@@DadliciousEats Do you have a favorite pie crust recipe? I ask because a really good flaky pie crust isn’t an easy thing to achieve and makes all the difference in the world to the final quality of any pie.
@@jandramardges3368 I'm so sorry I missed this comment! For a flaky pie crust I find using shortening works really well. I use regular lard (animal fat) combined with butter but you can also use vegetable shortening instead. This is the recipe I have been using recently but I will do a video on it for sure! The key is to keep the ingredients really cold so I mix using with a knife and try not to use my hands too much as they will warm up the fat. 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons sugar 3/4 cup unsalted butter cut into small cubes 1/2 cup shortening cut into small cubes 8 tablespoons ice water
Great job on your video. New subscriber here. On my second go, I did add a 1/4 teaspoon each of parsley, oregano, and garlic salt to the egg wash. I thought it enhanced the flavors. Keep up the great work. Really looking forward to some future videos!
If you freeze the bacon for about 20 minutes, it will cut much easier and defrost fairly quickly. Also, if you put a metal grid cooling rack over a bowl and press the cheese through it, those too will be fairly consistently sized. This looks yummy!
They look amazing and fairly easy. I think that is a good idea for lunches. Sometimes it hard to think of differents things to put into lunches so its not so boring. Thank you
Your presentation is top notch!!!!! Clean, clear and concise! Easy to listen to, easy to follow and a joy to watch with great hints along the way. Thank you!
@jandramardges3368 thank you so much! I just want to be able to share recipes and have it as a recipe repository for the children when they grow up and leave home!
I love these easy finger food ideas for taking to dinner parties. So much scope with different cheese flavours. This one will be going to holiday get togethers.
@missmayflower that would definitely work well for a firmer cheese. Fresh mozzarella can be a pain to grate but you could probably freeze it for 15 mins beforehand to help with that. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for that idea! Just saw this early this morning…..two days after Christmas….and have some pepperoni left over, 1/2 a pound of bacon and an extra sharp cheddar cheese I have already grated and I am going to make these for brunch! Will make half with pepperoni and half with the bacon. Perfect! thank you for the recipe from Missouri, USA!
When you say a pack of bacon, do you mean 1 pound? Also, I do not have fresh mozzarella cheese. I have a block that I will need to shred so how much cheese will I need?
Thanks for watching! Yes so bacon would be about a pound (i should use both measurements in the video really). For the cheese, you could use and cheese you like really. I use two balls of mozzerella which are about a pound so for grated mozzerella I would use a similar amount. Good luck!
It's good to use your hands with ingredients, especially good quality ones. There's also research that shows its beneficial to pull it apart at the natural tear lines. Obviously, feel free to cut it if you prefer. Thanks for watching!

To cut bacon I always use scissors
Good tip. I tend to use scissors a lot in the kitchen too
Yes…I have four different scissors I use in the kitchen for cutting up LOTS of things including bacon, greens and toasted sandwiches!
Absolutely! Scissors are the go for many things. Potato peelers and graters, too.
Ooooh. Looks yummy.

Thank you very much - you have given me an idea for Christmas.

Can you air fry these? If so, time and temp?
I've not done it but I reckon you'd want about 10 minutes? If you try it, I'd love to know how it goes!
Shredded cheese less time consuming
It is but I've found shredded cheese and little chalky in taste due to the added starch. It would still be good though!

You should freeze the bacon for 20 to 15 minutes; it makes it much easier to cut.
@AlannaLarsen-c3o for larger amounts I always do for sure, it's a great tip!
You could grate the cheese for more even coverage.

This would be good with sausage too!
Yes it would, I might try that!
Looks great be nice with Gruyere.
Gruyere would go really well
do the bottoms cook through or are they soggy?
They do cook through nicely if you don't slice them too thick and the cheese isn't too moist. Mine came out fine. Thanks for watching!
I bet cheddar cheese is good too
@maybeme94 yes it is! If you want a cheesier flavour it would be good. Thanks for watching!
Ghow-dah is how you should pronounce that 😉

1 lbs of bacon in about 450gr, he used about half of that.
@@pointdexter5215 Yes you're right! I got my conversion mixed up! Although nobody has ever said they've got too much bacon 🤣
I use finely cut chives and parsley.
@KHKH-os6kt that's a good idea, will try it!
Chives would be great
Worth 1 year
Um, why wouldnt you use a knife to cut up the cheese? Who'd want to tear it up?

Is mozzarella the same as chewing gum 😂
It's far tastier!
That bacon's not done, it's not even brown! 😝 It should be crispy.
Oooo the great bacon debate! I left mine not totally cremated as it cooks a little more in the oven. Plus I don't like it too crispy :)
yeah that's awesome but holy shit that's like 500 kcal per piece. Eat 3 and lose a year of life.
I'll eat the whole pan worth...(American btw)

Try cheddar, mozzarella tastes of nothing. yuk
Each to their own :) good quality mozzerella tastes amazing in my opinion! Cheddar would work very well too though. Merry Christmas😀
