Not me going out to pick up a copy of Bloom today..! It was also interesting to hear you discuss the Nat Cassidy book. I’ve been interested in it for a while, but had the same reservations around authorship as you’ve mentioned here, so your thoughts are very helpful! 😊
Bloom and Mary were two of my favorites from last year, too! I also liked Dawson's Guillotine. I *totally* missed Thornhedge. I gotta get that because I adore her fairytale retellings.
I somehow ended up reading two Delilah Dawson books back-to-back last year and I had such a good time with them that you've got me super intrigued to find a copy of Bloom. The plot sounds crazily similar to Rachel Harrison's Cackle, which I absolutely adored, so that makes me doubly excited. The only other one from your list that I haven't yet read is the AJ West book, so I'll have to find a copy of that one, too! And I had the same reaction to September House, that "w h o a" moment. It was a hoot and it had heart and to me, it was a perfect book.
I read Bloom on your recommendation on TikTok and I really loved the plot but boy oh boy the things that happen near the end really frightened me! I am going to read her other books too. I am quite intrigued by Diabola and will read that one next. So happy to have discovered you. I always look forward to your reviews!
Great to see you on UA-cam.😊

September House was also one of my 2024 reads and I loved it! It was very fun to read and I imagine the author had fun writing it as well.
