2022 World Juniors - Розваги
That is an instant classic. I don’t know how everybody in the world doesn’t watch hockey it’s by far the greatest sport in the world
Agreed! 🇨🇦
Yessir nothing like it 💯
Facts!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🏒🏒🥇🥇
sorry to burst your bubble..with hockey canada in such a mess this will go forgotten..remember there were 5,000
empty seats
As someone who played hockey all there life, the ufc or any form of combat sport is the most interesting in terms anything can happen. Everyone knows Canada is the best in the world at hockey. Grew up near Whitby. Watched every big moment (golden goal, Eberle, Sochi, Mcdavid 2015 team etc) But why other leagues like nba mlb nfl ufc soccer are way more popular is because the best players in the world and the sports in general are people of all cultures and skin tones. You have all types of people who went through different hardships to get to where they are. For example lebron He grew up without a dad in the ghettos of Akron. Mom had him when he was 18 and worked 2 jobs. Even if he wanted to choose hockey it’s waaaay to expensive to play it. I know first hand how much money it costs (on and off ice training, power skating, gym, tournaments, regular season, new skates, twig, new gloves etc. ) majority of the best people in hockey present and past have always had the means to get the best growing up, in terms of being able to even afford AAA puck. Which in ur draft year is almost like 10k! Other sports you do not need the same equipment and environment to get better at ur craft. All you need is a hoop for basketball, open grass for football, just a gym for ufc, a good field to hit dingers…You can weight train and shoot pucks on ur driveway all u want, but unless your getting on the ice 5 times a week which is at least 350$ just for the ice, ur not gonna be on the level as someone who’s playing On a bad AAA just because they have the money to pay for it. It’s really not attainable for a lot of people around the world. There’s nothing wrong with hockey. I only made this comment because I hope it becomes more global and less expensive. I love the feeling of a close 1-1 game heading into overtime. Physical, skill, big crowds the bunny’s watching 😂I’m proud of the boys and they obviously worked very hard to get to where they are. however the reason nhl will never ever be the greatest sport in the world is it’s just not attainable for people they’re doing a lot better job to make the game global but they gotta lower the overall cost of puck that means sorry I rambled but all my hockey boys say hockey is the best and while a fun intense sport not the greatest not even close.
The save, the 2 on 1 the 3 on 1 that somehow didn't go in, the golden goal, what an ot. Best overtime I've ever seen
Same here and I’ve been watching puck since the 70 s . Crazy.
This was the greatest overtime I ever watched.
@@patriksodin9349 And it was barely 3 minutes long. 3 on 3 is absolutely insane.
It was great, but i'd say NA vs Sweden in the World Cup 2016 was the best OT ever.
@@joelsanderson2225 LOL!!!! That was the exact game I was thinking when I thought of the greatest OT games ever. It was the first time I'd ever watched 3 on 3 and I nearly pissed my pants. Absolute insane action. Great pick. I agree with you.
That save from McTavish.
Haista paska -save
Insane
In 40 years of hockey, I've never witnessed a more clutch play. Ever.
Hey do you mind if I ask, Is there any relation to Craig mctavish
@@hockeyaddict7007 yea we know. It’s a time for celebration not for nitpicking but yes we know you are technically correct. Just wow crazy . Oh that poor kid who thought he was going to get the golden goal. The rest of his life every day he’s gonna see that in his head. Wow
McTavish had three turnovers in one minute and somehow stil gets an A+ grade for that shift. Legend
Forget the golden goal, that was a golden save by mctavish.
That puck crossed the line. Definitely some home cooking going on
@@bubbaharrod2530 what angle are you looking at? Wasn't even close
@@mitchellhardy5895 if you freeze it there was just a millionth of a centimeter of that puck was just over the line
@@bubbaharrod2530 the entire thing has to be over the line though. If you knew anything about hockey you'd know that.
Yeah entire puck has to be across the entire line
Craziest hand-eye coordination moment I've ever seen.
As a Finnish hockey fan who loves the world juniors, whenever I remember this particular game I feel physical and psychological pain.
We all have gone through it! This was an instant classic. As a Canadian I’ve always respected Finland. You guys as such a small nation are always in the semi’s or gold medal game. It was a great game! Be proud of your boys. Both teams put on a show.
Man, that was painful. Not a Finland fan but i could almost feel their heartbreak. You heard the term 'hockey is a game of inches' but this was worse - that puck was MILLIMETRES away from crossing the goal line. Can't imagine being so close you could almost taste it (watch the closest Finnish player to the puck, he was halfway raising his arms in celebration) to getting it snatched away in that fashion. Man, i feel for those kids from Finland.
But to help ease your pain, let's all watch Finland's last golden goal at this tournament. I could still replay it in my head: Kasperi Kapanen's solo effort deke beauty to beat Russia for the gold medal 😍
McTavish Canadian Heritage Moment!
90s House Hippo commercial, buts its McTavish.
Amazing Game. No heads should be hung low here. It all came down to a bounce, a single play, Kudos to the Fins and the Boys to the North.
Aren't the Fins more North? At least the majority of each countries populations...
@@elguero9279 Touche, yes relative to their opponent. My bad. Here in the States usually, especially in Hockey circles, that reference is usually tied to the Canadians.
@@elguero9279 If you look on a map Canada definitely is. Remember we got the North West Territories, Yukon and Nunavut and the rest goes all the way to Greenland.
Everyone talking about the save but how about that pass and game-winner... oh my.
fr what a play
Stankoven really bossed it in the whole tournament.
Because without that incredible save, there wouldn't be a game-winner on the other end.
The whole fucking overtime was insane WJC at it's finest.
All elimination games OT should be play until someone scores
What a pass at the end by Stankoven too
What a play by Seeley to muscle that away from Raty and make the pass to Stankoven
Wow. That save will be more memorable than the goal!
How fun was that. That will never be forgotten 10 years from now people will be talking about it
The goal was still insane
Most golden silver medal ever, congrats to 🇨🇦 and 🇫🇮
3:14 Best Save In World Junior History
4:21 Best OT Goal
OH YEA
I know it sucks to lose the Gold and settle for Silver, but these Finns played their fricking hearts out. I wish I could have shook their hands to say thank you for a fantastic game. Congratulations to both teams! 🇨🇦 🇫🇮 instant classic.
I'm proud of them too and I'm Canadian lol. Those guys have nothing to hang their heads for. Really hard fought game and they should be celebrated for their efforts
Fin USA and Canada still neck and neck for the very best
@@Matanumi Not really. In the last 20 years, Canada made the gold medal game 15 times.
USA only made it 6 times .
5 golds for USA , 9 for Canada in that span.
Great game but can someone explain why in the world they would do 3 on 3 OT for something as big as this international tournament? Doesn’t make much sense imo
Respect to the Finnish team, they play so hard every game.
Man that goalie judging lying down makes me so sad
Congratulations CANADA!!! Greatest hockey country in the world.......
Russia might have something to say about that
@@bubbaharrod2530 What about Ukraine
@@bubbaharrod2530 When's the last time Russia won gold at the World Juniors? It's been more than a decade... Canada has 4 Golds in the last ten years, and 19 overall... When's the last time Russia won a best on best tourney? Probably , before your time
Russia has ABSOLUTELY, NOTHING, NADA, ZILTCH to say about it...it being Global Hockey Supremacy
That said, the fact that Russian kids were excluded from this tourney was BS...
xxx
And in the lighter side of the news...
The Russian and Ukraine war was staged, to excuse the coming food crisis, also manufactured...bearing in mind that Russia and Ukraine are responsible for one third of the world's wheat exports, very little of which are said to be reaching foreign ports ....
Still, I for one, welcome global enslavement and radical population reduction, by our Dark (Don't say Judeo-Masonic) Overlords, architects of the 911 false flag attacks, that bogus 'climate crisis' psyop, weaponized Gain of Function viral chimeras, aka 'Plandemic', the Great Reset=Great Culling, yadda yadda...
I will own nothing and be happy... until they come to incarcerate me and chop off my head...
Go Globalists sociopaths, Yeah team Lucifer...Go Satanic ritualized baby killers...Go team Rothschild, crypto-J Rockefeller & Goldman Sachs...
He said, sarcastically...
Ranked 2 tho haha. Finland is ranked as number one. Can is no longer the good old Can like back in the day
Canada with their best players vs Finland with their best Canada wins by a longshot every single time. It's not even debatable. Canada has the best hockey players on the planet
After Canada didn't score on 6 consecutive powerplays you just knew that would come back to bite them and before you know it Finland has tied the game. Finland gave us all we could handle and then some. That OT save by McTavish was absolutely unbelieveable, I thought it was all over right then and there. Congrats to Canada and Finland on a great game.
I said the same thing too because that can happen and has
Refs were crappy in this game.
But congrats Canada earned IT in The end.
@@joniniiranen2741 We earned it with our top 10 players not there due to being held back by their pro team or being injured.
Chills from the crowd. From the McTavish save and the golden goal. Holeeeeee
I think I'm going to yell that to my wife tonight.
Congrats to Canada for well-deserved victory. Greetings from Finland
I wish you well and good things
Finland deserved to win as much as Canada, too bad someone had to get silver! 🇨🇦 🇫🇮!!
If there is any country we lose to, I always hope it's Finland or Sweden. Russia and USA are 🗑🗑🗑
Bro I was dying 😂😂😂😂😂😂 the medic guy when he threw his gloves and towel in the air I thought he said “IM FREEEEEEEEE” 😂😂😂

MCtavish save of the year and maybe one the best save in hockey history...
That's going on a WJC Canada Top 10 for sure
@@russshipman2727 That’s def top 2 all time because he hit it out the air too

One of the best hockey games in many years! Hockey fans needed this one! Epic O.T gold medal winner is the royal flush of hockey accomplishments for now Canadian legend add B.C boy Kent Dangle Johnson!
Was at the game and it was a pure red and white eruption in the stands when the OT goal went in. Best WJC final ever!
That's why I love the 3v3 format. Exciting as hell!
definitely, preferable to a Shoot Out...
No let the players play hockey
3v3 shifts the game so much that it isn’t like 5v5 and the winner isn’t really deserving
The 3v3 sucks 4v4 ok
3 on 3 is bullshit...
This is why hockey is the best sport
i think i watch this video 20 times by now and i still have goosebumps
Back after the golden goal in Halifax
I mean it was pretty standard.... sans Latvia doing very well and chech UPSETING USA after being beat by latvia in the round Robin.... that was insane.
This should have been a high octane hi offensive of Canada versus USA and it wasn't... fins snuck in and almost came from behind and won it all....
Alright maybe their was some drama this year wow
This needs to be the all time save of all time! And not made by a goalie. Wow.
that play by McTavish was the craziest thing I've seen in a hockey game given the circumstances
Words cannot explain how amazing this game was. Hockey honestly is a sport that always puts you on edge from start to finish. Basketball is always the last minute of play. Soccer is when it's penalty kicks. Baseball is always that last out but hockey is something else entirely.
Hockey is *always* on edge!
Har har!
@@BuriedFlame 😂 good one
I can't stop watching this. The broken play at centre ice by our Canadian defenseman that caused the turnover for Stankoven to retreat, the #22 Finnish player who just didn't get back and cover hard enough...and the perseverance of Johnson!
Why didn't anyone mention just before the almost goal from Finland, the player tripped MacTavish and that's why he fell behind the net. Karma played a part in that MacTavish save.
Stankoven pass was insane
Dude is so good and media doesn’t give him enough credit cause he’s a Dallas prospect
And, also being small too .
Hands down the most exciting OT I've seen yet, congrats to the boys up north.
Mason McTavish deserves the Vezina and the title of Defense Minister of Canada for that save, what an insane game from both sides
That McTavish save is one of the greatest plays in sports history. The kid is a legend!!! But go back and watch his entire shift. Other than the save, he was just awful.
2:35 makes a terrible give away.
3:02 makes a bad decision/play giving up a 3 on 1.
3:10 gets the puck from the goalie, falls down and gives up the puck to the Finns for a perfect scoring chance.
3:17 makes the greatest play in hockey history!
Ummmm no, he didn’t “fall down” he was CLEARLY tripped behind the net which led to that scoring chance
@@koalitycooking2782 I don't think he touches him, its close but hard to tell from that angle
@@tendy3232 Slow it down, it's definitely close, but he didn't just lose that edge on his own. The stick tipped his inside foot, outside edge, just enough to send him down.
You're not wrong, but I do think Dylan Garand shoulders some of the blame. He saved the 3 on 1, and could've frozen the puck for a face-off. Sure, there's no way that he could've known McTavish would have lost and edge (or been tripped; it's hard to tell, McTavish clearly believes it was a trip - I'm on the fence) behind the net, and I recognize that 3 on 3 OT is frequently won on counterattacks, but if you're not 100% sure of the defensive position your team is in, you hold on to that puck like your life depends on it.
On a related note, had McTavish failed to keep the puck out of the net there, what would everyone (fans and the media) be focusing on right now? Indisputably, we'd all be talking about McTavish falling down, and whether or not he was actually tripped...and THAT would've been a real crap storm. People would be asking if the 7 to 1 disparity in powerplays contributed to the referee not calling the trip, or whether the fact that a 4 on 3 powerplay being awarded in OT virtually guarantees that the penalized team gets scored upon caused the referee to ignore the infraction lest HE decide the gold medal winner (this is a sentiment I've always taken issue with - if you commit an infraction, get a minor penalty, and your opponent scores, YOU decided the result of the game, not the referee). Things would've been *so bloody messy* if that shot had gone in the Canadian net. There would be whining and calls for rule changes, and the whole thing would've cast a massive shadow on this WJC. So not only were we given this gift of the most dramatic ending to a World Juniors gold medal game in a decade or more (perhaps in the history of gold medal games at this tournament), we were spared all of the debate and complaining that the alternate ending would've entailed.
@@WillKlein Actually, it was the second time in this game that McTavish was tripped...in much the same situation...and it wasn't called by the refs.
Greatest stick save ever
I don't even watch hockey and yet I watched this.. Well done boys!!!
I can understand the Fin players being disappointed was a well played game by both Teams.Came down to a bounce and from what i seen a fumbled pass and deke the Fin netminder wasn't expecting.Good show lads see you next year.
"...and another gold medal for Canada."
Yup
Fins are just an amazing team, they always provide such excitement, there is no shame in winning silver, that goes to both these teams it could have gone either way.
Thanks for the game!
You just know this will be shown for years as the top plays from the World Juniors.
As a Columbus fan and full season ticket holder, I feel we have an exciting future with the likes of Johnson, Jiricek, Mateychuk, Sillinger, Laine and Gaudreau among others. Proper credit to Jarmo for taking a team in complete disarray and rebuilding it overnight. 15 months ago everyone thought he should do what Chicago and Arizona are doing a tear the team down to the dirt and start over. As for this game itself, in a game of this magnitude, there are no losers, but only one winner. Incredible effort on the part of both sides.
Lesss go canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Columbus has the most interesting team right now, I'm gonna watch all games. I don't know how Jarmo got them all but it looks like he has the golden touch.
@@RockerFinland I think Jarmo is a genius. He not only has a great business mind, but also comes from a scouting background. I remember being at the final game of the 2021 season and thinking to myself that the team was a mess and probably headed for a 5 to 7 year rebuild. The four sportswriters who cover the Blue Jackets were calling for a complete teardown and rebuild and it certainly looked like that would be the case when they dumped Nick Foligno, David Savard and Riley Nash. Jarmo wound up with two #1 draft picks by moving Foligno and Savard, then got a #6 pick for Nash who was injured and only played in two games for Toronto. Brilliant!
The next big move came after Seth Jones decided he did not want to stay with the team. Jarmo traded Jones at the highest point of his value and the return allowed him to acquire Cole Sillinger,, Adam Boqvist, Jake Bean, Corson Cuelmans, David Jiricek, Denton Mateychuk and extend Zach Werenski. He also made brilliant trades when he traded Pierre Luc DuBois for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic, then Cam Atkinson for Jakub Voracek. In 15 months he has completely reshaped this team and made it a force to be reckoned with in the future. If Columbus ownership is smart, they will pay Jarmo whatever he wants to stay and eventually take over the presidency of this team. You don't want someone as smart as Jarmo working for the competition.
Anyone notice Mctavish got tripped when the goalie gave him the puck , that’s what lead to the great chance by Finland
This is an instant classic for me. As someone who enjoys watching hockey, it’s really nice to see
a quality game with both teams giving tons of intensity! Finland played extremely well and nobody should be
mad that they lost.
McTavish’s save will be remembered forever but am i the only one that thinks he was tripped behind the net ?
How Mctavish saved that goal and it never entered the net in that whole sequence was insane. 🥇
I hope Johnson has a good sense of humour. I can't imagine what it would be like to score the gold medal winning overtime goal, on a second attempt, as you trip over another player... Only to have the entire hockey world in awe about McTavish's insane, game-saving play at the other end of the ice... -- meow.
Finnish guy celebrated way too early instead of battling, he might've been able to poke it in had his stick been on the ice at the 6:00 mark 😂
good game! greets from finland🇫🇮🤝
The Finns were incredible. Nothing to hang your heads about. To play equal to this Canadian team is a helluva task, and they did it. An unlucky break or two cost them. McTavish is not human. God-like
if I recall correctly this was the game where finland was in the penalty box for a quarter of the game. Finland was better the refs just couldn’t handle the home crowd.
Omg I can’t help but just die of laughter at the fins just laying there like dead fish they were feeling so defeated 😂😂😂😂
I think this game entered the mind of all that watched and will never be forgotten cause that was one of the best games I’ve watched, and I personally think that we can compare the greatness of this game with The Miracle on Ice
What a crazy night for sports. First this and the Leon sending Kamaru to the shadow realm. Fuck I love sports
McTavish with the golden save.
I feel bad for the Finnish goalie he played so hard in that game
thank you for this
Congratulations to Canada on winning World Juniors on home ice, as well as Finland for making it to the Championship game. This was definitely an extraordinary experience for the tournament to resume in the summer. Don't be surprised if this is the start of a new tradition in international ice hockey.
Meh.....
No way. This tournament was meant to start the year and it was special for that
NEVER GIVE UP GUYS...NEVER! WHAT A SAVE! MY GOODNESS WHAT A SAVE!!!
gotta hand it to the Fins goalie. Played unreal they whole tournament, hope he gets the recognition he deserves
IT IS NEVER OVER...TILL IS OVER..Never give up guys!
I went to the hospital after game for stressing to much and for my heart beating too fast!!!! Let’s go win this year boys 2023-24 gold medal is ours Canada for life baby
This is one of the most insane overtimes I’ve ever seen and this is JUNIOR hockey
Junior hockey is arguably more entertaining due to the quickness of the time played, emotion for country representation and crazy turnovers on a moments notice
Pretty amazing. Both the save by McTavish...and the goal that ensued.
Wow what a game what a save
Thats easily the CRAZIEST overtime ive ever seen
Incredible.
Much respect to the Fins, they played their hearts out. But this is *our* game. The best way I can describe it as a Canadian is it has always felt like we don't play to win... rather that we're playing for something we already own and don't want to lose it. Every major tournament, every one across this country feels the same, and every player wearing that jersey knows the expectation. 2nd place would be failure absolute. Gold is the expectation, every time. It's our game, and every tournament is our chance to stamp it. If you know, you know. Congrats boys. Mission accomplished.
Most insane save I have ever seen.
Finland has won so much now, they can give this one to Can. Fin are still ranked as the best hockey nation so one loss is okej.
Can someone tell me the name of the song playing in the arena prior to the start of OT??
Does anyone know what that song is called at the beginning for puck drop?
Kent Johnson deserved the goal. World Championship, Olympics, and more. No medals. But finally gets it here.
What a game!
Amazing.

there's so much emotion in the building on overtime and such spectacular play that you can't help but feel such excitement from Gord and Mike. such a great call
