- Following last year’s hugely popular online event, we’re delighted to welcome Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad aka Dr Tim Winter to Bradford to continue the discussion of his latest book Travelling Home: Essays on Islam in Europe.
Dissecting the rise of Islamophobia on the basis of Muslim theological tradition, Murad describes how everywhere, the far right is on the march, with nationalist and populist parties thriving on the back of popular anxieties about Islam and the Muslim presence.
In this discussion he’ll examine the question: how should we react to the new Islamophobic movements now spreading in the West?

Wow, I have watched his talks about his book Travelling Home: Essays on Islam in Europe a couple of times in different settings and times, but he always deliver something unique and enlightening every time. This one session from you in particular, is quite inspiring. I left with brimming awe and inspiration. As someone from Asia living in Europe alone, with only my wife by my side, I am more than ever more eager to do endeavors of positive influence here in Europe. I pray to God to make this journey easy for me. Thank you Bradford Literature Festival for posting this, Thank you!

First of all, born Muslims who claim to be 'All Knowing' should not dictate dress code on convert Muslims. People who convert, they understand the modesty of Islam. To throw dress code dogma on them is not fair. Tawheed is in the heart n soul. No force should be applied. Respect of choices should be there.

....As though there are major conflicts in doing so?! He's not trying to teach his children Latin, old English or Sanskrit. He's attempting to pass on language that is already alive at home in some capacity.
