I love the facial expressions at the beginning of the video, I knew this was going to be funny - what, you mean they are serious?! 🤣Thanks for cheering up a dull, grey Friday, just what I needed. 😊
@RedHeadNINTY9T9 Absolutely agree. The precooking ruins bacon. I make my own pigs in blankets too, but I had never thught of "sprouts in blankets" until today. I may have a go at making some, but no precooked bacon.
Every year, last thing at Christmas, sprouts are 10p a bag or stores even give them away. Add in a pack of cooking bacon offcuts and you and yours can fart your way well into the new year.
Sprout and bacon soup is delicious. Fry your sprouts cut in half in a little oil until well browned, then add your bacon lardons and a finely chopped onion and fry until well done. And then add some chicken or Turkey Lurkey stock cook for a further 20 minutes then blend and add a little bit of single cream and serve and garnish with some deep fried crispy sprout peelings delicious.

I tried these recently and I wholeheartedly agree with you Gareth when you say they're not luxury.. they looked cheap and tasted absolutely awful. Keep up the good work Gareth.
Hi Gareth, hope you have got over the taste, I saw these yesterday in Iceland, my 1st thought was... 40p a sprout. That'll teach me to look in the Christmas section.. Keep up your good work.
A useful review explaining why it doesn't work. Just this morning I was looking at the Iceland site wondering if I should order anything or not (I didn't) and I noticed these were on offer. Something like this anyone could make and cook themselves in less time and with far more success....plus it would be a lot, lot cheaper.
This video had me in stitches. 40p a sprout I wouldn’t waste the electric cooking them. A lot of veg comes from Romania that’s why we are robbed. Buy local is right Gareth Thanks for the laugh and the review ❤
That's another one for the team, my sprouts have been on the hob since July and will be ready just in time for Christmas. great review Gareth you do make me smile.

Hi Gareth it's Peter thanks for your kind words yesterday but you can get some sprouts and bacon and make them your self for less money. Keep up the good work your videos are so helpful 😂😂😂❤❤
A very important tip. When I was cooking bacon on the Frying pan a lot of white gunk appeared. I think its coming out of the fat, Well i scraped it off with a spoon and left it on the side of the pan in a pile where it got Brown and crisp, Well one day i was scraping the little bit of burnt gunk off the pan with a spoon and decided to taste it. OMG it was like putting 10 crispy salty rashers into my mouth, i know it has to be bad for you but the flavour gives me a high , it has to be brown and crispy and you will only get a tiny bit but the taste of bacon is magic .
Gareth, that the food photo was (as we know) taken under special lighting to give the impression of a darker, more crispy appearance. Like you say, get your ingredients locally - you know what you're getting that way.
dont worry about the water i understand how it looks but its just mainly water from the sprouts cause they retain a lot and a bit of grease from the bacon, youd be better off taking them out of the packet and putting them on a baking tray then the bacon MIGHT go crispy haha but it sounds like they aint much good anyway just keep this ion mind if you ever do anything similar
Thank you for your sacrifice! I love sprouts and I love bacon so it sounds like a marriage made in heaven for me, it turns out it's like putting ketchup on Coco Pops
I’d unwrap the bacon off each sprout and stick it in the pan to crisp up then make a nice sandwich out of it. As for the devils food balls, well the bin is to nice a death for them. Good honest review. 👍
