Thank you for the guide on this. I too was able to find a switch I could use on amazon. I do have to say though that it was the worst experience I have ever had trying to de-solder those switches. I ended up using some solid core copper wire and wrapped it around all of the switches pins really tight then used my soldering iron to get enough heat into the solid core wire to get that garbage solder to let me pop the switch out. Clean up was a nightmare. Again thanks for the walk thru.
Thanks for this guide, very helpful. I did find the switch on Amazon for a much better price, there is nothing special about this part, very common, got 10 of them for $7.72 CDN. Search for "Momentary Tactile Tact Push Button Switch DIP 12 x 12 mm x 4.3 mm" I'm going to replace all 4 on my Flashback and have spares for next time.
I found this product on Amazon. Any updates on whether they worked well? I'd prefer not to order from Full Compass as they charge insane rates in shipping to Canada, but I'd like to know that these Amazon ones work before purchasing
Thanks guys...ive been fighting the switch for my flashback triple ever since the warranty ran out its been a dual delay instead of a triple...every once in a while it's will switch on.and then it's not turning off. Or holding down to save the selected effect....so it's been a pain. But spending 180$ on a used (discontinued) pedal when I can possibly fix it with 8$. Well let's order 20 switches and see how this goes. Ps sorry for the necromancy....
They're definitely helpful! I didn't bust it out for this job, not sure why. Maybe because I was trying to find an angle that the camera could catch without breaking the ribbon cable. Pretty sure I was using my hobby vise as a tripod, too, haha.
Very helpful, Scott...thank you :) However, I have to agree with Randall (with regard to a Helping Hands clip), I find them very useful for keeping the piece still when I'm soldering.
I have the same problem on my Spark Mini. What do you think about using a full size 2 pin momentary foot switch? I found this one on amazon, It's the only one could fit due to the lack of space of the original system.
Hmm, I'm not sure. I don't know whether that pedal works with a standard momentary switch or if it has something more going on. If you pull it apart and find only two leads going to the pins on the stock switch, it's a good bet the replacement you're looking at will work. I've just never seen the inside of the Spark Mini before. Good luck!
Thanks for finding the part number! As of 4/10/18, it looks as though the 7E34004211 part number is now obsolete and has been replaced by A09-00001-62933, which is also found on Full Compass at: www.fullcompass.com/prod/540045-TC-Electronic-A09-00001-62933 . The site mentions that it is the replacement for the 7E34004211.
I think this is actually the same part and this is simply a name change since TC was bought by Music Tribe (Behringer). Either way, you writing that part number in your comment is what made me find this video so that I could properly source a generic switch for my tuner. So I just wanted to say thanks!
I don't know much about that circuit, sorry. I would recommend emailing a photo of the pot to a few different online vendors and asking them if they know where you could find one.
Thanks for the video! If I wanted to replace the switches with something more rugged (so I don't worry it'll give out on a gig), can you recommend a replacement that would work well?
I wish I could. I really have never seen anything else like these. There may be something out there, but I have no idea where you'd find it, sorry. Good luck!
Now that I think of it, you might be able to do it with a standard SPST momentary, normally open. It looks like Line 6 uses the same kind of switches in their DL4, so watching a video about replacing those switches should give you something to go on. I recommend this one: ua-cam.com/video/cgWTiRtXmQ0/v-deo.html
Switch is probably this one SKHCBKA010 made by ALPS. Product page: www.alps.com/prod/info/E/HTML/Tact/SnapIn/SKHC/SKHC_list.html And it's NO WAY 10$ for one.

Thanks for writing this. I just put an order in for a replacement! You saved me $15 and I got 20 replacement switches instead of 1. 🎉
Great post. Thanks for sharing..

Thank you so much, this helped a lot.
You should buy a helping hands clip holder. It makes solder work so much easier.

I have a Flashback V1, I need to change the delay type selection potentiometer, but I can't find it anywhere. 😢

i think to remove the board or replace an output jack i must even uncrew all jacks from the back of the unit and then remove the board? 😢
Yes, I think that is true. It is a pain, but it's not as bad as it sounds.
Thanks for video ..i am not sure if it's my switch or firmware ..but my tap tempo switch is acting up .I will check switch when i get time .
