, and whatever happens as a result of that happens. That doesn't mean she is forced to cover anything up.
slyjokerg Whoever presented her with the NDA that she signed can sue her for breaching the agreement and revealing sensitive information. She’s most likely not covering up a crime but rather sensitive details on the payout, the people who knew or other information. Who knows for how much she can get sued if she reveals anything that is outlined in the NDA as confidential.
@@athousandandonenights11 No shit. If she breaks the terms of an NDA, it can cost her money. That doesn't mean that she can be FORCED to cover up a crime. That is the topic. You are confusing "incentivized" or "motivated" for "forced." She can't be forced to cover up a crime. She can say anything she wants about any crime about which she knows. No NDA stops that. She can choose to break the NDA and pay money for it AND divulge everything she knows about any crime in doing so.
slyjokerg There’s no evidence that she’s covering up any crimes or has knowledge about any legal wrongdoings. NDA’s don’t cover crimes anyway. Lawyers are required to write them up and if a crime is explicitly stated in paper they are required to report it. Even if Fox’s lawyers didn’t report it I’m guessing Gretchen’s would be more than happy too. The person who commented first lacked knowledge on how NDA worked here in the states. There’s no need to tell him or me that she can report crimes if she want too. We all know that.
@@athousandandonenights11 1. I didn't say she was covering up any crimes, kiddo. Pay attention. I simply pointed out that an NDA can not force someone to cover up a crime. 2. Obviously, the original poster did NOT know that an NDA cannot force someone to cover up a crime, since he said, "...in most countries (I'd say everywhere except USA, but I'm not sure) an NDA cannot force a person to cover up a crime". Charlize Theron is an amazing actress. To be honest, I think that male actors are fortunate to have more ways of changing their image dramatically for a role (e.g. grow a beard, shave a beard, etc...). There's also less of a social stigma for bald men than for bald women, so dudes can shave their heads and just be cool with rocking the bald look until filming is done and they can regrow their hair. Charlize isn't afraid to do whatever it takes for a role and she's always great.
Just saw Bombshell. Charlyze, could we have an HBO miniseries wirh one episode per character please? I want to know more about each of these brave women.

If you know the story of Charlize's parents this is v. ironic
Jaq Tweedie lol
did her mom show her twat or something? lol
r0bz1985, her mother shot her father in self-defense.
I don't think ironic is the word for THAT story 😏
Holy moly. I didn't even think of that.
Charlize Theron is one of my favorites so talented and beautiful. Of all the wonderful performances I want to see of her the unedited version of that clip is now at the top of my list.

As evil as those women certainly are... ain't no one that deserves that kind of harassment.

I've watched the movie many times.Charlize Theron is the only one who could portray Megyn Kelly. She literally transformed into Megyn Kelly!!!What a GREAT ACTRESS!!!👍👍👍
Also seems like they should end with the person dying.
Other than that, seems like their only purpose would be to keep the rich and powerful from accountability. Case in point, 44.5 has _always_ made extensive use of NDA's...
@@andrewthezeppo Ah. Now _that's_ a really going _point._

"Don't shoot anything until you get the underwear on". Wise words. Certainly words I shall now always live by.
I guess Sharon Stone must have missed those words of advice…
@@PaulZink fffffuuccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Again, pay attention to what is said.
I just watched that flick today. Those weren't men, they were animals. Men don't behave that way. This actress, all of them in the film really, did such a great job some people left the theatre in tears.

She is very detailed when it comes to her physical transformations, including in Atomic Blond where the goal wasn't to look like a different person but to appear as beat up as possible.

Here’s the thing: Every person in Hollywood knew about Harvey. Everyone. And yet, no one, I mean no one did anything.
Nobody thought they COULD do anything about it. Once his supposed "invincibility" was broken the dam was broken and the Pandora's Box was opened.
You're kidding, right? You think this is just something that happens in the entertainment industry? Welcome to "life as a woman in the workplace".
@Cody i understand what you're saying, but let's get things straight... there were people who tried to do the right thing, there were individuals who tried to help the victims..unfortunately they were attacked not only by Harvey's team but also by all kind of a$$ kissing losers. Let's remember that the original Harvey story was not published till Ronan Farrow took it to The New Yorker (and that stories like that were buried in the past). In a sense that news story almost didn't happen, we almost didn't get to read what mr Farrow and the accusers had to say...
what an embarrassment on the males of this species the way the women were and are treated....
@@duroxkilo and Farrow released the book recently about just how difficult was for him, basically Hollywood prince/vunderkind journalist, to drag that story into the light... Powerful men covering each other's, Ex Mosad and all that...
i just clicked on this to see how her name is pronounced
Th is not pronounced with the tongue between the teeth in most northern European languages. You put your tongue behind your top teeth and get a sound closer to a hard T.
Also, I think the e at the end of Charlize should not be silent like in English & French, so you'd say it like Charliza. And if it's a full-on Dutch/Afrikaan name, the Ch would be equivalent to the rattling G sound and so you'd say it more like Carliza.
She's said the way it's pronounced at home in SA sounds like "Trrunn."
Has everyone already forget Charlize in "Monster" 2003? She did an incredible job portraying Aileen Wuornos with also a lot (?) of prostheses.
I loved her so much in Fury Road.
She was so Brilliant in that movie.
Charlize Theron is much more beautiful and a much better human being than Megan Kelly.
I Totally Agree

@@charlizetheron8233 Hi Charlize. Your portrayal of Megyn Kelly was brilliant. You are a risk taker in your craft. I love that. Kelly should have been thrilled that you portrayed her.
It takes real acting chops to play horrific people like Aileen W. and Megyn K.
Charlize got the voice perfect!! absolutely amazing!
Shes an insanely amazing actress, and she is so damn fine. insanely gorgeous. She looks EXACTLY like Meagan its scary.
I, personally, would love to hear men talk this openly. "I did..." might help themselves, as well as others. Some men blame their problems on women, weather it's warranted or not. Owning ones crap is hard. Hopefully, "coming forward" isn't just for women.
Charlize is an amazing ... person!
But I liked Aeon Flux..
Gee wiz. She said that was her worst, and she should have turned down
Earl Williams jr aeon flux is hard to do, it should have good writers and people
Why is Charlize being nominated when it was Megyn Kelly playing herself.
That was an outstanding performance, I could see on only Kelly in that movie. The makeup designers deserve a lot of credit as well

Just saw Bombshell. Charlyze, could we have an HBO miniseries wirh one episode per character please? I want to know more about each of these brave women.
You should check out the Loudest Voice on HBO
The brave and courageous one was Gretchen Carlson. Megyn Kelly did not report the harassment in order to further her Fox career. She allowed a monster like Ailes to get away with it. Zero respect for her, but huge respect for Gretchen.
