Nice Review! KDM has been my favourite game since I got it from the 2nd KS, years ago. It's just so darn exciting and so replayabul. Top quality, components and gameplay. One thing I like to suggest to everyone is laminating the settlement and character sheets and using a dry erase marker, makes the sheets way more functional. My table was getting covered in eraser shavings! Anyways, nice review. Enjoyed watching it even already having the game and knowing what it's about. P.S. I also magnetized the armour sets, bit of an endeavour, but really fun and makes for a more immersive experience.

After watching this ages ago, I backed the 1.6 reprint. Since then it arrived, I built the mini's, painted them and am up to LY21. OMG this game is incredible!

Great video dude! I'm always looking for new KDM content on youtube because I love this game so much. It's inaccessible to so many people that I just enjoy seeing others opinions on it. I got my friends to play through the White Gigalion Vingette, and they were pleasantly surprised with what's to come (I'm trying to get them to play a campaign and I used this to rope them in). Up until this point I've mainly played it solo while trying to digest all the content and rules. While I'd like to experience the entire game for the first time with friends, I do not think they'd be as accepting of the brutal mechanics as I am. I'm definitely going to bend the rules a bit to the will of the play group. I'll enjoy the full brunt of it on my own if so! Part of me doesn't even want to expose them to it until the next wave of expansions arrive haha!!! There's so much coming in the Gambler's Chest and Campaigns of Death to flesh out the base game! I was not an initial Kickstarter Backer and am even more thrilled now to see it becoming more widely available. I was forlorn when I thought I missed the boat on possibly getting any expansions, and vowed only to buy the base game if they came back in stock. Now I have waves 3 and 4 + the GC fully paid for. But that's the kicker....the price and scope of it all. My buddies are blown away at my financial investment into this thing. They're beginning to understand now that they've had a taste of gameplay, and they know this is a unique experience they won't ever get on their own. It's such a money pit. I've even paid to have everything painted. It's worth it to me to have that truly mythic experience I can share with others. I've even been propositioned to bring the entire game to my LGS so others can take part in something most board game enthusiasts dream about. For me, that makes it worth it. I spent an embarrassingly long time assembling the base game myself, and definitely bit-off more than I could chew. It is not an easy process for a first time model builder. I loved every second of it though. Painting, however, was something I knew I could never tackle on my own. And my god do they look awesome. It will still take several years for the remaining content to be released, but on the other hand, I think potential enthusiasts should keep an eye out for a 2.0 version of the base game. By then there's no question that itll be worth the money.
WOW. Spoken like a true KDM die-hard! Congratulations on getting everything paid off and for getting in on the PM. I'm soooo excited about the Gambler's Chest it's unreal. My unsolicited advice to you is to play a campaign with people at your FLGS first so you can get a good grip on the rules before you start a campaign with your closer friends. Maybe that'll help make the transition easier (*maybe*). On the other hand, the first-time experience of getting absolutely crushed by KDMs lethal novelty may be something you want close friends around for. Your choice, either way I'm glad you're enjoying it and spreading the good word. P.S. I've heard that GC and Campaigns of Death will drastically increase core game complexity and bookkeeping so I'd also recommend playing with the core a bit more before diving into wave 3 content with them. Fun stuff!
I think you'll have to. Berserk is the primary influence that inspired its setting, monster design, and gear. There are also a lot of easter egg references too. You'd like it :)

I think you should really look into Blackstone fortress. It’s a phenomenal board game imo and it was the introduction into the Warhammer 40k universe. Legacy style board game that has a hidden vault that you are trying to find. The introduction board game I showed my family and they actually loved the gameplay.

Hmm, allow me to clarify: KDM doesn't actually have an official non-mini version. However, some people do sell the core game without miniatures on secondary markets for cheaper.
I agree with you about the time you need to spend with this game before you review it. I keep wanting to review this game for my Kingdom Death channel but, much like you, I want to wait until I can give my most informative opinion on it. For now I will just have to keep doing the expansion reviews.

It absolutely is. Difficult to recommend lightly but tremendously deep despite generally simple rules. The miniatures are awesome too! Don't get me started!

@@ugolapierre5605 No worries, you are perfectly understandable. The 1.6 changes cover a lot of areas for the sake of overall balance. Some items will become more usable, one quarry in particular will be nerfed to address its widespread overexploitation, and a number of typos will be rectified. So I guess you could say it's becoming more fair by opening up more options and retiring commonly regarded "best" options. ... As for your second question, the miniatures do NOT have a push-fit system that allows for switching limbs. If you assemble with plastic glue, all assembly is permanent. Some people have opted to follow the Path of the Insane by magnetizing arms/weapons/heads to allow for that kind of customization. Which, although envious, is a lot of work. Happy to answer any other questions!
So glad to know I am not the only one who has to cheat to be able to get anywhere in this game. I've experienced one too many infinite Butcher kicks while playing one my own......

Great game, I've enjoyed it but time investment vs enjoyment... Unless I "cheat" or use alternative game modes, plenty of games on my shelf provide better. In the perfect world I'd have a whole month where the world stood still and I could just play KDM... then it would probably rank up there but until that moment... It has slipped out of my top 10...
