    Niels, you are the best, and you truly love helping people. Between the courses at terminator college and your UA-cam videos, my game has shot straight up. I did this visualizing exercise tonight before my matches tonight and I shot better then I ever have. Didn’t miss and didn’t lose a single game. Thank you so much Niels!

    Niels, that was so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing! As a professional chess player and coach I can say that this type of visualization exercise is absolutely necessary to play great chess as well. It's sort of a secret amongst strong players, thank you so much again for your lovely contribution.

    Great video once again. I saw a video about combat sports regarding adrenaline dump. I experience such phenomenon while playing pool where your mind is overwhelmed by anxiety and pressure. I visualize my mind being in that state and I train my mind to come down and relax.

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому

      Thanks Jean! Adrenaline dump? That sounds interesting. Have to look that up 👍🏼

    • @seandesir7272
      @seandesir7272 3 роки тому +1

      @@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Yeah look that up. It can benefit your mental game. There are tons of videos on youtube regarding that phenomenon. In any type of competition, players or fighters experience adrenaline dump. When that occurs, your mind goes through four phases. Either you fight, flight, freeze or acquiesce. When you are playing a very strong player and there is alot at stake, the pressure can overwhelm you. When that occurs you can either fight back and play your best. You can also flight where u quit; when my game is really on, I can see fear in other players eyes where they run and don't want to play anymore. When u freeze is when your mind is overhelmed by anxiety and pressure and you reach a mental block where your game collapse. Acquiesce is when you are playing a really strong player, and he or she is playing their best; you know you are not gonna win, but you try to save face and not get embarrassed so the series won't be lopsided. Interesting phenomenon. After you do your research on that, maybe you can do a video about that. I am pretty sure all players even u probably experience that before. The thing is alot of players don't train their mind to cope with adrenaline dump while playing.

    • @seandesir7272
      @seandesir7272 3 роки тому +1

      @@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen In competition u can also use that as a psychological tool to make your opponents go through the last two phases of adrenaline dump which are freeze and acquiesce. You can apply so much pressure on them and never let them get comfortable on the pool table. Self doubt gonna creep in their mind where their confidence will be shocked and they will freeze. I am pretty sure you have seen your opponents's body language change when you are playing your best, and they start using a carefree and give up strokes. Thats when they are going through acquiesce.

    So, here is my problem. I get so nervous in certain situations I just cannot keep my emotions from sending me into freefall. There are times when I am better than others. For example: In last league action I played three players whose skill levels is quite a bit better than mine. I played my best pool against them and won in great style. This is a handicapped league and The first was spotting me 3 games. I shut him out 3-0. The second was a better player than me in a 7-4 race where I was the 4. In the third I played against a player who I had never beat and was calm through the match to the point where I knew I was going to win and I did.
    Then on the other side of the coin when I am playing against a weaker player an probably have to spot games I just go to pieces. Especially if I lose the first game in a 5-3 race or something similar. I start second guessing everything; Should I play safe, should I take a risky shot. You get the drift.
    I am working on some good sites I found on youtube on how to improve the mental game but I am telling you this is killing me.
    Any comments or suggests are definately appreciated.
