We may get to see it. I have a few plans. I am at least in part dealing with the fact that "Strange New Worlds" is incorporating a lot of new material with the Gorns. You may want to listen to "More of the Serpent than the Dove," which is an audio only adaptation of a comic book with a few slight enhancements to add elements from SNW. Also on this channel. :)
If the Gorn Captain realizes he is "no better than those who attacked us", surely he must realize that "those who attacked" them *are no worse* than he is... a very Rodenberrian basis for mutual understanding, cooperation and peace
Absolutely required viewing for us who adore the gorn and believe they are woefully underutilized. A perfect alternative perspective and complimentary canon to the original episode.
Always thought the Gorn were an interesting race. They are basically dinosaur-like reptilians but they are also a warp capable society, so they are not stupid and I seem to remember a Star Trek scene, from something, (maybe the animated series) in which there was a Gorn among a large group of Starfleet officers so I would assume they become part of the Federation, (and why not?). It was really interesting to explore 'Arena' from the Gorn perspective. Though after seeing a video of large lizards tearing apart a chunk of meat and wolfing it down, I’d imagine that lunch in the Crew’s Mess aboard a Gorn ship might be psychologically disturbing to humans.
You got that right, Gorn teeth are definitely not herbivore teeth. But try watching Klingons eating live gagh. Those worms are trying crawl back out! Yum!
I have to give credit to James Blish's adaptation for the additional dialogue. Its part of the original novelization. I felt it was a good addition to expand on "Arena."
A fine ending to a good story concept. I'm glad we didn't spend too long on the duel shown in the original episode. In fact, we got new dialogue! Again a bold choice and it's quite a a believable conversation that could have been "deleted scenes" from the original episode.
Funny you should suggest that, Maurice.... :) Hey, do you happen to know who has the original Tressaurian costume/mask? I actually would love to include one that is authentic in one of the future stories. :)
@@kenneththomson5120 Jimm Johnson was trying to sell off all the Exeter props and costumes last year. I believe the Tressaurian outfits were in there, and maybe the gloves, but not the head masks.
Good job, Kenneth! Glad to see The Gorn Imperative released! Good story, and I am glad you decided to do it. Star Trek seems to have forgotten about the Gorn. Thanks for bringing them back.
Excellent wrap-up. It would be interesting to follow the gorn captain and crew into another adventure. Thanks for the film and congrats on getting it completed. Your work is appreciated.
That's the plan, actually. :) I needed to do this to set up the characters. For a partially existing follow-up, check out Starship Farragut TAS "The Needs of the Many." It follows after this and before my next story.
Thanks! With the COVID situation this past year, being able to do this at home and via long distance with some of my actors was pretty cool. One advantage of the greenscreens!
Very creative premise, well done too. A little hard to understand the Gorn speaking, would be helpful to provide subtitles for those of us who are hearing impaired.

Fantastic production!
Thank you!

Good series.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Brilliant!!!!!!!! Thanks for this pure moment of Star Trek tenderness!!!
I enjoyed the arena from the gorn perspective. Hope to see more
More are on the way!
I love the gorn costume and this species. Wow and respect for your work.
Thank you very much! :)
@@Raymar3d I wish, i have the green gorn suit with the red leather handshoes and the head.
@@magxenideutz you can put the bodysuit together using "the Lizard" costume from Spiderman. You just have to remove the tail. :)
I would love to see an episode showing the Gorn home world! That would be a very interesting and epic project.

Thank you very much!
👍 Fun stuff, a very enjoyable production.
Thank you! :) I enjoyed your animated production, too. :)
I thoroughly enjoyed the 3 episodes of "The Gorn Imperative" and look forward to seeing more of the same from you guys.
Thank you Ian. Very glad you enjoyed it!
Fascinating to see this episode, Arena", from the Gorn's point if view. Thank You for keeping Star Trek alive !!!
this needs more views.............. SPREAD THE WORD... ON TREK BBS TREK NATION ETC
Well Done. The famous Gorn story as told from the Gorns' point of view! This was way better than other ST fan films...
Thank you very much!

That's a good point. It's something to explore in further stories for sure.
Awesome job using live actors and animation in this fan film.
Cool production, well done guys.👏
Really glad you enjoyed it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! That is exactly what I hoped to do with this episode. Thank you so much for the kind words. :) You absolutely made my day. :)
Thank you so much for making this. 100 times better than Alex Kurtzman's STD or STP.
It was great to revisit these thanks again boss. Hail you and the Michael's

More to come, eventually. Look for Rekkon to appear in several guest spots and S'alath will also appear in another fan film soon. :)
awesome and you filled in a whole where kirk tells the gorn where to find him just clever

Good story/plot. Setting up rivals against each other would be a perfectly Romulan thing to do.

'Arena' was good episode of the original series, though It does drag on at parts, but remember, they had to fill all the time between the commercials.
This was great..... I can see how such a misunderstanding, could've occured !!!!

How many outfits did the Gorn captain bring?
Technically one. In reality, my version isn't a perfect match, so gotta use some willing suspension of disbelief. :)
