I have my 17 week old blue fetch water bottles when packing lunches. I set them out on the ground and tell him to bring them to me. He will now bring the empty water bottles to recycling bin.
Love love this breed!! I've had two. Best dog ever. Agree with everything he says. They are velcro dogs but boy, no better freind could you find. They are loyal and fun. Mine truly did watch my every move. They would herd my horses and then run 10 miles with me, and still want to play when we got back. Their energy is endless.
My Bluey, Zara, has slept behind my legs since the day I brought her home at age six weeks 11 years ago. A Cattle Dog is for life your most loyal friend.
My blue heeler Pancho is about 8 months old now. Incredibly smart, loving and loyal. He is housebroken, will sit, shakes hands, lay down, roll over and not grab food or treats until I tell him go ahead. I put ribeye on the ground and he waits . We love him. Very smart but loves to play . Can play all day. I take him for a couple of long walks a day and play fetch with him. That seems to wear him out. I can't say enough how much me and my wife love that dog. His learning ability is insane . Best dogs in the world for the right owners
My blues 12. Best girl ever. Never nipped, good listener (except bring me the ball back lol), loves kids, smart easy to train even at her age. She's great to go wherever with me too. Don't know what I'd do without her. My best friend ♥️
One of the best videos on heelers I've seen. You nailed it. The word is INTENSE! Intensely loyal. Intensely loving. Intensely intelligent. It's all on the owner. Nipping, aggressive behavior, etc can all be handled (easily) if you get out in front of these issues. Only get a heeler if you're looking for a go everywhere with you sidekick (including lots of adventures). They respond incredibly well to voice commands (great trail dogs).
I’ve got two female Blue’s and they’re absolutely incredible dogs, easy to train if you get past the stubborn attitude they have, loyal to a T, love to be with their chosen master, love to run, swim, jump and play! Just all around great breed to have if you have the proper time and energy to spend with them ❤
@Phuque Meeded every dog is different, my older heeler loves the water, always has however, my younger girl it took quite a bit of time to get her adjusted to it, and she still doesn’t really like the hose lol
I have a red heeler and he's THE best dog I've ever had. He sticks to me like velcro, protects me from other dogs jumping on me at the park, herds my cats, and snuggles with me at night. He actually loves to spoon. He also needs a good game of fetch once a day and an hour long walk. But, they're also very cautious dogs. They sometimes need time to adjust to new "things". Super sensitive little buddies with huge hearts!!

I tell the human girls i want the 4 legged girls tired.....that grandbaby will wear dogs out playing, fetching....she even taught Dakota ( 3yr old) how to *hunt* crickets and *rangle* lizards. Allllll 4 girls are a handful but they tire each other out. Sooooo...a tired heeler is a good heeler....same as a tired 9yr little girl is a good little girl...🤪🤷♀️
We raised them in the 70’s. The smartest dogs I have ever had. My pup was named Ambush for a reason. Those dogs were ranch dogs and would get the cows in by themselves every evening. But they were fun and loving family dogs. Ambush would climb trees with me and was so loyal. Back then in the 70’s they were not a well known breed. When the pups were born white we were a little shocked. There colors came in nicely in no time.
I just rescued 4 Blue Heelers while in Kentucky. I got them their first shots and brought them back to Ohio. It only took me a couple of weeks to get them re-homed. They were so beautiful I couldn't just leave them to get ran over
I have two red cattle dogs and they are 14yo & 12 yo boys. They are smart so at the beginning, I did not repeat the commands and praise well if they do correctly and training was easy. I have never washed them unless if they roll over animal waste because they shed hair so much. The smell is actually from what they eat as well. They never smell if you pull hair a little by a little every time when you walk. Everything in this video is so true. Wish every owner of cattle dog watch this it. Thank you for uploading.
Thanks for the nice video, tips, and pics. Had/have heelers a long time. We have four currently. Agree with everything…except…. Brushing. Most heeler coats don’t need routine grooming. Ours don’t and prior heelers never did. Agree if you don’t want heeler hair in your home brushing is great as they shed horribly. But for outdoor dogs their coats seem relatively impervious to briars, mud, matting, etc…. Right now I’m looking at our four heelers and my wife said last time she laid a brush on one was 7 months ago, and their coats are perfect.
My heeler is 13. I adore him. He has slowed down now but still loves bringing me anything I can toss. He knows a whole bunch of commands. These dogs are amazing.
Solid advice for any breed, but heelers are extra bitey. Border collies are also notorious nippers. I used to work cattle, got bit by lots of dogs. Never injurious bites though.
I found that herding training gave my ACD the training about what she could/could not herd. She could herd livestock, never people. An ACD's job needs to provide mental stimulation while receiving positive reinforcement. I learned to use hand signals to remove my verbal frustration when we were herding and running agility trials, it kept her from shutting down. All training with ACDs must be done with positive reinforcement, they do not respond to punishment style discipline.
@@leejennifercorlewayres9193 Great question. I'd have other herders before and they responded to discipline, even tone of voice. Not my red heeler. She just pushes back harder. Watch a vid of heelers herding cattle and you'll see, when the cattle come them, they see it as a challenge. After much trial and error, I found out calmly putting her on the leash, even in the house will correct the behaviour. Mostly only have to do it once.
They're definitely full of energy. We don't have livestock, but we got a frisbee and Bailey will run all day and half the night. She just has a go speed lol.
I have a red heeler and I take her to work with me. I'm in home construction so it's outside and she gets to follow me around and when I'm carrying material I will give her something to carry with me. She even figured out how to climb a ladder by watching me!
I have a year old blue heeler and I love him. He is my baby, however he is a Runt of his litter so he has short person syndrome. I am still working on this with him, but as soon as you enter our home and pick a place to sit that is your place. He will heard your back to it and bite you if you get out of your place too fast. I have a friend who has a scar on the back of their leg because of my dog. Great dog, but waaaay to protective of me. I have socialized him a lot since I got him at 8 weeks, but he is a stubborn dog and likes things a particular way
@Phuque Meeded Actually I didn't pick a cattle dog, I didn't even know what he was until after he had stole my hart. Stanley is a mix, part healer and part rat terrier. I love him but he is a handful.
We’ve always had heelers, they never nipped family, around others they are overprotective of family and ranch. Best and happiest when they have places to roam freely to explore. Ponds, they like to lay around under trailers, tractors, barns, porches rather than inside the home. Cattle is their business; speed, energy, endurance, intelligence never fades even in the most extreme weather and circumstances. While other dogs are completely spent, heelers are asking for more work. Great for those in the military, those in leadership roles, manual labor type of people bc they like active people. Playful energetic happy dogs. Fearless lol
I have a female blue heeler and a male red heeler and I will say I notice that my blue catches on to commands a lot quicker than my red so I've had to adjust my level of patience when it comes to training each and not let one give me high expectations for the other.
I miss my mattie moe :( she was incredibly fierce. Loyal. Toooooooo smart. She'd move kitchen chairs to get anything off the counter if we left it... butter was her favorite... and she had a weird thing for coffee.. she'd pick it up unattended cups by opening her mouth while her nose was in the cup and Carry it to a surface it wouldn't soak into in a room no one was in..so she could enjoy it... Had her flaws and it was our fault (she didn't get along with very small dogs she saw them as prey. She got along with her sized and bigger and we socialized her at dog parks plenty ... just never small dogs and didn't know it was a problem until it was) but besides that... she was my mom's dog. She raised us kids... she was so smart she understood life. I swear she understood that my mom was boss and that we were my moms kids. And it was mattis job to watch over us and love us. She understood us leaving the nest and was happy when we came back from semesters at school. She was a great dog and knowing what I know now after raising other dogs.. her flaws were our faults and she wouldn't have had them.
I just buried Lacy-my nutcase Heeler. The mother of many numb-skulled love machines. One of my Heelers "Jobs" is to bite through metal fences and destroy his truck chain. This episode is to be considered a warning. If you need blankets and replacement for the down coat that get chewed up- they have a wonderful down layer- as mentioned- that can be used for down stuffing, lovely silver/tumbleweed toupees, and an excellent kindling fire starter. I do love my little "Spectrum Heroes".
I have a well trained blue healer that is a service dog and she goes out three times a day and we play ball or she goes into the pool and swims we bathe her we brush her we do everything this video says how do I not so much stop her from nipping but prevent that behavior with my friends and my husband. When we travel in the vehicle I got stopped by police for kind of swerving a little bit on the road but my dog jumped into the front seat and she has her backseat it is lovely it’s a great little environment for her it’s lifted so she is part of the family but she barks so much I thought she was going to come right out of the car and get this police officer so I don’t know how to stop that particular behavior with her barking at everybody because this is new and I think it’s a protective mechanism against me being harmed but is there something that I can do any advice would be nice
We got ours from local shelter when he was 2. He is fantastic except he is barrier aggressive or ifcanother dog growls. Then he becomes wild. He is happy to be inside with 5bother dogs with no problems. Any advice?
Great friends I brought home a rescue kitten I found on the side of the road tiny lil thing my female blue adopted her right off as her baby to the point of letting the kitten nurse on her 3yr later and God help anyone who messes with that kitten lol

this is my 3rd female heeler. the 1st 2 [RIP] loved to ride but this one~ Outlaw~ coming home from the vet 1st time got car sick, i thought that was really odd, but then she didn't EVEN want anything to do with the truck. so i left her home then after about 4 weeks i would have pick her up and put her in the truck she would huddle down and shake like a leaf on a tree but she don't get sick anymore! 4 years later i have to put her on a lease and when we go toward the truck she pins her ears back and goes into a crouching/ walking mode but when i say load up she will. and all she wants to do is me rub her. very rarely will she go look out the window! your puppy should out grow it. i know this didn't help you a bit but i had fun typing it! so you and your heeler have a great one!
I have a Border Collie mix puppy and then a friend had a Blue puppy. They live in a TRAILER park!!!🤦 So of course she was "too much". So we took her too. I LOVE Blue Heelers. Just put mine down and he was the BEST farm dog yet!!!! Broke my heart. So she's been healing for me. She IS extremely dominant with the Collie and he's not having it!!!! So we have some aggression, mostly with food. So lots of training and it's better. But NONSTOP play, those two!!! She's a wrestler! So he outruns her!!!😆 Love them both. Great dogs!!!❤️
I got my mix at 3 months. At six months no more nipping. It sucked but we did it! Also 2 hours at the dog park a day. Then two 20 min walks. He's a puppy so he can't do more then that right now. He looooves my toddler but definitely watch them play for the first few months and teach them how to play with kids.
@Phuque Meeded people don't realize that the puppies mom would have but the shit out of the pup, blueys are not to be fucked with you can't just use positive reinforcement on them or they will bite. Like absolutely will bite someone someday. People are such pussies dude. Have they never seen a mom dog correct their puppies?! It's a lot worse then a backhand. I actually had a littler of puppies once and the mom broke one of the puppies jaw for misbehaving. $5k later the dog was fine but that's how dogs treat eachother. They aren't people.

Look at how their mothers correct them, they use violence. They are dogs, remember they don't talk the way you do or have feelings the way you do. Yup. One of my two still nips at 4 months old, but we're working on it. One punched me in the eye with their nose and gave me a raging eye infection and 13 hours in the ER...
My puppers baby Minerva was 3rd generation from a pit box mix that bread with a ferril wild dog with obviously was a Queensland or blue healer because all these traits were present in her both positive and negative ones her grandmother was very smart as well naturally protecting children and herding them away from the busy streets baby Minerva got cancer right after my daughter was born and I couldn't afford to get the tumor removed after getting my truck repaired even after that tumor had gotten so big and I'm sure it was painful my daughter would crawl over her and she would just be cool with it like show no pain I would tell my daughter that she couldn't do that and my puppers would look at me like "don't worry dad I got this" I'm crying as I write this I miss her so much 😢 sorry for the lack punctuation
@Dogs Now beyond the words to describe how much she meant to me and I don't know how to let her go I feel like I have let her down by not being able to save her yes she was older 13. But her grandmother was about 18 when she passed away and although I gave her the best too science did not have as good of food available and the only thing that I can say is not getting her fixed was the reason and That was definitely my fault btw one of the unique things about her and her brother was they were both born without tails which seems to be the reason for their dog aggression that was one thing I could not break even though it was only when she was with me or my gf a quality I could not break from her her other brother that lived was with a tail and he was very docile
make this decision to get one very very carefully. They are a lot of dog. Most people cannot keep up with what they need. Mine consumes a huge amount of my time everyday.

I try to find the discount for we eat raw or whatever the dog food was that you support and I couldn’t find it. The other thing I wanted to say is our dog is extremely well trained, but I am very concerned because I think we’ve become a little lax And she’s normally on a harness when she’s around people and out and I’ve taken it off of her around the home and I noticed that her behavior is getting a little different and she does nip a lot and I’m trying to figure out how to stop it without being mean she nearly broke my nose one day coming at me and it wasn’t really mean it was more place anyway if anybody has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise she’s the most amazing dog I’ve ever owned.

I have to retrieve her from her hiding place. She is better outside of the house. I do take her for excercise everyday.
alot of people say you should never trim an ACD coat but thats REDICILIOUS...I "SHEER" my ACDs every spring, it literally doubles their exercise mileage! DEFFINATLY a farm dog thats runs better when buzzed in the summer heat!
You can do things like check around the house or hide things for her ro find. You can teach them all sorts of things, like bring. I can have my heeler bring socks to my wife or whatever.
Grasshopper is three now she will work cows or goats and rides a tractor all day long. I don't have to tell her to get on the tractor she is always on and waiting on me. she is only dog at the park that will run the entire obstacle course on her own ,just send her. She is totally a one man dog and thinks she's a trained personal protection dog, she will not take any kind of food or treats from anyone but me. These dogs don't have to wait on commands they are always reading your mind ,I think something and she is already doing it lol
his a good dog hes just mean to people if they are in the house and it takes a few meet ups for him to get used to them and he hates other dogs in the house but hes calm outside with people and other dogs and im busy alot so i dont take him out often
Mine ACD is given the best, but I can't trust him anymore. The best dog ever.. worthy of the effort, but taken a turn. He has Never bit me, but now open teeth Growling with biting moves. He does recognize his mistake and makes apologies with licking my hand etc. and we're OK (but reserved trust) for a couple days. He's like obsessive.. he looses it. I've always suppressed nipping.. tolerated some gentle teeth play. Even tried pinching contests where I pinch and he teeth plays. He constantly challenges me for Alpha.. which I suppress by threatening a Spritz of flea spray he hates. He HATES getting wet, or me brushing his hair. He KNOWS the deal with nipping. Anyway.. Now it's Police Dog Boot Camp.. He will either totally turn on me, run away, or submit. Question: He is 14 months old, Never been neutered.. I resisted due to current medical circumstances. Would Neutering suppress his aggressiveness? Too Late? Just Train harder? I love the guy, but will no put up with open teeth growling. Get a Muzzle? Too Late? Trip to the pound?
They play rough and can overwhelm the smaller dog. I have to keep a close watch and step in with the spray bottle when my bored yearling heeler starts pestering the 14 year old trying to rest chihuahua. But most of the time they get along OK. However we got the heeler at 6 weeks of age, so she learned to accept the smaller dog as family from the beginning.
Help !!! Just moved in with my grandma and her heeler hates me . BUT he wants to play fetch ALL the time . He’ll bring me a ball and god dammit he’s amazingly athletic . he’s one year old but it’s been a week with no progress of him wanting to be touched
Never try to show them dominance by TRYING to hold them down like I did with my pits .. I did this with a 100 lb put bull worked .. tryed it with my 30 lb heeler and the little son if a bitch bit me like 17 times in about 3 seconds, jumped up in the air and vanished fir 3 hours... Still don't know where he was
The breed is Australian Cattle Dog, not heeler (blue, red, or tick) and this guy has never heard of Skid Boot. One word commands are bullshit. My ACD is smarter than this guy!
Spray bottle of vinegar spiked water. Spray AS they are doing doing it. Spraying after confusing to them. I also used to help with nipping and potty training.

AND I totally agree they are not a good match for anyone who cannot assume the leader role right from the start. Definitely not a dog for beginners.

We’ve always had heelers, they never nipped family, around others they are overprotective of family and ranch. Best and happiest when they have places to roam freely to explore. Ponds, they like to lay around under trailers, tractors, barns, porches rather than inside the home. Cattle is their business; speed, energy, endurance, intelligence never fades even in the most extreme weather and circumstances. While other dogs are completely spent, heelers are asking for more work. Great for those in the military, those in leadership roles, manual labor type of people bc they like active people. Playful energetic happy dogs. Fearless lol

I have a female blue heeler and a male red heeler and I will say I notice that my blue catches on to commands a lot quicker than my red so I've had to adjust my level of patience when it comes to training each and not let one give me high expectations for the other.
I took care of 4 very young kittens and my little buddy cleaned each one of them and protected them.
I miss my mattie moe :( she was incredibly fierce. Loyal. Toooooooo smart. She'd move kitchen chairs to get anything off the counter if we left it... butter was her favorite... and she had a weird thing for coffee.. she'd pick it up unattended cups by opening her mouth while her nose was in the cup and Carry it to a surface it wouldn't soak into in a room no one was in..so she could enjoy it... Had her flaws and it was our fault (she didn't get along with very small dogs she saw them as prey. She got along with her sized and bigger and we socialized her at dog parks plenty ... just never small dogs and didn't know it was a problem until it was) but besides that... she was my mom's dog. She raised us kids... she was so smart she understood life. I swear she understood that my mom was boss and that we were my moms kids. And it was mattis job to watch over us and love us. She understood us leaving the nest and was happy when we came back from semesters at school. She was a great dog and knowing what I know now after raising other dogs.. her flaws were our faults and she wouldn't have had them.
I just buried Lacy-my nutcase Heeler. The mother of many numb-skulled love machines. One of my Heelers "Jobs" is to bite through metal fences and destroy his truck chain. This episode is to be considered a warning. If you need blankets and replacement for the down coat that get chewed up- they have a wonderful down layer- as mentioned- that can be used for down stuffing, lovely silver/tumbleweed toupees, and an excellent kindling fire starter. I do love my little "Spectrum Heroes".
I have a well trained blue healer that is a service dog and she goes out three times a day and we play ball or she goes into the pool and swims we bathe her we brush her we do everything this video says how do I not so much stop her from nipping but prevent that behavior with my friends and my husband. When we travel in the vehicle I got stopped by police for kind of swerving a little bit on the road but my dog jumped into the front seat and she has her backseat it is lovely it’s a great little environment for her it’s lifted so she is part of the family but she barks so much I thought she was going to come right out of the car and get this police officer so I don’t know how to stop that particular behavior with her barking at everybody because this is new and I think it’s a protective mechanism against me being harmed but is there something that I can do any advice would be nice

We got ours from local shelter when he was 2. He is fantastic except he is barrier aggressive or ifcanother dog growls. Then he becomes wild. He is happy to be inside with 5bother dogs with no problems. Any advice?

I brought home a rescue kitten I found on the side of the road tiny lil thing my female blue adopted her right off as her baby to the point of letting the kitten nurse on her 3yr later and God help anyone who messes with that kitten lol

this is my 3rd female heeler. the 1st 2 [RIP] loved to ride but this one~ Outlaw~ coming home from the vet 1st time got car sick, i thought that was really odd, but then she didn't EVEN want anything to do with the truck. so i left her home then after about 4 weeks i would have pick her up and put her in the truck she would huddle down and shake like a leaf on a tree but she don't get sick anymore! 4 years later i have to put her on a lease and when we go toward the truck she pins her ears back and goes into a crouching/ walking mode but when i say load up she will. and all she wants to do is me rub her. very rarely will she go look out the window! your puppy should out grow it. i know this didn't help you a bit but i had fun typing it! so you and your heeler have a great one!

I have a Border Collie mix puppy and then a friend had a Blue puppy. They live in a TRAILER park!!!🤦 So of course she was "too much". So we took her too. I LOVE Blue Heelers. Just put mine down and he was the BEST farm dog yet!!!! Broke my heart. So she's been healing for me. She IS extremely dominant with the Collie and he's not having it!!!! So we have some aggression, mostly with food. So lots of training and it's better. But NONSTOP play, those two!!! She's a wrestler! So he outruns her!!!😆 Love them both. Great dogs!!!❤️

I got my mix at 3 months. At six months no more nipping. It sucked but we did it! Also 2 hours at the dog park a day. Then two 20 min walks. He's a puppy so he can't do more then that right now. He looooves my toddler but definitely watch them play for the first few months and teach them how to play with kids.

@Phuque Meeded people don't realize that the puppies mom would have but the shit out of the pup, blueys are not to be fucked with you can't just use positive reinforcement on them or they will bite. Like absolutely will bite someone someday. People are such pussies dude. Have they never seen a mom dog correct their puppies?! It's a lot worse then a backhand. I actually had a littler of puppies once and the mom broke one of the puppies jaw for misbehaving. $5k later the dog was fine but that's how dogs treat eachother. They aren't people.

Look at how their mothers correct them, they use violence. They are dogs, remember they don't talk the way you do or have feelings the way you do. @Phuque Meeded oh I completely understand. Same thing goes children in my opinion. Not all kids, just like not all dogs need to be hands on, but a cattle dog? Absolutely hands on if they bite as pups, which they will. these people have obviously never raised a bitey pup. Like a husky or something that will be violent unless you lay down the law. Yup. One of my two still nips at 4 months old, but we're working on it. One punched me in the eye with their nose and gave me a raging eye infection and 13 hours in the ER...

My acd is mostly house trained, sometimes she still pees or poops inside.
My puppers baby Minerva was 3rd generation from a pit box mix that bread with a ferril wild dog with obviously was a Queensland or blue healer because all these traits were present in her both positive and negative ones her grandmother was very smart as well naturally protecting children and herding them away from the busy streets baby Minerva got cancer right after my daughter was born and I couldn't afford to get the tumor removed after getting my truck repaired even after that tumor had gotten so big and I'm sure it was painful my daughter would crawl over her and she would just be cool with it like show no pain I would tell my daughter that she couldn't do that and my puppers would look at me like "don't worry dad I got this" I'm crying as I write this I miss her so much 😢 sorry for the lack punctuation

@Dogs Now beyond the words to describe how much she meant to me and I don't know how to let her go I feel like I have let her down by not being able to save her yes she was older 13. But her grandmother was about 18 when she passed away and although I gave her the best too science did not have as good of food available and the only thing that I can say is not getting her fixed was the reason and That was definitely my fault btw one of the unique things about her and her brother was they were both born without tails which seems to be the reason for their dog aggression that was one thing I could not break even though it was only when she was with me or my gf a quality I could not break from her her other brother that lived was with a tail and he was very docile
I suggest 2-3 hours minimum of play and training the more the better lol a tired heeler is a happy heeler.
make this decision to get one very very carefully. They are a lot of dog. Most people cannot keep up with what they need. Mine consumes a huge amount of my time everyday.

My boy is a half border collie quarter Blue tick and quarter Aussie his name I Bentley and he's is 1 almost 2 in April he's is potty trained has never went in house minds decent loves to play ball and has plenty of energy my family doesn't remember what it was like b4 him
I try to find the discount for we eat raw or whatever the dog food was that you support and I couldn’t find it. The other thing I wanted to say is our dog is extremely well trained, but I am very concerned because I think we’ve become a little lax And she’s normally on a harness when she’s around people and out and I’ve taken it off of her around the home and I noticed that her behavior is getting a little different and she does nip a lot and I’m trying to figure out how to stop it without being mean she nearly broke my nose one day coming at me and it wasn’t really mean it was more place anyway if anybody has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise she’s the most amazing dog I’ve ever owned.

I have a rescue blue heeler. She is stubborn. Any suggestions how I can get her to listen. She hides under my bed or end table when inside the home and does not come when I call her. I have to retrieve her from her hiding place. She is better outside of the house. I do take her for excercise everyday.
Words have meanings to a blue . Start with one and continue saying it while going to do what ever. They catch on quickly.

You can do things like check around the house or hide things for her ro find. You can teach them all sorts of things, like bring. I can have my heeler bring socks to my wife or whatever.
Grasshopper is three now she will work cows or goats and rides a tractor all day long. I don't have to tell her to get on the tractor she is always on and waiting on me. she is only dog at the park that will run the entire obstacle course on her own ,just send her. She is totally a one man dog and thinks she's a trained personal protection dog, she will not take any kind of food or treats from anyone but me. These dogs don't have to wait on commands they are always reading your mind ,I think something and she is already doing it lol

his a good dog hes just mean to people if they are in the house and it takes a few meet ups for him to get used to them and he hates other dogs in the house but hes calm outside with people and other dogs and im busy alot so i dont take him out often

Mine ACD is given the best, but I can't trust him anymore. The best dog ever.. worthy of the effort, but taken a turn. He has Never bit me, but now open teeth Growling with biting moves. He does recognize his mistake and makes apologies with licking my hand etc. and we're OK (but reserved trust) for a couple days. He's like obsessive.. he looses it. I've always suppressed nipping.. tolerated some gentle teeth play. Even tried pinching contests where I pinch and he teeth plays. He constantly challenges me for Alpha.. which I suppress by threatening a Spritz of flea spray he hates. He HATES getting wet, or me brushing his hair. He KNOWS the deal with nipping. Anyway.. Now it's Police Dog Boot Camp.. He will either totally turn on me, run away, or submit.
Question: He is 14 months old, Never been neutered.. I resisted due to current medical circumstances. Would Neutering suppress his aggressiveness? Too Late? Just Train harder? I love the guy, but will no put up with open teeth growling. Get a Muzzle? Too Late? Trip to the pound?

They play rough and can overwhelm the smaller dog.
I have to keep a close watch and step in with the spray bottle when my bored yearling heeler starts pestering the 14 year old trying to rest chihuahua. But most of the time they get along OK. However we got the heeler at 6 weeks of age, so she learned to accept the smaller dog as family from the beginning.

I also used to help with nipping and potty training.
I gave mine the command “off” & sprayed her with a water bottle. With only water in it. It gets their attention.
