I love how this also establishes that if Kirk and the Gorn ship had not been stopped by the Metrons.... The Enterprise would have been obliterated by the Gorn Armada...
I totally enjoyed this! Seeing Gorns this way shows them to be intelligent and reasonable beings. As well as being strong and fierce. I wish we had more stories of this race.
Thanks. :) The Gorn were a lot of fun to create. I had a lot of mix and match work to do. I basically have one body suit and two masks. A couple other costumes were done by actors Michael Stutelberg and Michael Dominick.
A very unique point of perspective. This film adds quite a bit of foresight and dimension to a race of creatures that none of the series after the original series have touched on. Great work.
The mistake would be even more clever if Balance of Terror had the original Romulan ship called for in the 1ST draft script. A reverse engineered Earth Saucer section with a torpedo launcher and bird painted hull. No stardrive section of nacelles. They were originally going to repaint one of the Enterprise filming models saucer.
This was just lots of fun! Good integration of footage from the original episode - and seeing the battle from a new perspective! Great to see the FASA Gorn ship designs BTW. Were any ship models used? I wonder was a Metron would look like from a Gorn perspective - humanoid or gornoid? Looking forward to the finale!
Those actually were Starfleet Universe designs aside from the Manticore itself, which is a canon design. But we will see FASA designs and others in future stories.
@@scotthayes4135 this is true. Sort of like playing fair with the players. There might be more to this than just what we get to see on camera. I did it this way to imply that the Metrons have an actual need for fair play, in addition to their conceit. Almost ss if they're bored with these primitives interrupting their day.
In "Arena," they thought humans were invaders. The point of this story was to show why they jumped to that conclusion as well as the lesson they learned from their encounter. I don't really get why you would say that makes them stupid. Imagine the human misunderstandings through history. Humans have made doozies. It would be stupid if they failed to learn.
Another well made episode.
2:40 "Very ingenious. They fed back my own impulses and built up an overload".
The best part, the GORN thought Tesla SUVs were a sign of an advanced civilization.

Then the Gorn would have attacked earth.
this should be on saturday mornings when that ment something

More stories are coming. :)
The Gorm have nice looking ships.
This has been great. keeping the trek flame alive. well done
Loving these ships . It`s great to see this story from this angle. The uniforms are lovely. LLAP

After 50+ years of waiting, I could wait no longer, LOL!

The gorn don't know everything they think it's Romulans they face, boy are in for a shock.
Awesome! Loved seeing the classic Gorn episode from their POV! Great production values! Well done, Kenneth!

Well done..just have a little a little trouble hearing and understanding the gorn clearly but I love it!
Sorry about that. I tried to make them both sound like actual Gorn and be intelligible. Sometimes one is exclusive to the other. Oh well!
Seeing things from their perspective is interesting. Funny they keep mistaking us for romulans
You pink and brown skinned mammals all look alike to us.

so much better then prodigy and lower deck and twice as good as discovery and picard
I just want to keep the original Star Trek alive. :)
@@Raymar3d Quite effectively I might add lol
The Metron's voice is a woman in this video.
Different Metron. The other one was talking to Kirk at the same time. :)
@@kenneththomson5120 The female Metron used almost the same words as the one who communicated with Kirk's ship.

good show but somehow the gorn seem stupider then in the orignal star trek episode t not exacitly a worthy opponent.
