He even has his beads and wraps stitched constantly cause the Wind tunnel was actually tearing open more and more during the series. He wanted to have a child to avenge him in case he failed. Sango was simply just that girl to Love in case he succeeded.
Probably in part because it's such a strange thing to say and because he gets punished for it constantly. They don't make it gross and they don't make him overly creepy or dangerous to these women. The worst one was when he said that to a kid and she grew up, imo. The slapping wouldn't fly in real life and neither would what he says and does but it's not how men would do that irl so it's not triggering. He's pretty charming aswell and it seems like most of the women are ok with it a lot of the time.
