It’s been my experience you can’t go wrong with PureSound. I was skeptical but PureSound Blaster 20 strands have noticeably improved the sound of my Ludwig BB and Acro and that’s a bold statement

I really like the Grover wires. Seems like you get a very fast snare sound, with more shell tone.

I rather hear his drumming than listen to him talk . As far as the test to compare the snare wires , I didn't notice a difference so much that it made a big difference. That said, The would like to see more of him playing in a group situation of Rock, Jazz and Blues. If possible, Please post ...

I'm new to your channel and your stuff is really great. I too am a sucker for a supraphonic and it's my go to snare any day of the week. Wanted to ask if you've ever tried out a set of 42 strands on a 6½ aluminum?

sounds like the grovers have a little less reverberation? could also be that the factory wires were just old and stretched out.. either way it sounds good in my book! keep it up.. love all of your snare vids!

josher14 the factory Ludwig snares are just cheap. The Grover's have a little more attention paid to them. Plus you have the braided cable vs curly wire thing going on. The cable is heavier and contacts more of the head. You get more articulatation with less tension. Really opens up the drum.

How many strands are the Grover snares? They sound nice on that Black beauty. I usually use a 42 strand on mine. I'd like to try the Grover snares.

Dale's Drum Channel Zero easily google-able. They are the complete opposite of the 42 strands. The 42s hide the snare sound under a wash of wire slap. Desirable for some things. These get out of the way and let the drum speak. Also much more articulate, all other things equal.
