@@bald38 I have no plans to sell either at the moment mate. i would like to buy another one to be honest. The prices are ridiculous and Im not rich but I feel like eventually it will be literally impossible to buy one. :)
Hey mate, sweet finding that plastic piece for the indicator stalk 👍 , i was going to say the stalk was also used in mk1 Capri, MG , some minis and possibly Hillman's of the same era but finding such parts now there is 5x worse than here in Aust !! 😎
Thanks for the heads up! :) You can now buy mk2 escort stalks brand new quite cheaply and some people convert their mk1s to run them but I didn't really want to so I'm glad George found that bit of plastic.
Love these videos mate, just bought a mk2 Ghia after having them back in the early 90s and banger racing them! Great inspiration and fun watching these, your getting better in each vid. All the best, Neil
The MK1 is coming along nicely Marcus and looking great, what a result finding the part for the stalk, looking forward to the new gearbox going back into MAUDE and seeing the new gear ratio in action?.
Thanks Gary! :) Im looking forward to seeing how the new gearbox feels and also how it performs at Santa Pod, but for now Im trying to focus on the mk1. :)
Recently fitted led bulbs into the dial illumination on my Mk1 Fiesta, caused issues and looked crap. Went back to the normal bulbs, much better. Great Videos. Keep em coming👍
Very simple mate! I rebuilt my last mk1 loom with more fuses as they’re very under fused as standard . Luckily for me father In law is a auto Sparkie !
Thanks Harley! :) I'm not sure if I'm going to Retro Show. I will actually be in Northampton that day tho so I might pass thru for a bit. If u see me feel free to come and say hello. :)
The labour was £350 + vat Matt. :) The large laygear bearing modification by BHG geartech was £125 + vat. The total I payed including the replacement of 2 syncro rings and the input shaft was £633 including vat. . . . . I supplied my own bearings and seals which cost roughly £250 i think and the longer 1st gear kit was roughly £300 i think. The lads at HPE are very helpful and friendly so defo give them a call to discuss ur options. :)
Marcus , that is going to look so mint when finished , i do take it you know how much these go for , recon you should do a Q and A soon
I try not to think about how much they'r worth mate. I wish they were still worth nothing so i could afford to own more of them! :)
@@marcushayesford so when finished are you going to keep them both ?

Only thing I don't like about the mk1 is the dodgy looking wiring, shes looking good apart from that.
Has anyone ever actually pressed suit lol
