Day 2 recovery: Corneal Cross Linking review - Keratoconus surgery

- Day 2 of cross linking surgery. The second day is way worse than just after the surgery. My eye area was swollen around my eye and the eye ball itself was irritated like I had been sleeping in my hard lens for a week with only little sleep. That's what it felt like.
Oh I'm day 3 after my treatment & I had to remove my bandage lense today as it had moved off my eye. Still irritated as if I have something like a small stone in it. Annoying af. Blurry vision still. Looking forward to my healing 😍
Side effects so far; Irritation, burning/stinging after eyedrops, dizziness from blurry vision, blurred vision (still), sleepiness from painkillers (Codine) & because sleep is when my eye is at ease.
Dang reading back at this is like what? Lol.
Anyway, 3 weeks later my eyesight has improved so much. I still have 4 out of 5 types of eyedrops left.
One I take twice a day, one I take 4 times a day until empty.
One I take when itchy & one I take when dry.

having the surgery today , kind of scared but I hope for the best
Hi how did ur surgery go??
I just took 800 mg ibuprofen 30 minutes after my surgery once I got down the road because it hurt. That's all I took for the pain that day. Nothing else during recovery. They prescribed me strong meds but I refused to take them.
when you have had the corneal cross linking can you see after the surgery on the like 1 or 2 days after you have done the surgery?
I just had mine done a few hours ago. I live in Louisville, Ky and here at Bennett and Bloom's, its only $2000 per eye.
I'm having PRK and crosslinking together tomorrow for $4000 just my right eye
@@XwishingforfreedomX ouch, that is a lot of dough
@@darkop861 yep... I'm not excited
having the surgery today , kind of scared but I hope for the best
@@XwishingforfreedomX where are you having it?
I had the crosslinking done last wednesday and also slept a lot after the surgery. I couldn't explain it any better! Only had pain the first day. How long did you wait to use your contacts again?
I waited a good couple weeks or so. I think the probably of swelling and hurting was from the tool used to hold the eye open for so long.
I’m so scared I have to get both of my eyes done
what was your corneal thickness?
IM SCARED!!!!!!!!! 😩
What was your prescription before the cross linking???
About -2.75 contacts. This procedure didn't change my vision at all, and it's not designed to. Cross linking stops it from getting worse. I haven't changed my hard lens for probably 5 years or since this. I'd have to check, but I've used the same lens for years.
I’m getting this tomorrow
Did you see any vision improvement?
The surgery isn't meant to improve your eye sight, it's meant to make it so you don't go blind! It strengthens your eye and holds it in place and in most cases will improve the shape of the eye. I went in for a check up a couple weeks ago and the shape of my eye has improved! =)
Yeah, some people see minor improvement in vision after few months of surgery.
@@supadupa64 and that you see better what it needs?
@@supadupa64 you still didn’t answer the question, I read 50% see improvement in vision.
How much did it cost and can you make payments?
Try care credit . You can go to their website it's like a credit card for health care. Also some places will offer payment plans. Usually around 2000 per eye
I paid about $1,600 out of my pocket. If you use the insurance it costs something $4,000 I think. Depends on your insurance probably.
I'm having my right eye done on the 10th of July. I'm petrified.
You'll be fine. Had mine's done last year in Scotland and it has halted the keracatonus. Just thought how amazing the science was during it to keep my mind of it. It is pure Sci fi. All the best...you'll be grand👍👍
