Thank you to all of the Antarctic Extremes fans! Arlo and I are so humbled by your enthusiasm! Working on this project was a dream come true for both of us. Please stay tuned to Terra... more good stuff in on the way :)
Thank you so much Caitlin and Arlo! I was hoping for a video about aurora in Antarctica. But I can't wait to watch your next project. Maybe about an island, desert, or rainforest Again, I can't wait
I like this waaaay more than the more production-focused documentaries. It feels more real and feels more useful in terms of real experiences and knowledge applicable to life.
I waited to finish my homework to finally watch this. First of all, what a journey. I found this channel thx to PBS Eons and now is my favourite channel. I got so emotional with this last episode. Thanks for the series. I can't wait to see what's next for PBS Terra. Take care for the moment guys. Hope you're safe.
That is one amazing photo! That penguin sure knows how to strike a pose. And those short scenes of it, in all its glory, they were great too! :D Thank you for the amazing series. Both the unique enviornment and you as hosts, made it great to watch. And also the camera crew! That aint an easy job.
"I'm excited about getting there, I'm excited about seeing them, but I'm also really excited about sleeping." Arlo, back at it again with the words of wisdom
That must've felt like the biggest success, getting those penguin shots and decent footage, seeing it up there on the billboard and magazines. It must've felt like conquering something huge. I understand a lot of the trip to the antarctic probably did, but especially that.
Thank you guys for this amazing serie.. And don't be sad you didn't get the fancy hollywood shot of the pinguins! You've shown, with those videos, some of the things we don't see usually and the reality of the place. The natural you've been filming this serie with is fantastic! I wish we had more of those kind of documentary nowadays... Thanks again!
There's the real lives of penguins and the 'model penguin' specially for the photo op... Thank you for this series, I expect the next one to be in the middle of a extra hot desert or visit Kiribati.. :)
Zac, Arlo and Caitlin- Thanks for putting together some of my favorite videos about Antarctica. You were all wonderful to work with, flexible, understanding and adaptable. From the former voice of Helo Ops, thanks!
Successful people in every field write down their failures. Failure is the only way you learn. As someone who owns a business, I can assure you that we track our failures and study them relentlessly.
Am gutted that this series is finished, it was really interesting to see the human element behind Antarctic studies. Am looking forward to the next series.
I love that you guys talk to the scientist in the field, i think its facinating the type of work and research those guys do because you never really hear about it
Caitlin and Arlo. As a journalist I really enjoy the video keep them up. Could you host a future episode on Antarctic bacteria and protozoa that are found naturally in the water.?
Noooooo, the Antarctic series is over now? The only channel I have my bell set for, just because of these two amazing hosts! Can't wait to see what they come up with next... after they finish defrosting, that is!
Mean while outside Nova Main Office thousands gathered to Stand up for Penguins! "Come on Men You Wanna Live Forever!? For Penguins!!!" (Mass Crowd) "Ahhhhhhh..." 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
Lol Caitlin gets offended when Jean says people dont like rocks, while shes been bashing penguins the whole episode. This was one of my favs, they're my mom's favorite animal
Them: "Its so cold! 40 mph wind!" Me in Wyoming: "Try 60 mph! And it's always windy here!" Really gotta wonder how cold it would feel to a Wyoming-ite, I've worked outside in January here!
I wonder what the carbon footprint of the station looks like. Flying and shipping supplies in requires a lot of fuel. Not to mention im sure they use diesel electric generators for power. Do they use solar and wind energy?
People how don’t believe in climate change and in general don’t trust science should watch this series and understand that they are literally spitting on all the hard work done by these amazing scientists.
The most fun during a Pandemic AND the 2020 Presidential Election here in the US was viewing this series. I needed to smile and laugh again and for awhile thankfully you delivered! Thank you.
Negative 10 Celsius is not so cold. I experience winters colder than that. When they were complaining about the cold in other episodes I thought it as like negative 50 Celsius.
Well, I also experienced less than -10°C already, but that's still different to having those kinds of temperatures (and significantly lower) all the time, paired with brutal weather and environment. If you live in a cold area, you should know that there's worlds between -10° and -10° with strong wind.
Oh my gosh thank you. I am no longer alone. I have nothing against penguins but they kind of creep me out. I think it’s because when I was a kid we would go to Northpark mall in Dallas and they had a penguin display and my gosh they smelled so bad. It made me sick

Looking forward to whatever is next! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for keeping us entertained during lockdown, it's really helpful to watch these sorts of documentaries and be engaged!
Thank you for all your hardwork there, both you and Arlo!!! And thanks to all the scientists as well!!
"Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave."
. . . yeah, as in every stupid American TV Show . . .

@Alex ohh ok thanks

1:30 Arlo Pérez, actually hates puppies and babies
Amazing

Caitlin's reaction to seeing that billboard
PRICELESS
Arlo, beard looks great on you bro
Side note, I loved the ending.
I felt so vindicated by getting that thing on the big billboard!
All these scientists have a certain look in their eyes when they speak of their work... It is so ephemeral and difficult to describe. Its wonderful.
It’s the “I’m obsessive and talking to people about themselves is difficult”.
So is this the end of the series? Either way, I can't wait to see what else PBS Terra will do next. :)
Hi @Mikeztarp, yes, this is the final episode. But more good things are to come! So stay tuned :)
@@ArloPerez Really great to hear, loved this series, you and Caitlin are awesome!
@The Cybernaut It was the middle of summer, they got plenty of sun! On their faces and hands anyways. 😂
@Arlo Perez thanks for doing such a great job with the terra team!
The last part with the penguin shots and the music was the best part of the video.
Aww man I'm sad its over. You guys have been one of my favorite new UA-cam channels to watch.
We're so happy to hear that. Thanks for the support!

Arlo and Caitlin, thanks for giving us a glimpse into this strange and beautiful world!

Adélie penguin... too cute!
The four penguins of Antarctica
Adélie, Chinstrap, Gentoo, and Emperor
Thanks Sam 😬

I'm crying while I'm laughing at the lonely penguin.

Thank you for this series! It's been wonderful, and super, super interesting - I keep showing segments to my friends and family.
“So what we are looking at when we go down there, is 10,000 years of penguin guano.”
My jaw dropped. “That’s not dirt?”
Really liked this series! Made me wish all the episodes were longer. Would love to see more from this team.
You might be in for a surprise next week;)

So a few months ago I discovered the video about the food and just now thought to check out the rest of the series. Great job you thres!
I've absolutely loved this series and can't wait to see what else you produce!
travel the whole ecuator from 0°, 0° to 0°, 0°?
Mike Horn has done that. He made an amazing documentary about it called Latitude Zero.
I really enjoyed these videos! I hope there's more to come!
Damn this was beautiful! Keep up the good work!😄💎
Simply breathtaking.. I watched all the Antarctic extremes episodes in just one setting..
This oddly reminds me of home, in Barrow, Ak. I'd like to work there for a season. I love the videos, you are Arlo are great.

"My boss would fire me if we did not get footage"
I laugh so hard when Cattylin said that
Caitlin and Arlo. As a journalist I really enjoy the video keep them up. Could you host a future episode on Antarctic bacteria and protozoa that are found naturally in the water.?
I can never forget the absolute classic of a video of some of these penguins literally projectile shitting on each other
You guys should watch A Place farther than the Universe. It's 12 episodes but it bleeds of the wonders of Antarctica.
Something with that waddle can't be overrated, but I can say the same thing about seals, so, as you can imagine, its quite the predicament...
Loved this series and I hope y'all make more! Maybe next season stationed at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station?
Wow.. Another amazing video...
Who don't like penguins?
Fun to watch.
Waiting for another exciting episode..
Thanks all...🙏👍😊
We're not sure if Caitlin's sold on penguins (still). Thanks for the support!
One of my favourite channels out there! Can't wait for your next project!
The best series I’ve seen In a long time! Would love to go there
TY for posting and sharing this. It was lovely and a great view into Antarctica

Such a great project and series!

Where I live, we get 40+ mph winds on a daily basis, the joke in our neighborhood is that everything is at a 45 degree angle.

This whole series was amazing
Wheres the episode explaining how the town gets electricity and fresh water (melted ice?) from?
Hey, cheers to the team :)
Was the penguin lost? Or just off for a walk by themself to get food? I’m assuming there was a colony nearby....
That lady saying that - 10 degrees celsius is not cold... must be the boss LOL
(She is)
((But she is also really lovely))
Thanks very much for sharing.👍 Good luck penguins!
I wonder if that lone penguin they saw on their last day is the same nihilist penguin Werner Herzog met in "Encounters at the End if the World."
Penguin episode is the 🎉😊 Great Series 💫👍✨🇨🇦 Very Enjoyable Informative, nice human touch !

I mean, where I live in Eastern Washington it gets well below 0 degrees F in the winter.
I wonder what the carbon footprint of the station looks like. Flying and shipping supplies in requires a lot of fuel. Not to mention im sure they use diesel electric generators for power. Do they use solar and wind energy?
As much as they can!
In fact, you can see a solar panel at1:24
