I agree, I've made these complaints for years but no one listens. The only logical course is to continue to let the quality drop so that Gamefreak and the Pokemon Company lose money that way they are forced to adapt or sink and fail. It may hurt them but they keep giving us worse crap every time they get the chance. It's hard not to despise it.
I should have felt like this when BDSP released but I was too caught up in the nostalgia, honestly Scarlet and Violet are still kinda depressing to think about

Okay let's go Pikachu and Eevee are definitely not good games, they would probably be long forgotten if they weren't riding on the back of the biggest franchise in media, but they're far from bad games, and I think they've aged far better than pretty much any other games since the start of the 3d games. They're the only ones I've actually started appreciating over time, literally every other pokemon game my opinion on it has either stayed the same or gotten worse.
Ironically, I feel like the worst part of scarlet and violet is the open world aspect. There's nothing to make it interesting, so it just feels like a confusing mess trying to figure out what you can and can't access. And god, the lack of level scaling just kills it.
I still remember my path through pokemon violet. First I got distracted by the dex since I'm not good at keeping on task in open world games. Filled in like a third of the dex before even getting a single badge, and for that my starter was almost fully evolved. Plus, due to the nature of all the trainers being optional, I'd only done like two non-major battles up to that point. At level 30 ish finally decided to take on the first gym. Went east, found klawf on the way, one shot both phases since I had an overleveled grass starter. Jump forward a bit, I've beaten almost all of the titans, with the exceptions being the bird and the fish, 3 gyms, and none of team star. Figured the normal type pretty much just above the first gym made sense to go to next, got my first actually hard fight. Fast forward again, got like 6 gym badges, beat all the titans already, and still haven't even touched the team star bases cause they made them sound intimidating, and I felt bad for them too. Beat arven and realized oh, the team star mission is actually required, my bad. Did the first two, finished off the gym challenge, then finished off the rest of the team star bases. Only one that was even kinda hard at that point was the fairy one, and that was just because half of my good pokemon were dark types, and the other half were dragons.
I wish so much that they had just let scarlet and violet have another year or two in development and let them become like the breath of the wild of Pokemon instead of just another mediocre way to get you to give them 60 dollars.
I can't lie, the one thing I found joy in w/ BDSP was when everyone figured out & agreed on certain room codes/the rules of each code. I could go into a particular room & know exactly what to expect. Also, no gimmick. I like Megas, but the rest are "eh" and Terra is just a headache, IMO.
9:36 i played ps2 games back in the day like shadow of the colossus and I'd argue it looks BETTER than scarlet and violent. Heck some of the more stylized ps1 games like OG Rayman looks better than this!
I'm just gonna say off the bat, sword and shield have a very clunky story, but are honestly the best games from a pure gameplay perspective in a while imo, and legends arceus was a genuinely fun spinoff that stayed just close enough to the normal games, while also having enough of its own charm to make it much more enjoyable on replay than any Pokemon game since like at least the late DS era. And we don't talk about cool rock 3d, strictly inferior edition, or the finally actually ambitious but incredibly undercooked wannabe legends arceus ones.

If y'all are going to waste your breath saying Pokemon games are awful knowing they will never be made to your standards, at least be original about it instead of defaulting to "Dexit" or "N64 trees".

I actually liked Scarlet and Violet nemona is one of the best rivals arvens storyline was a masterpiece the most fun I've had and the patches have made it way better
I'm hoping to look into it soon to see if it's improved since launch, I enjoyed some elements, I just found them to be outweighed massively by the game's shortcomings. However, Clodsire is the best thing to come out of the franchise in the last 10 years
After playing Tears Of The Kingdom… there’s no excuse for how bad Scarlet and Violet perform. Game Freak has always been bad at optimizing games. They had to pull in Iwata just to get the decompression algorithm working well in Gold and Silver.
I was hella pissed about those remakes . That was one of the greatest gens ever so far and they ruined it !!
