    If I am remembering right, Dumbledore wasn't the one who expelled Hagrid. Dumbledore was just a teacher at that time. But then again, thinking about it again... If I recall right, the expulsion of a student also lies with the Head of House.🤔

      @@bilbobagginses4941 Dippet was indeed the Headmaster of Hogwarts during Tom Riddle's years at school. 👍 I definitely remember that.
      But the only reason I second guessed myself was because of Chamber of Secrets where Snape (who is head of Slytherin) said that the responsibility of expelling Harry and Ron lies with Professor McGonagall (who is head of Gryffindor) because the kids were not part of his house. If I recall correctly and I could very well be remembering it wrong, I think Professor Dumbledore was head of Gryffindor during Dippet's Headmaster years and during Tom Riddle's school years. 🤔

      Even if a head of house can expell a student of his/her house but not from other houses that doesn't mean the Headmaster can't do it and would be able to override the heads of houses.

    I don’t think you completely understand what the word avenge means. Unless im wrong here, percivel avenged his daughter not the muggles that hurt her. When you say he avenged the muggles that’s basically you saying that he got revenge on their behalf. Like he was on their side. To avenge someone is to finish the fight for them, to get revenge for them. Like if you killed my sister and then I killed you, that would be me avenging my sister. You avenge your friends not your enemies. Percival avenged his daughter, he got revenge on the muggles.

    Everybody always misunderstood that ressurection stone scene. It wasn't his loved ones, back from the grave to cheer him on. It was a ring that brought back a bunch of spectres that told him how great, easy, and painless death is. They tried to brush aside all of his earthly concerns and get him to go to his death. To what end!? Even in the original story, the guy brings his dead wife back and she eventually gets him to off himself to be with her. It's not some "heartwarming ring that brings back your loved ones for a reunion", it's a cursed ring full of malice, designed to get its wearer to kill themselves.

      I disagree on the part of “ring”. It’s not the ring but the stone that has this power. The stone was embedded into a ring or made into a ring if you will.
      I do agree that the stone did have an ominous power for all of the examples you provided. I think you are right in speculating that the ring did make it so that the user would be at peace in dying/killing themselves. I will provide one more example that I’m SURE no one has thought of.
      Dumbledore was wearing the ring in the sixth book (Half blood prince) and this is when he planned for Snape to kill him. If you read back on that very passage, he tells Snape that he must be the one to kill him and said it without any fear or hysteria. It can be inferred then that the reason he was so nonchalant about dying was because of the deathly hallow (stone) and by extension knew that giving it to Harry would help him when it came time to sacrifice himself.
      Dumbledore was very modest and even though he claimed that he sought power and that Harry was the true master of death because he used the hallows to enable his self sacrifice, you can agree that Dumbledore did, essentially, the very same thing. He had the cloak and the elder wand at one point. While he took the cloak out of vain curiosity (because he could make himself completely invisible-probably due to the power boost of the elder wand) he did keep the wand to prevent others from using it to cause harm to others, which is very noble. He also did sacrifice himself (again probably because of some of the deathly stone’s effects) by letting Snape kill him instead of Malfoy.
      However, this just drives my point and yours even further! If Dumbledore’s sacrifice was mainly because the stone had this effect, then this is why he tells Harry that he was the true master of death. Because maybe Dumbledore wouldn’t have chose to die if it hadn’t been for the stones influence. Unlike Harry who, stone or no stone, would’ve sacrificed himself regardless. Thus, Dumbledore gave him the stone knowing it would help ease his anxiety and fear about dying because he knew Harry enough to know that no matter what, Harry would sacrifice himself regardless.

      Or it wasn't the true ring at all. The whole bit with the withering curse was sus af. Dumbles is way too competent to fall for something like that. Whatever that ring was, it was -- at minimum -- part of D's manipulation. He wouldn't have left something like that to chance. It was, at minimum, enchanted by D or it could have BEEN D outright, all along, just transfigured into a ring. Nobody would have ever seen that coming.

    You made an error, it was Harry who destroyed the diary, not Dumbledore. He, Dumbledore made the realization of the horcruxes when on the night of the final task in yr 4 GOBLET OF Fire when Harry describes what happened at voldies rebirthing party. He voldie says how he has pushed the boundaries of magic further than anyone, for he was never alive nor dead. It was from that quote that made Dumbledore realize that voldie created a horcruxe, then must have created more.

    Dumbles was definitely at least neutral, if not outright "lawful evil" by DnD standards. I'm pretty convinced he staged his own death somehow at the end. Maybe his body was a homunculus and Dumbles was transfigured into the ring for the whole 6th year. The withering curse is the perfect cover so nobody would notice -- and it would explain D's presence inside Harry's mind/soulscape at the train station construct. Voldemort, I could understand -- there was a soul shard inside HP. But where did Dumbles come from? Unless he was either transfigured into the ring all along or (gasp!) did something similar to a horcrux to the ring to be able to project his mind through it. It would also explain why Harry's ghost relatives told him to sacrifice himself -- it wasn't really them, but Dumbles projecting those visions into Harry's mind.

    Actually, Dumbledore did know the ring carried a powerful curse, as he was searching for horcruxes when he found it. He knew of Voldemort's ignorance of the magical world folklore, like old-wives stores which include the story of the Deadly Hallows, and understood that was in his ignorance that Voldemort had transformed a powerful magical artifact into a horcrux. It was his long-forgotten quest for the Hallows and his personal, selfish need to finally find out the truth of who threw the fatal blow that killed Ariana, which made him careless enough to put the ring on his finger. forgetting, if for a moment, that it was due to carry a powerful protective curse whose aim would be to kill the wearer or whomever potentially find it.

      @rj4yjohnson932 2 місяці тому +2

      And then he put the ring on, realized it was a horcrux at the same time Snape made an unbreakable vow... Realizing he was already limited on time he played on it with snape, (not being the TRUE owner of the elder wand {that belonged to MALFOY,}) Snape killed him to prevent malfoy from becoming a murderer and to prevent Snape from dying for breaking an unbreakable vow.

    • @Alekseybg
      @Alekseybg 15 днів тому

      Lucius Malfoy had the diary (not knowing it was a horcrux and how important it is) and decided to get rid of it in case someone searches his mansion for dark art artefacts. And he put it between Ginny's second hand books pile. Then she gets rid of it later on during the school year after realising it was affecting her in bad way (no memory for certain things for example) and Harry founds it in the lady's bathroom.
      By the time Dumbledore found the ring at a specific location which he figured out (the Gaunt's house) he was actively searching for horcruxes. So when he found the ring he KNEW it was a horcrux. But for some reason did not suspect that it was protected somehow by Voldemort and not just left there and thinking about his lost relatives he puts it on and the curse is activated. Not only he knew it was a horcrux he also knew this was the resurrection stone.
      A lot of this information is not included in the movies. Please read the books.

      @Alekseybg 15 днів тому +1

      Actually I think Albus and Gellert were fighting together against Aberforth. Gellert and Albus were friends and lovers and had very similar understanding for the world and instead of taking care of his sister Albus was giving his attention to Gellert and Aberforth was not happy about it. So before her death Albus and Gellert were allies and very close friends (and lovers). After her death Albus had a change of heart on his views on the world and Gellert left his relative's house (I think it was his aunt) and started his reign of terror. And Albus did not try to stop him until he had no other choice (everyone knew he was the only one capable). They fought and Albus was so powerful that it did not matter that Gellert had the elder wand - Albus won the duel.

      No, I've read these comments and you've corrected this gentleman multiple times. Some were warranted some not so much, but this one is idiotic! You obviously didn't understand that scene. He went to limbo after having his and voldemort's souls ripped out of his body by voldemort's killing curse. It had nothing to do with the resurrection stone. It was Harry's blood still being alive in voldemort's veins that allowed Harry to return to life. Essentially, Voldemort had made himself into a whole crux for Harry using the same protective spell in his blood that his mother had provided by sacrificing herself. All the resurrection stone did was bring back his loved ones to give him the courage to die. If you listen to the story death gave that to the second brother in order to manipulate him into killing himself. And by the way, Dumbledore did want to bring his mother and sister back. He said so and that's why he put the ring on so quickly in his excitement. You need to reread the books it seems.
