JZ VR the first design leak by phonearena about a prototype. Plus, I don't want a fingerprint scanner at front which Huawei has been strongly reported of doing. I was planning to buy the P10 Plus but if Huawei wrecks the device, I might move to the new iPhone or Galaxy device
I'm really considering this phone, but I'm not sure about the price. I had the Mate7, but didn't really like the display. I found myself missing qHD. I definitely agree! Without the Note7, which was my daily driver, I have not been able to fill that phablet void. I have been looking for another phone since the recall but have yet to find my replacement.
U Droid Mania I'm considering this too, but the price? Still enjoying my Note 7 until it becomes available in the US. I hear the US version will completely support US 4 g LTE bands!
U Droid Mania honor 8 performs very well, close to the mate 9 in many ways (but.obviously not.all) and can.be found so cheap that its silly (at least in.europe) making it the most bang for.buck alternative imo
I love this phone. I think the display is incredible! I simply love it. I can't stop staring at this display. best 1080p display I've ever seen. super fast and fluid. this is a beast of a phone. love the speakers as well
I don't have any particular problem with Huawei's OS but this new no icon notification isn't cool. Anyways I like this phone, and it's my eternal dilemma again, what to do lol, apart of the bigger and more confortable screen, better battery and not so fragile back, the Mate isn't that much better than the S7 edge. If only the v20 would come to europe :/
Are you kidding, way better performance+SOC, way better cameras, way better fingerprint sensor, way better stereo speakers, IR blaster, faster charging etc. on top of everything you mentioned, it's a generation ahead of the S7 Edge.
JZ VR Actually the S7 SoC has proved to be hard to beat, and although the Mate 9 has a newer generation of Mali graphics, it still has a lower core count than the actual Mali on the S7. Further, we will need to see if Huawei finally adopted a faster storage, as for the P9 line they were stuck with emmc. The speaker will be like the P9 plus, good, but headphone output seams to be terrible just like it's small brother, the edge has a decent quality and a loud amp I'm almost 2 to 4 levels lower than the maximum. With the P9 plus I needed every preamp and replaygain available. For the camera, until Juan's review is out my bet goes for good pictures but not so great as a point and shoot specially in the case of party / night pics, and a meh video. For me Ir is not needed. The only thing I forgot was the firgeprint sensor, Samsung's offering is a laugh of a bad implementation. The mate 9 is a great phone, talking size, I like it pretty much, but for the 250€ (or more) that I would need to pay for it, is not balanced, and it lacks a great feature that have been with almost all my phones since 2013, IP rating.
Rena Chan more number of Cores on a different GPU doesn't mean that the one with more cores performs better. G71MP8 has better over all power considering the fact that it is running a 1080p display instead of a 1440p
S Tech Although it is difficult to calculate, benchmark results of the 12 core T880 aren't that far behind of the 8 core G71. And looking forward, I guess the new Exynos will pack a faster G71. In my experience, the screen resolution doesn't seams to affect anything else than battery performance, I see no performance difference between FHD and WQHD
Rena Chan It effects gaming performance a lot. Try turning a game's graphics to 2k from 1080p and you'll see the difference. Plus, The S8 is gonna have a 4k display probably so it will need a lot of Cores to power that display
It's exciting to see a little more competition. Huawei is starting to figure north america out, which is exactly what we were hoping for after the Nexus 6P.
Amazing battery, good camera and consistent update support is what I want. This would be my choice along side but not after pixel XL given it ticks almost 2 of my 3 wishes perfectly.

ijuat sold my mate 8 to get oneplus 3t. don't get me wrong I loved it. stepper battery life fast and fluid. but I missed cm Roms. I'm sure mate 9 is a beast but oneplus is greater at alot less..

can i be honest with you guys? i traded my galaxy S7 Edge for this phone, and boy do i regret it. i hated the freaking curves so i wanted a more rectangular phone, but it costed me an eye because what i see now it's worth damaging your sight to be able to ignore it. The resolution (the lack of) is very noticeable, the screen does indeed look softer, also, the LCD panel won't do any benefit to it, the colors look very bad. in THIS very video, it says that the camera is great, and well, it kinda is, but the low light capabilities (THE LACK OF) are a deal braker, for real!! it takes grainier pictures than a freaking iphone 4 with the damn front facing camera, it's basically useless if you want to take a selfie with some friends or your gf. it keeps hunting and hunting for focus once you want to use the front camera, again, the grain is tooo intense, but still, i didn't get decent enough results with the rear cameras during the night with a white bulb illuminating my room, i honestly can't say i have been spoiled by sammy since i barely used the S7 edge for 2 months. I can't say Juan lied at all, my buddy knows his stuff, but maybe the Pocketnow team were very soft on this phone's cameras, i do gotta see if i can take great crispy pictures with the rear camera, but so far, i feel like i bought a 200$ potato (that's what the front facing camera performance makes me feel like).
I'll say this. R.I.P. Note 7. You were real good son. You just couldn't hold it in. That Mate 9's looking like a seriously good alternative if you don't really mind not having the S Pen. But that notification thing, though. WHY?!
UPDATE: A software OTA now sorts out the notifications. It's almost perfect now. Also, I presume the real camera review will be out after a while because said update improved camera performance.

I guarantee that Huawei is going to be huge in American markets. I will definitely ditch my 6 year commitment to Samsung for Huawei.
