wat, a 4x4 channel not spending 20 large on a turbo upgrade, speechless. take not other channels, real world not fantasy world. well done on the merch lads. well done all round.
Just a tip guys, when you are going to hit a stud to try and jar them loose put the nuts on first in case you damage the start of the threads. Keep up the good work .
Quick easy tip. If you have a mig welder place a flat washer over the hole where the broken stud is. This will protect the surface surrounding the broken stud. Then grab a similar size nut and hold it against the washer. Make sure the end of the broken stud is clean. Weld to the end of the broken stud to the inside of the nut. Let it cool a bit and hopefully the weld is strong enough to wind the broken stud out. Repeat if the weld breaks.
Great merch. Send the same map with orders printed on quality paper so you can tick off on that at home and frame when your done. Run a competition for photos at each spot
👍👍👍 Another great vid. I really like the way you go about things and your thought processes. You have what is essentially a factory turbo (with all the obvious benefits of that) fitted for a grand. Every mod you have done on this jigger has been well thought out / planned and for a fraction of the cost that most blokes would typically incur 😎 Kudos to you 👍👍👍
Nice effort fellas, getting it done. Ps save yourself the bother and don't run the coolant limes to the turbo at all. It's common practice with diesel to run them without it. Gturbos badboy for example doesn't have coolant ports in it all all. It also takes some load off your cooling system as well. OEMs figured this out eventually and most diesel built after about 2005 will not have coolant galleries.
Lucky with the oil feed grub screw! My had rounded off so had to pull a risky one and use an easyout on it. Drilled through the screw and started leaking oil!
Love your content lads!!! I have a TB42 the same as Dan. Especially love vids on his rig as gives me good direction. Saw the merch & ordered a hoodie straight away. Keep it up
I won't draw coolant from the bottom of the block. Any debris that's in the cooling system settles in the bottom of the block and could end up in the turbo. I'd rather get the correct turbo thermostat housing and plumb into that. Otherwise good job lads👍👍👍
awesome stuff bois very very interesting and informative good onya guys give this mechanical mission a go (i wouldn't not that confident lol ) anyhow big thumbs up 👍
Don't worry about that bottom right exhaust stud, I snapped mine off and just left it not leaking or anything. Pretty much a motor out job to replace it aha. But good work
Check out an aftermarket stainless or alloy air box since the factory plastic ones tend to crack with age and your motor will then suck in dirt, had this happen of 4.2 GU ute
Or just send the same map with orders printed on quality paper so you can tick off on that at home and frame when your done. Run a competition for photos at each spot for a weekend away with the boys 4wding
if ya ever do it again like upgrade, bin the genuine manifold studs and use m10 unbrako grub screws. also, that sealant tastes a lot worse than it smells! 🤣
Is that the just race parts 14in1 gauge? If so mate you got your self a solid setup. Love mine. Ive changed cars twice and its easy enought to remove and install. Always been acurate and the alarms and peak are so nice to have in the sand. I must say though. You made me cringe when you shocked those studs with the hammer without a nut on the end. 😅 Keen to pick my self up a hoodie for sure guys. Ive been around since day dot for the most part and very keen to see where you blokes go with this channel. I expect to see 100k subs sooner or later 😉
Just a quick one, any reason you didnt just get your mate to mig weld in the 3/4bsp (or whatever size) threaded socked? you can just get those in mild/stainless whatever, weld them where ever you want. Don't see anyone doing much brazing these days (not thats theres anything wrong with that). Also unless the bottom end has TTY bolts, when the sump is off is a good time to inspect a big end/main bearing, see what sort of condition the engines in! just something I do for situational awareness
Love the design on the back. Much better than just another big logo. Also liam you know better than to loxeal fittings in shit spots. It may not be soon but it will come back to haunt you.
Hey fellas! Did you use a turbo fitting kit or did you buy all the fittings and gaskets and what not seperate? I’m putting a ht18 on my silver top in the coming months and can’t find the kit I’m needing, cheers!
Bought all the parts separately mate, just got to make a list of all the things you need and get all the right size fittings. There are kits you can buy that will eliminate some of the guess work but you still may have to source some bits yourself
wat, a 4x4 channel not spending 20 large on a turbo upgrade, speechless. take not other channels, real world not fantasy world. well done on the merch lads. well done all round.
Hard not the usual so we bought a 85k 79 series then threw 100k of mods at it
You all looked so excited it’s good to see you haven’t lost the fire boys
Just a tip guys, when you are going to hit a stud to try and jar them loose put the nuts on first in case you damage the start of the threads.

You fellas are killing it. Great usable tech yet again
Nothing wrong with the ht18 for a reliable touring rig.
Woohoo merch! Order placed guys hoodies and shirts look great!
Thanks Nathan!! really glad mate! we love them too, so happy with how they tuned out!
One of the best things I've done is gotten titanium exhaust studs and nuts, never gonna rust out never gonna snap
Some Aussie Arvo Beanies would be freakin grouse. Cheers guys

1 of my first videos I made was how to fit after market temp gauge on the td42 haha

I won't draw coolant from the bottom of the block. Any debris that's in the cooling system settles in the bottom of the block and could end up in the turbo. I'd rather get the correct turbo thermostat housing and plumb into that.
Otherwise good job lads👍👍👍

Should make the next designs with a tick box next to them to mark the spots you’ve gone.

Is that the just race parts 14in1 gauge? If so mate you got your self a solid setup.

I think thats a factory option snapped exhaust studs there i had the exact same snapped ones on both of my engines
Waking it up after 1/2 million km unreal
this is brilliant!!
Up 5 rocks
Love the design on the back. Much better than just another big logo.
Also liam you know better than to loxeal fittings in shit spots. It may not be soon but it will come back to haunt you.
Thanks Josh! luckily it doesn't work out being an issue!
Are you putting an Intercooler on as well!.
should get a pin board, pin a shirt up and everyone you go chuck a red pin 📍.
little idea for ya! hahah
Hey guys for the coolant temp sensor can you use a T piece to fit the factory thread instead of drilling and tapping a new one?
Ditch the water lines 👍
I have a LN46 2.2 diesel, non turbo. Going to add a turbo from a 2LT. I know it won’t add much power, but will it blow black smoke? Lol
Don't need water man! Even Nissan got rid of it on later model and no after market kits run them!
Fan from Apia Samoa 🇼🇸
use a genuine nissan air flilter, they work 100% better than any other filter
directional mic to cut the rain noise out
Ordered a hoodie boys 👌
Thanks so much Brett! Really appreciate it! :)
@@AussieArvos keep up the bids
Great content and dynamic between you 3
Awesome Jobs lads! next after the Turbo will be a Repaint hey? lol maybe getting that Legendex Berzerk Exhaust as well!!! stustustustuuuuu!!!!

Was that 1/8 npt you drilled out on the thermostat housing or 8 npt
How’s the GQ handling the ht18? Any problems ?
Hello, I have a Nissan Patrol B40 engine. Can I install a turbo for it? I am waiting for your responses
An odd question here but what is the lathe that is in the background? I think i may have the same one
Take a drink everytime you hear "pretty much" ;)
RIP the Bunno's hoodie ;)
Fuck you can hear that rain pouring on the shed at 6:59
