For further context, the pitcher and batter are friends and the pitcher was legitimately concerned he severely hurt his friend. It's entirely understandable why he was so rattled after that. Kudos to the batter for that show of support afterward.

Kid was offering encouragement to the pitcher and the coach had to stick his nose in and pushed the blue player away. Leave the kid alone porky.

I remember I was in hospital when I first saw this. I was feeling miserable and very sorry for myself. I saw this and started bawling. It restored my faith in humanity. I guess when one is in an emotionally vulnerable position, It can have that impact. It still resonates as one of the great and memorable moments of all sporting events.

We used to charge the mound for stuff like that. Now they cry, and give hugs. Lmao!!
