I would. I need my Spotify and for some reason Spotify hasn't been running well on the latest operating system from Apple. Also, the battery life is far superior in the Mate 9.

So, far, I did have to factory reset it once after an update because of standby battery drain. Probably could have fixed it by erasing the cache, but I didn't know about that, then. Since then it is working great and I hope it stays that way.

My Mate 8 never slowed down, even after a few dirty flashed updates using TWRP. My Mate 9 is an improvement in every way and I couldn't be happier. I agree that the 1080p screen is not a deal breaker at all. It looks just as good as some 1440p screen and the colors and brightness blow away my V20. This phone is well worth the asking price.
Yeah it's a great phone, and I agree the display is better overall on the Mate 9 compared to the V20. I've been using my V20 less since I go this phone.
Will Frame. Ive got a question about the screen. My wife has the mate 8 and I've got the s7 edge: which is laggy. I'm thinking of going with the mate 9 but I'm not sure about the screen when i compare the mate 8 against my s7 edge i can see the difference. My question is : Is the mate 9 screen better than the mate 8 is it more vibrant. Honest opinion please.
Fair Human I have slightly better than perfect vision. I, too, can tell the difference between the GS7 Edge and Mate 8, however the bigger screen on the Mate 8 has always compensated for me. I don't think anything will ever really compare to AMOLED's saturated colors and deep blacks, but the Mate 9's screen is slightly more saturated and brighter than the Mate 8's and it's not a disappointment in any way to me. I'd rather have the screen real-estate, personally. I think the only thing that could trump it for me is a 6" AMOLED on something like the Nexus 6. So the short answer is that, yes, it is slightly more vibrant than the Mate 8. But I don't think anything can honestly compete with a Samsung AMOLED panel.

don't buy this phone if you like listening to music via headphones compete garbage for a 600 phonre. if you do buy it get a fiio k1 for 40. hauwei put less money in the packaging and pit a decent audio chip for headphines. buying a axon 7 next. smh

Great intro video. I bought the Mate 9 on day one at Best Buy and have been extremely happy with it. It was hard to switch off of my Oneplus 3 but now I have that as a solid backup. The only thing I don't like is the back panel fingerprint scanner... Just can't get used to it. It was my only gripe with the Nexus 6P as well. Overall, love this phone, running Nova Prime and have not found a reason to root. Looking forward to more videos and am glad I found this one!
I like the fingerprint scanner being on the back. :) It's been very convenient to me. At least it's not in a really stupid place like the Samsung S8... ugh.
Yeah I mentioned in the video, I would use the OEM charger before the full review, however it still doesn't charge "slow" with any other USB C charger. At least not as slow as some people have claimed.
Samsung S8 and LG G6 are not nice enough to pay extra for after doing the research, in my opinion. I have had my Mate 9 for a couple weeks and when I saw the other phones came out, I started researching like crazy and Mate 9 has decent sounding stereo speakers, 4000 mAh battery, good overall specs, I don't think it's worth paying extra for the better known brands in this case. The mono speakers on the LG and Samsung sound tinny. I think the waterproofing is causing this issue. In the 15 years I've used cell phones, I've never dropped my phone in water. So, I'll take a nicer sounding speaker instead.

Ik you glanced over the software in this video, but is there much bloat or changes to that of stock Android like found on the Pixel? Thinking of picking one up but I really enjoy stock on my Pixel XL and that's the only thing holding me back.
+Everyday · Izzy there is not much bloat on this phone. I mean there are some Huawei add ons but nothing you can't disable and replace with Google apps if you don't like it. My only main issue is still the battery intensive and background app prompts but those are also easily disabled

I have Best Buy Elite Plus membership, so I get 45 day return policy, that's my main reason. Plus I earn some solid rewards from that throughout the year.
Return policy on Amazon is decent. Many places only give you a lame 15 day window. Amazon does 30 days. Best buy sounds even better, but if you don't have that option. I have T-Mobile service.

Pretty good. I think the stereo speakers are superior to many other high end phones mono speakers out right now. Huawei even sounds better when using it on mono - gets louder and not tinny. I compared it with LG V20 and G6, and Samsung S8. I don't know about how it compares to iPhone, but I don't like iPhones. I just popped in some basic Sony bass headphones and the sound quality through the headphone jack sounds good to me while listening to Kpop on Spotify. Some say that LGs are definitely superior there, I couldn't tell ya, but I'm pretty satisfied with the way the Mate 9 sounds. Personally, it's the best I've ever heard, but I haven't gotten a chance to check out any of the really fancy stuff since I got other priorities. :)
