i have a 1400 California, been on Harley for 40 years and I dont know what made me buy this but its the best road /touring bike ever !!!!!!!!!!!!! blows any Harley away !!!! Cruse at 100 MPH, No wind buffeting !!! solid as a rock at any speed and any weather conditions !!!
I love my Guzzi Flying Fortress. I rented a Street Glide for a week and didn't love it. The Guzzi FF handles better, looks better and turns heads everywhere.
Does it have heated grips or seat ? If not , is does the company offer it as an accessory? I’m looking into a street glide special , but this MGFF is really nice ! I can’t wait to try one
Great review. I've gotten about 15,000 on mine now. It's my 10th Guzzi and quickly becoming my favorite. If you think they're good at less than 500 miles, wait til you hit the 10K mile mark. They really break free then.
for what its worth, I bought one, and it has exceeded my expectations by a mile. only 1000 of these were built (by hand) by MG, with 200 of those coming to the US
Thanks! It is indeed a very good working fairing I was surprised as it was both a fork mount fairing and more streamlined, but it pushed the air much better away than much larger designs.
I like this review! Thank you! Fabulous bike! Feel like this model is underrated. I could see myself on this....my advancement into my 30s is showing me that bikes like Triumph's Speedmaster are just too small for me especially with the lady friend on the back. This looks good! Very good review! Thank you again! Be safe!
Great job, now I would really like a chance to ride one... it's very unique looking. I believe I like it. Would have to travel a ways to even get to see one unfortunately.
Full dresser (bagger?)/ultra tourer really quite niche here in the UK, you see the very occasional Goldwing and the BMW K series around but they are real expensive here... I would love to see that motor or maybe the 1200 from the Griso in a Le Mans reboot, now that would sell!
I would love to see that as well. This is the first Guzzi engine that is Euro 5 ready therefore it allows it to continue on where as the 1200 had to go for now. So it would be lovely if they decided to give us a Griso 1400 SE.
My Moto Guzzi v7iii carbon dark is amazing bike the transverse v twin that they put in all Guzzis is strong and unrelenting, no matter how hard it works.I like it the way it is no need for power and speed upgrade. The only problem is i want a whole stable of Mr Guzzis bikes.
Could you please record the sound of the bike going through the gears for these vids. ? I watched the whole thing and only heard you talking. Gives me no idea of what the ride experience is like at all..
@@RabidHedgehog its an intriguing bike, though im wondering if it sits in that place where its fun at first, then ends up as a red headed step, where riding it makes you want something more specialized. What i mean is if your preference is to cruize it id be telling myself theres better cruisers. If your preference was twisties and sporty speeds, then id be telling myself theres better sport bikes. This happened to me with an Aprilia Futura. I was riding so hard decided just get a rsvr1000. Before that was K1200RS and thats a heavy pig to throw into turns, but she did it. Maybe i just need a GS. Lol. But this thing is too unique that it gets my interest.
This bike does have the accessory windshield added to it for added wind protection. I also know that Don is working on a passenger backrest. Great review.
Going to do a longer range review with the traditional audio from inside the helmet. Weather and a frozen trail rider on my headset led to some funny moments with the original audio.
Very good in depth review, I just wished you did not jerk the camera so much as it makes it difficult to watch. Setting the camera on helmets with the necessity to pan with your head makes the footage nauseous for some of us.
You must keep at least one hand on the handles at all times. If you don't do that, the torque spin will throw you to the right in a NY hurry. My 500cc BMW did it too. This one is 1400cc, so it responds quicker than mine. Dont try to show off by riding "No Hands". It doesnt work on this bike. The review you did was awesome!! These bikes are great for touring on. I just hope there is aftermarket parts for a top case and something to keep the passenger in his seat as these have a LOT of torque. I do mean a LOT. !!! Don't underestimate the torque!! Its not a bike for a sissyboy. That motor puts out lots of power like the narrator said.
Wow! Carbon fiber, and the whole nine yards! Who wouldn't love this Bike!! Those Italians did a great job in the R&D Department! And Yes, the heat when its cold or wet keeps you happy and your legs dry! Not even noticeable in summer and I live in Phoenix, Arizona where it's over 105*f most every day for 4 1/2 months of the year! Kudos to the dealership you have on Oklahoma City! It would be nice if they built a network of dealerships all over America!!
That would Definately be a YES !!😄😃☺💝 There AINT no better feeling when youre riding two up than a gorgeous girl wrapped around you from behind!! Thaats the most awesome of all!!
Love your reviews, they are much informative and enthusiastic than many other channels. I have a question about how is the MGX21 when you ride at slow speeds like 25 to 30 mph and when you ride in roads like the A1A in Florida. I am 5.8 and 175 pounds and was told that the bike is to heavy for me. Thanks and keep up with the excellent work. Cheers.By the way I am not a novice rider, I been riding for more than 30 years but I am not as strong as my golden years LOL.
This bike is an interesting one to get used to. The biggest thing is getting it off the stand. It has a large steering stabilizer that makes it tough to do the trick of turning the bike off the stand so to speak. Also the bike is top heavy as well. Is it too heavy for you? It is a maybe. It does have that taller saddle and if your legs are not easily on the ground then leverage will be hard to come by and you will not be able to easily lift it up. Holding at stop lights is pretty easy as once the bike is up it is balanced. I will say the wider saddle might hurt leverage again. If you can find one the best thing to do is sit on it and work everything for about 15 minutes and you will know. Riding at slower speeds is fine, though it has the typical 21 inch front end flop over in less than 10 MPH maneuvers. But 25 -30 is not like that.
@@RabidHedgehog Thanks for your answer I may better go with the V9 bobber sport which I like and is much more light and nimble. But comparing the prices the MGX21 now is a better bang per buck than the bobber I am also considering the V7 III Racer. I watched a video from you saying that the difference in power between the V7 & V9 is marginal and the V7 handles better, am I right. Cheers from Qatar.
Thanks for making the video. I need to ride one of these! I've been drooling over them since they came out. Heaviest bike I've owned was a BMW K1200S, but have ridden my father's old Kawi Vulcan 1500, which was 800 something lbs. I'm getting to the age a nice cruiser sounds like a good idea (last bike was a dual sport). I think I saw in the comments you bought this bike? How is it on longer rides? Is the stock seat any good for long distance?
Here is the follow-up to this video ua-cam.com/video/xyRSTZaiAyA/v-deo.html I did indeed purchase this very machine and I do believe that it is very good on longer rides. Stock saddle is good for that as well. I will say at first it takes a moment to figure out how to get your legs into a position to dodge heat on hotter days coming off the engine, but once you get there you feel nothing. This for me being 6 feet with 32 inch inseam just backing up my feet on the pegs and riding Harley style, which is legs out from the tank, and the air just flows right on by.
Test riding one tomorrow....still torn between the mgx-21 and the 1400 touring. Now that you have had this bike for a little while I wanted to ask you if you miss the foot floor boards from your other baggers?
I will always miss floorboards and heel-toe shifts. But the way the MGX tucks your feet in behind the V twin the wind does not effect you as a conventional touring bike with feet forward and pegs. It's still a nice ride and the vibes are not heavy in motion.
Might find one $10-12k in great shape today. 2021.. Might want a back rest for pillion, is a clean shot right off the rear to dump someone to the ground 😂
See that is what happens when Americans believe there is no replacement for displacement. So most of our engine sizes are over 1800CC to start on our touring motorcycles.... So yeah that happens.

There's a brand new, never been ridden MGX-21 near me for $14K. Soooo tempting.
If you ever get a chance to ride the Griso, I'd very much recommend it. One of my favorite bikes.

The crankshaft is longitudinal, versus transverse as in a Harley.
Never knew that we had a Guzzi dealer in Oklahoma. 👍
He just opened in December as a dealer.
You can get these cheap now like $15k or less. That makes this bike well worth it imo compared to bikes in that range.
This I can agree with.
It is worth it i advise any one that wants a original beast at a great price the time is now.
Really enjoyed this review. I am infatuated with Moto Guzzis ever though I have never ridden one. The hike build sounds great.
Greg Stone You should ride one. This bikes are great and will hook you.
I am with Ana, try and find a dealer with one, they are unique and full of character.
You've gotta look for the 85TT for coming around, nice guy doing the tour, AWESOME ADV bike. From what my boss said it's WAY smooth for a Guzzi.
They are sadly not getting close to Oklahoma. However, our dealer should be seeing them soon.
My dad had a Moto Guzzi when I was a kid. I believe it was a 1974 850. It was only a year or two old. This one you rode is definitely different.
They still have the old school styles like it. The V9 is about like the 850.
