I sometimes think that the symphonic orchestra is the greatest musical invention of the human race.
Well Chuck,if not the best, certainly up there as one of the most vitally important to"Man's"well being and"Peace of mind"certainly!!👍
That's because...it is!!
What one may experience is that Great Art conquers Time, while we can't. Even as we cry out to Time, 'stay', it does not stay. But in Art, Time does stay. It is not a 'becoming', it is a Being. We are a lack, we can't hold on to ourselves in the passage of Time, but Classical Art remains in its suchness. That's why people cry when seeing the Duomo or hear Satie and such. Something like that.
Sliced Bread is the greatest invention!!
What about the acoustic guitar?
- Lightweight
- Easy to tune and maintain
- Serves as a solo or accompanying instrument
- Affordable
- Can help you find a mate
I find Erik Satie's compositions so nostalgic. And I'm not even sure what I'm nostalgic for. So beautiful.
Erik Satie lmao
My first cell phone had a version of this song on it and i used to listen to it all the time. I’ve spent 10 years looking for it thinking it was a Nokia stock song and only just found it again yesterday. It is the single most nostalgic thing I’ve ever experienced. Such a beautiful song and it means so much to me despite just having found it again.
It has that "air" about it.
It does the same to me.
That's why it's a masterpiece, it's a very simple bit of music and yet it evokes so much emotion in lots of people that hear it.
Anemoia is the word for that!
Nothing brings some peace to my tormented soul, than Satie music.
I agreed
Yes that it does
----- until some thoughtless one, coughs.
Yes indeed, my torment is not in vain as it has delivered me into Saties arms again 🕊️🎼🤍🎼🕊️
I agree with you
2:19 masterpiece 🤩
Is that 1 or 3?
@@andydandynotebook7780 it’s 1 :)
@@ashercreager0 thanks, yeah definitely one of my fav songs
@@andydandynotebook7780 actually that's the 3, 'cause Debussy made the orchestrated version of it and he reversed the numbers of Satie's Gymnopédies. So,
The orchestrated version(Debussy): 3
Original version on piano(Erik Satie): 1
I cry every time I hear #1. It reminds me of my children's father and the happiness we once had. It's also what we played on our children's baby swing to get them to sleep when they were newborns. It is just so lovely and full of longing and takes me back to some of the best memories in my life. 💔😔
What happened the love ended between you two
So sorry. Remember the good times.
Lesther Seijas prolly died sorry to hear
exactly- love experienced, love lost in his case unrequited.
Why did you leave him?
Whos cutting onions as I'm watching this? This is superb!
Those damn ninjas always cutting onions with their katanas
Billy
omg i just cried the entire song and started feel a silly for that. but i see there aint just me hahahahaha
Best description of my reactiion !!
If satie created only these he would still be remembered forever
Satie was a genius. I love his work.
He is one of those artist, whom's music leaves me dumbfounded. I cannot comprehend how they arrived at their point of inspiration, it does not seem derived from anything, but truely original. This is, of course, a result of my own subjective ignorance. Still, in my opinion, evoking this impression is the best justification for earning the label 'genius'.
Time flows mercilessly.
Life doesn't always go as planned, but this masterpiece makes we feel like we would do our best and make the most of our short, fleeting lives that last less than 100 years
I never heard this version before. I'm so used to Gymnopedies being for solo piano
There is magic in this music.
MUCHAS Gracias.
Desde Chile Iberoamerica.
Satie’s music will quench and moisturize your parched soul, and evoke comfortable feels and pleasure
Harp is just the perfect instrument for #1 and that french horn is nailing it.
+Yufei Li -- I would also mention the oboe as a major contributor to this music's ethereal quality. It is the principal instrument at the very beginning of the music.
Noe Berengena I agree! Love the solo!
Yufei Li miles davis
I was in such a total relaxation that I almost forgot to breath.
I literally stopped breathing so as to enhance my total enrapturement into the music.
Satie is a great Alchemist of the soul , and his music is a paramount tranqulizer
brings me to some nostalgic scenes I've never had
Satie’s music has a healing effect, and a panacea for the soul
Gorgeous rendition of gymnopedie. Breathtaking...
What a Beautiful rendition 🎶
When I hear Saties's music I feel like im one of those warm Friday evenings. And while I aprecciate the godly nature which surrounds me I watch the sun finally succumb to give space to the vast and deep purple sky. Also sometimes Satie's composition makes me feel like im actually part of something far greater, yet im not sure what do I mean.
universal love part of which is romantic love.
Happy Birthday to Eric Satie, love his melancholy music
I need this now more than ever. Social distancing. This is medicine for the soul.
Bo Lang that is why he was An imperessionist
Superb rendition !!!
I cannot praise you enough !!!
Best regards from a COVID-19 terrified Brazil.
Thank you so so much! Stay safe!!
i kept on crying while listening to the gymnopedie no.1
Just letting the music wash over my soul 🎶🎵
Greetings from South Africa 👋🇿🇦
So beautiful Linda, enjoy our music!
im in love with the oboe playing
WE have Claude Debussey to thank for the Orchestration of Satie's GYmnopedies. HE orchestrated them and reintroduced them
that is perhaps the most beautiful thing i've heard in my entire life.
My favourite of classical music is the symphony.
Thank you for the heart ❤️. 🙂
.....Suspended on the tendrils of magic, I find myself cruising through wafts of electric mists.
Simplistic notes lingering in my ear's amplifier, blasting my brain.
How humble these notes make me feel......
Having listened to this again at a very meditative moment, I feel this interpretation of the great, mystic Gymnopédies tells the (his) story of a whole life. Our life.
Wow 3 years since last comment. I always picture the world in black and white picture. Beautiful
I really enjoy it and love all the 3 gymnopedies but I feel not the same sad and nostalgic feeling that I feel when I hear the piano only, this one is more like beautiful.
I became familiar with this music after finding a short film from 1953 on UA-cam. The film is titled "New York - 1953 / The Man: Dan Alevy". My Wife wanted to hear the music again today and all I could find were piano only versions. The film used an orchestral version like the one you have provided us. In my opinion this is the only way to truly enjoy it's beauty. Thank you, I "liked" and am now a subscriber.
I fall in love for this song listening at "Radio Cultura FM" from São Paulo - Brasil (with S because I'm brazilian).
Brings me memories from a time that I never knew.
felipefugazi eu sinto a mesma coisa!
It's sound great. Got to experience a live orchestra one time in life.
No matter what happens music will always warm my heart to the bitter end...
This makes me feel nostalgic and relaxed. Music made by angels. Thank you for making this happen. I really enjoy this.
this music is beautiful. i listen to it every day as an accompaniment to my piano
This is the soundtrack of my happy place.
the no. 1 will always have a place in my heart, it's just it touches something deep in my soul
How relaxing can you get.
This is just beautiful . ❤️
Omg I want to be there😍😢
But you are here :) Enjoy our recording as much as you want, as many times as you want!
Superbe version merci à l'orchestre et bravo 👏
Eu ainda vou aprender a tocar oboe! Que instrumento maravilhoso!
Vai sim !
To put it simply... Brilliant.
Never heard Sadie’s music by orchestra! Amazing!
Neither do I. But, to be honest I prefer just the piano. The orchestra version was goo tho.
I really appreciate this kind of music.
Sublime
Comfort of Satie’s music is immeasurable and beyond words and will transcend time and space and races of people
My mother is so resigned that she always waits for me, for me to return to her side tired after so much rolling, her pale hands implore for her beloved son, her eyes cannot cry from so much hardship,The gray hairs that cover her forehead are of sacred silver, they are hymns of moonbeams that come down from the sky,My mother is so good and so holy that she always waits for me...👇🏻
May I return to her side one day seeking comfort. My mother's love is for me the most sublime love I have ever felt in my life, I would like to live eternally by her side to make her happy...just like her affection I never found her, just like her sweetness will never exist in the world, that's why I want to return to my mother after so much walking...Malena🌻
So beautiful with the symphonic orchestra...only feel the music...
2:18 A versão orquestrada de gymnopedie no.1 sempre terá minha predileção
Brilliant interpretation
This is a inspirational gem
SATIE❤fall in love with its mysterious notes, He will know in the depths of his soul, the beautiful magic driven to break him!..I love Erik SATIE, he is a candy for my delicate palate!
