This is such a great clip! My family and Barbara’s were neighbors in Jackson Heights, Queens in the late ‘40s. They were a wonderful family. Her father, Howie, was a NYC Police Officer.
@@valentinr.dominguez2892 Not sure of the address (I wasn’t born yet) - but it was a community of army barracks erected for returning GI’s from WWII - Barbara’s Dad and mine were both vets.
I was a teenager when Dr. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band came out, but I knew that wasn’t correct. I had to look it up and remembered SGT Pepper. Aging
I must have been but a wee lad of 4 years or so, but I remember being absolutely mesmerized by that movie and watching it many times over. Something about it spoke to me on a deep level and l can still remember the way I connected with the concepts, as though there were events I remembered from an even earlier time... Could it have been prior to my birth? Perhaps a past life, or another plane of existence? Or maybe just a dream. So bizarre! Things that make you go hmmm.... 🤔
I still use that line of "It's better to look good than to feel good". And, yes, I know that's an insane thing to say and think, but it's funny as hell.
I lived through the entire span of SNL, starting when I was in high school, and really, for me, the mid-80s were actually their best shows. Great stuff!
I was 18 in 1975, so I’ve seen SNL since the first episode and this was probably the cast that saved the show after the Not Ready for Prime Time cast moved on.
"Dahling it's always better to look good than to feel good" became my motto after first time hearing it from Billy Crystal. I'm a 68-yr-old hippie desperately trying to stay hip, even though I am feeling my age with arthritis and other physical deficits. But dammit,....I DO look mahvelous! Billy Crysyal is so talented....and still looks mahvelous!
For reasons I can't fathom, I suddenly remembered this character and the "marvelous" bit. This was one of the big things of the 1980s. 30, 40 years later, and I can't tell you why.
I saw the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson the night Fernando Lamas was on and said to Johnny, “ You know I don’t feel so good, but I look Mavahlus.” One of the funniest things I’ve seen, but Fernando had cancer, Billy Crystal turned it into a skit character.
I remember this! My dad was still doing the "mahvelous" thing in the 90s. 😂 Wow! I never knew what it was from, I only know fernando lamas because of lucille ball, but now I see the whole story here.
They're all jewish. Definition of jewish: you're on the tv show or in the movie. These folks are the celestial night sky-worshipping clan, after all. The celestial angles sing and sky-globe trump... ets. Humanity is the pup.. pet on a string strung along by them.
Holly shit!!! Is this Billy Crystal???!! I was so into Ringo that I almost didn't recognize Billy till the very end, but that voice was kind of sending me signals throughout the video 🤣😂
Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood, 'I'm Gumby, dammit!', James Brown etc. Murphy and Crystal were the bright spots in those days. Imho. Oh, and Julia Louie-Dreyfuss.
Billy's good on the improv - but Martin Short beats him hands down with Jiminy Glick. Billy almost talked himself into a corner with the VCR non-gags, and I'm surprised that Ringo (the Goofy One) couldn't help him out more.
They look marvelous darling!! Simply marvelous… Remember it’s not how you feel. It is how you look.. And I feel like crap… I’m sure I don’t look any better.. But this still makes me laugh., Right on! Thank you..
An absolute comedic segment of Billy Crystal and pure ad lib genius--it really doesnt get better than this

Interesting. I always thought she was from England.
What part of Jackson Heights?

I say it all the time too 😅😅😅
Ringo and Barbara, still together and still 'look mahvelous'! Billy, too.
I was just thinking , thank goodness they’re all still with us.
amen& Ditto
I remember Billy on an HBO special joking about his daughter asking him if Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings. Classic. Ringo Forever!
I would like to know more about that
He also said that on the first show of this (1984-85) season. He did the monologue.
Could tell he'd done his background research. "That Beatle thing really took off!"

The Father Guido Sarducci years - the second and last SNL "golden age."
@@hiddenland8438 I think they meant the years before that, from 1981 to the beginning of 1985.
Barbara Bach, Billy Crystal, and Ringo Starr is quite the trifecta of talent.
Was made SIR Ringo this month!
About bloody time!
Love him and Barbara xx
Ringo and Barbara looked marvelous☮️☮️☮️☮️
Every woman I've said 'You look MAH velous!' to always smiles. Thanks Billy C
I wish Billy Crystal as Fernando Lamas was a villain on the 60's Batman.
40 years later and they have stayed married.
"Sting and Hal Linden..." (That's what stayed with me after 36 years...)
Billy Crystal is one of my favorites; comedic timing like no one else. 1:41

this SNL era has always been our favorite. And Ringo (and Barbara) do look Mah-vel-ous
ringo you look marvelous¡¡.i love you ringo..
Billy Crystal was so great on SNL 💜
Billy Crystal is the best! His imitations of other stars are spot on! He does Ali to a tee…..even Ali said he can do him better than he can! Lol!

This like the first podcast of history
A marvelous interview simply marvelous.
Still hilarious 40 years later
Cracks me up when Fernando says to Barbara - “if you were Jewish.” She is Jewish (at least on her father’s side).
They're all jewish. Definition of jewish: you're on the tv show or in the movie. These folks are the celestial night sky-worshipping clan, after all. The celestial angles sing and sky-globe trump... ets. Humanity is the pup.. pet on a string strung along by them.
Fernando joked that Ringo resembles Yassir Arafat.
dr pepper 😂🤣😂
Holly shit!!! Is this Billy Crystal???!! I was so into Ringo that I almost didn't recognize Billy till the very end, but that voice was kind of sending me signals throughout the video 🤣😂
From season 10 of "SNL"-Classic sketch!
I never really watched this at the time but Billy is very, very good with this character.
My kids still listen to that Dr. Pepper album! LOL
I looked for a meme with this guy. Couldn't find one.
You look marvelous!😂
I have to admit:
At first look i thought Jon Lovitz would play a perfect Ringo-Imitation ...
My favorite album is the Dr. Pepper one!
I like the White Claw album.
If I were to interview Barbara and Ringo, 99% of my time would be focused on Ringo!
FINALLY someone other than me makes the ‘Yasser Arafat’ connection,
ive been claiming they resemble each other for years now!!!!
Jane Curtin did it on Weekend Update back in the ‘70s.
HAPPY 75th Birthday Ring, RIngo, Ringi ;) and YOU Look Marvelous!!
Thats right
I Love It! You Look Mahvelous! Who’s still Mahvelous in 2021?!?!
Pure genius
Ringo’s reaction at 4:42 🤣✋
Crazy how this was improvised
ringo gave billy a kick under the table to tell him that he was uncomfortable
These were always good. These were always improvised. The best one was with Mr T and Hulk Hogan
Billy Chrystal is absolutely incredible here.
SNL is more than just an epic success ... it's the apex of cometic genius.
Oh man...CLASSIC, and yes, it was MARVELOUS, okay?!?!
Barbara Bach and Ringo Starr, With Billy Crystal as Fernando on Snl
Billy at his best! I also loved his take on the, late local tv talk show oddball, Joe Franklin.
She said gibberish with a hard G lmao.
Yeah... I never heard that before. It did sound odd. 😎
Billy Crystal was my favorite, excellent timing as just a nut🤣
You look marvelous, darling, and I mean that from my heart, which is deep inside my body
I´m totally in love with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
with who
I remember being up every Saturday night waiting for Eddie Murphy skit and I loved this Billy Crystal 🔮 character

Billy Crystal…Genius!
Comic genius. this Billy Crystal..having met Ricardo Montalban I actually like his impression of Ricardo better than the actual person
Wasn't he doing Fernando Llamas?
Fernando Llamas😊😊😊

I couldn’t tell that was Billy Crystal!
Fernando hideway

BRILLENT SHOW AND FUNNY.
Sting and Hal Linden!😅😅😅
Love it
Ringo was sweating like fuck
I'm on LSD binge watching Carlin hahaha.
I remember those days, how was it?
Ringo’s half in the bag.
Billy Crystal was a star on SNL at a time when he was surrounded by zeros.
Martin Short, Julia Louise-Dreyfus, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer are NOT zeros.
Unlike lennon ringo had great taste in a wife.
In the words of Joe B, C'mon mannnnn!
"if you would jewish you would know" 100%
Good laughs ❤
There are a few mentions here about Billy Crystal. Was Billy Crystal that guy doing the interview?
Yeah, and it was "marrrvelouss."
Help this is so funny- 😂
My friend with the beard that looks like Yasser Arafat 🤣
Just found out he was imitating a real person.
But who?
