Kratos and Freya reviving Valkyries should have been a mission
The whole recruting the realms should have been an entire game
Eh granted I think it adds a lot to see other characters than main protagonists doing things themselves, or at least implied to have done things themselves offscreen, doing absolutely everything for everyone hurts immersion
@@josend kind of feel this entire game could have been stretched put to make a trilogy (including GOW 4) but by doing so the plot would feel stretched, by cramming it all into this game at times it felt rushed, I don't think there's a middle ground, though I really hope several characters from these 2 games are in GOW6
@@The_winds_of_change i disagree. There is tons of material to add to fill 3 games. There are dozen of gods they left out, also many giants. Ragnarok itself could have been a single game.
@@josend thing is you have to follow the 3 section story rule; beginning, middle and end.
Ragnarok is the end and if you made a third game that JUST showed the events of the invasion and destruction of asgard, it would have nothing but pacing issues
I like how soft spoken they are, they share a similar texture to kratos in "warriors who have fought so much they have no need to boast" I know kratos is in a league of his own but still, it really fits

Eh I would think only Sigrun could properly kick Odin's ass. Sure the others were tough... but not as Tough as Their queen of course.

The only ones that were truly hard were the ones who spammed the Ground Stomp
Being brought back as shield maidens probably took a lot of their strength though.
The army summoning would’ve been a little bit better if we actually saw the hordes of elves and vanir and hel walkers with us

Considering the game is 90% cutscene, I feel like they could’ve at least put some cinematic to make it look like you and your companions weren’t the only ones there.
We see the elves swarming the walls, until Thor does a thunderclap and scatters them.

Hildr: "Thank you for freeing me and my sisters."
Kratos who was doing a 100% completion run: "It had to be done."
Hildir knowing it's an optional fight and still sore from ripped of wings: "No, it didn't."

@@WonkyTonkBottyberserkers were nowhere near as difficult as the valkyries their attacks were not only predictable but also just very annoying with cheap tactics like that 3 berserker fight.

Really though the fire realm one was a bitch to fight as she was purple health and the first valkyrie I came across. Took me a solid 5 hours. Didn't even have the blades of chaos.
I'm on the final Valkyrie in the 2017 game and after 20 tries before Ragnarok came out I gave up lol
Once you equip their armor and upgrade them, the rest of valkyries are way easier to deal with.
Every color marks difficulty.
One you fought was 6 level.
I learned that after it took me many times with being defeated by Sigrun.
All that time was in my inventory.
I used that maximum axe bifrost shoot on her which deals massive damage with the armor on.
@@ZeePro-5054 my tactic was to learn what I can stagger.
Most of her moves that lifts her into the air you can stagger with Atreus or with a thrown axe.
I also use the slow motion trinket which paired with the blades of chaos spin attack to cause a lot of damage. I also use the slow mo to run away and find health if there is any.
Atreus uses fully upgraded wolves as they stagger.
I use the surtr pommel on axe for fire attack as this staggers.
Frost weapon upgrade for frost attacks which also stagger.
All the Valkyries in this scene:
Eir,Gunnr,Göndul,Hildr,Olrun,Róta,Kara,Geirdriful + Freya & Sigrun And there's also Gná,Thrud,Mist and Hrist In Asgard We actually have 14 Valkyries in this game in total for now Of course because the Thor's daughter is still in training
The only thing missing was 14 Extra Valkyries that are not in the 2 games and were not even mentioned In the game,maybe in the next game we will have all of them including the + 14 of them that are missing
in the original Mythology there are 28 Valkyries In total
And the game from what l can understand,it is also the same There are 28 Valkyries,we just need the rest to appear,hopefully in a DLC or next game They will be included and explored 🤔😌🥲😭🙏👍 like and Bye!

If I remember correctly Eir is the healer of the group, still her caring nature is matched by her and her sisters ferocity in battle. So don't try funny things with this nurse, there is no Hippocratic oath here and it just would not be good for you.
I even red in the codex Kratos wished to fight alongside a Valkyrie and he got his wish
I got a lil PTSD when I saw the them. Especially Gunnar & Sigrun... my god they were hell in the 2018 game😂😂

If i am not wrong, they all choose to fight, but some of them are on others realms, with the others armys

I dunno why but part of me wants to believe Eir has a bit of Frey reborn in her. It's dumb but it's just weird Atreus heard his mom through her and not the whole game.
She is the most motherly of the Valkyries, being the only healer
@@bluemutt9964 Damn it, oh well. I wanted a little hint of Frey with Atreus since she is her mother. I know they focused on Kratos with her but I wanted at least 1 moment with mother and son giants and giving him the courage to venture forth on his own like the ending.

There is an army of valkyries attacking Asgard.
Plus it could be the VA's couldn't come to voice them which is why they didn't show in game.

Athena ascended in, but did not die in GoW3. She had her ambitions supposedly crushed by Kratos, but she didn't act like it was the defeat we were told it was. Instead, she acted like it was a minor setback.
Left Kratos to die? Or did she. She is after all the greek goddess of knowledge and wisdom. When she ascended it is probably that she became even more so an embodiment of that.
Do you remember the glow effects she had? The green/gold/white. Kinda looks like the portal. The lettering on the mask, Greek. In GoW2018 Athena really does appear before Kratos...she was deliberately letting him live his life the way he wanted...or so he thought.
The Greek pantheon falls in 900AD, but the Norse Pantion's earliest mentions are of the same time period.
Kratos mentions he regretted not fighting at the Hot Gates with king Leonidas, but that was in 480 BC. When Zues sacked Sparta, that was supposed to mimic an earthquake from 464 BC. So we know Kratos lived a normal mortal life for the most part in Greece. However, we also can't imagine that he spent 900 years there...
There's only one real possibility. Aion. The greek god of all encompassing time. Chronos represents the past, present, and future. Segmented time. Aion, however, represents everything from beginning to end and repeating again. He is akin to an oroboros, and Kratos never killed him.
Here's my theory...
Kratos released hope, Athena threw her hissy fit, not cause her dreams are dashed, but because shit just got harder for her to achieve her goals, and order the world how she saw fit. Then, she remembers, Aion still lives. Due to her vastness in knowledge, she also knows about the Nordic pantheon that will spring up in the north roughly 1500 years from then...and she also knows, what Kratos needs to become a person interested in building is a family and friends.
So...she finds Aion while Kratos crawls off the cliff. She asks Aion to send her forward to the birthplace of the Nordic pantheon. She tells Ghoa of the visions, and she creates the mask to torment Odin. Since odin covets Knowledge the most, there might also be the possibility she event went as far as tempting him. Manipulating him into ceaseless toiling. She aims to "soften the target". She is playing 5d chess, but that would be completely in character for her...
Kratos did not loose all his hope, and when she forced his head upwards at the end of GoW3, and her demenor changed..it was cause she could still see it in him, and knew he didn't really want to die, he had saved hope for himself, so his fate breaking ability was still there. He was "still useful to her after all".
Such a good plot device tbh, can be actually really good if the Devs give more importance to it, I know Cory Barlog definitely meant to do something more with Athena's ascension but let's see what the new directors do with it
When the entire 3 years it has been constantly been snowing, it can get hard to keep track. All your summer, spring, and falls no longer exist and now replaced with winter, winter, and winter.

@@klutzspecter3470 Mimir did say that time moves differently in different realms, and since the Valkyries were in Valhalla as soon as Kratos killed their corrupted selves, I'm sure they must've been staying there longer than 3 years
I think the only flaw of gow Ragnarok was not having the game focused in actually gathering an army... For example, take mass effect trilogy, on ME1 we have the presentation of the ME universe and chars, while meeting the main squadmates to fight sovereign at the end, in ME2 ur basically gathering an entire squad/army of competent talents to fight the collectors and stop/delay the reapers from appearing in the Milky Way, and lastly ME3 when the reapers appear and you need to gather all what's left of the Milky Way military power to fight the reapers united under one command... This on Gow Ragnarok could be way awesome and better worked since they had time and was not being pressured to have the game out asap like ME3 (one reason the game itself feels kinda lacking for a closure of the trilogy, rushed to be more precise) but im content with the result, could be better tho

This game should have more Valkyries in asgard protecting Odin instead of just 3 of them it's not possible that there wasn't a group of Valkyries that would follow Odin's/ the Queen Gná orders and the other part of Freya/Frigg And ex queen Sigrun Very strange,it was supposed to have a maximum of 10 or more Valkyries in Asgard And yet 2 Creatures that are not in this game the mysterious wolf Horofiltner and the Kraken + the return of the dragons that we saved in the first game and they have connections with the dragon slayers Beowulf,Sigurd and Siegfried Very sad that it happened this way 🤔🥺😭 like and Bye!
