    Well done and quite a thoughtful analysis! Thank you!
    My only break with you is minor about the effect of a high or low bore axis.
    I have an old W. German Sig pd226 since the early 80s or before and the same is said about it.
    I shoot many different handguns and I just ignore that issue, shoot the gun, and next...

    Icarus Precision makes the best grips. I have the A.C.E. 320 X-Compact frame with a compact slide and a gas pedal/thumb rest. Feels amazing.

      It’s a great option and honestly it’s grown on me a bit since I made this video. I was mostly a Glock shooter in the past, so the Sig ergonomics just took me a while to get used to.

      @@mongooseguns2679 I have one of these guns myself, except mine is in all-Black and doesn't come with the manual safety. but I do occasionally use it as one of my personal protection handguns for everyday carry

    First comment of 2023? The Wilson combat grip module helps a smidge with the Beavertail and the tungsten rods help the recoil tip 20-30%

    My worry comes from the safety issues of the p320 line. Say what you will to me, but everyone knows that those instances about the 320’s going off are in the back of every sig p320’s owners’ minds.

      Like using the wrong holster or carrying it wrapped in a towel in a gym bag. Perhaps carrying in a Sherpa holster in a purse. Maybe carrying it in a pocket in sweat pants. Those safety issues.

      @@markmiela3937 Or lack of training on the pistol like the NYPD that was known to have training problems even on Glock triggers that Glock had to fix just for the NYPD. The military does not seem to have problems since the trigger was fixed but the military also has manual safeties. There are civilians that don't like manual safeties and they pay the price for it. I would have no problem carrying an M17/M18 because they have manual safeties. But then again I won't own any striker fired pistol without a manual safety.

      @@rbm6184 I’m not a fan of safeties, I think the only way I’d use one is if I carried a 1911 and wanted the hammer cocked.

    Thank you for review. Could you please check is it possible to shoot manually on P320.M17., i.e. manually loading ammo througought ejection hole into barrel and closing slide (keeping gun w/o magazine all time). Beretta 92FS that manual load'n'shoot possibility has, in case magazine is lost at all. Or make some video on guns test for this feature.

    • @mongooseguns2679
      @mongooseguns2679  Рік тому

      Yeah what you’re talking about is manually inserting a round into the chamber and dropping the slide. That’s possible on any handgun or rifle, but generally isn’t recommended because it causes extra stress on your extractor. But it’s definitely possible on the M17.

    • @woxiduswoxidus1167
      @woxiduswoxidus1167 Рік тому

      @@mongooseguns2679 Have heard some rumours that for Beretta92 it was military requirement and slide drop not break anything or required forces to move it to close position. For glock it possible w little force, on for MP looks like impossible at all w/o risk of breaking something. Since M17 is military grade pistol its become interesting such opportunity too.

    There’s actually a law enforcement officer in Medford Ma. That shot himself in the leg and is blaming the gun.

    With the amount of muzzle flip you are getting having your pistol a little front heavy is probably a bonus as if it was more balanced the muzzle flip would be more of a problem

    • @mongooseguns2679
      @mongooseguns2679  Рік тому +1

      That’s true, and I forgot to mention that the M18 has an even sharper rotational recoil due to that fact of less weight in front. I’ve heard some guys claim the M18 is easier for follow up shots because the lighter slide equals faster cycling of the action. But in any case there is a noticeable difference of a short vs long slide.

      @@mongooseguns2679 All I hear about this firearm is that it falls short of expectations. You don't sound too happy about it. This will be one of those firearms that will flood the second hand market when people are bored with it. For a while it will be a novelty because the US military has gone with it. They might decide to change it after 10 years when they realise they made a mistake. I'm British but I was in the Army. I did get a chance to shoot the sig p226 and that was OK. No one ever carried it in operations in Afghanistan when the novelty wore off so those pistols just occupied the armory
