New INTRO is our song Snowplow Man from the album “Play That Rock n Roll” so stoked it made it as the intro!!!
Your music is epic! I love the track "Lick a Toad"!😛👍
It just wouldn't be a Diesel Creek video without the Semi-Supervillains! Love your music!
Yeah you are Sick.
Concrete is only relaxing in the rear view mirror looks like they may have used accelerater this time so they didn't have to stay all night. It's to bad you live in a communist state and can't have rite way concrete trucks.
Nice track - it's super I love that.
There are nice floor sealants. That will not stain or flake off. seen many you tubers shop floors get coated with it. One is Cleetus Mcfarland you tube channel, look at his floors.
Your shop looks freaking awesome Matt. I am really happy for you that your channel is so successful and allowing you to do what you love and at the same time bringing the content to us that we love. Thumbs UP to you Matt! 👍💯
I appreciate that!
The first vid I came across was him working on the forklift in his garage at the house, then watched as he built the shipping container shop and now a full on workshop. He's come a long way :D
@@DieselCreek what additive do they use for the slab to aid in curing due to bad temps???
I love watching professionals pour concrete. It's always like harnessed chaos followed by a zen like ballet.
Look at that concrete guy, wiping the post clean as he goes along and tells his team to make it good as well, what a pro
isn't that standard?
@@rigdigwusMost "Standard" things like that are ignored as the companies see it as a waste of time. Do a few jobs of that size or larger and have people wiping everything down properly adds up to a lot of hours very very very fast.
There's just something about watching concrete work get done that's relaxing.
Yes, just don't do it for a living
I was thinking the same thing, almost, Zen like.
Remember kids, if you can't finish school, you can always finish concrete
Watching others work is always more relaxing than just relaxing.
Those are some happy little control joints!
For sealing the gaps you can use the paper tape. You stick it on the sides of the cut. Not right on the line of the cut, but leaving a small distance from the cut. Then you put a sealant, smear it (the excesses of sealant will go on the tape), and remove the tape right away. Thus you'll push the sealant deeper and have a really nice, smooth line. We were doing it to seal different gaps on the aircraft.
Those concrete guys have my highest level of respect. Laying concrete in freezing weather is just about the VERY lAST building job I'd ever want to do!
I can’t think of anyone more deserving of a dream shop than Matt. What a journey and how cool to have rode along. Here is to many warm, dry, comfortable future projects.
From past experience as a commercial and residential roofing contractor, I enjoyed your choice of contractors to get this job done. I know you are mostly a one man operation, but there is no better way to accomplish a large project than to just Bomb it with skilled tradesmen. Can't wait to see what you install in the new shop in the way of equipment and tools and storage. God speed !

@@vonstroop9866 I'm looking up, can't see it or hear it, hope is coming?
I’m so thankful for all these guys and gals working hard and showing us how it’s done. It’s cold but these guys went after it. Amazing work!
Really happy for you Matt, good things take time, only bad stuff is quick!
Definitely!
It’s a fitting tribute to your hard work, Matt. You do so much for us out here watching in Deviceland; it’s about time that you got to fulfil your dream 🙂
Lol bs
He said this concrete pour was quick, uh oh!
Rapid onset dementia disqualifies your comment. Fools tend to use definitive words such as always, never and only.
Matt, you have that 8-year-old ear-to-ear Christmas morning grin. Love it. Major milestone achieved and great to see your vision becoming reality. Keep up the great work and keep those videos coming. Cheers & God Bless.👍
As much as I enjoy your videos, there is something special about watching a bunch of professionals working together as a team. Hope they play as hard as they work 💪👍
Grano workers are some of the hardest workers on a site. They have long spells of waiting time but when they get into it Wow!
@ 11:20 yes the outside concrete will have “air” in it because it’s exposed to the elements and will expand and contract more compared to inside the shop. That’s why garage floors are more prone to cracking.
- From an ex mixer driver.
It's hard to remember that spot was a patch of woods just a year ago. It is a great looking shop.
Nice to see concrete contractors who show up AND do a good job. I've struck out a lot on my project with the jokers around here and wish I had someone as competent as your guys. Your project looks great!
HEY! Good morning Matt! All of us have been waiting for this! Happy Friday everybody!!
Good morning to you Matt. I can tell by your smile that you are more than PLEASED with the results; and you should be.
BIG FRIDAY!
I have to ask did you know how handy that light plant was going to be when you got it ??
That feeling when the building is closed up! It’s amazing how doors and windows changes the how you experience the building!
3:35 cement truck overflowing 😍
They do great work. Very professional. They all work so well together as a team.
You deserve this shop Matt and it's a pleasure watching your hard work pay off !!
I know you can't wait and will appreciate the closed in space...but you still can't even imagine how nice it will be working in there. I've had mine done for a few years. Much smaller cuz I'm in the city. But every time walking in it's just a big smile and sigh of accomplishment even after a few years. You'll wonder how you ever got along without it haha
Those concrete guys do a magnificent job. It's almost choreographed. Shop looks great, Matt!
You've done such am amazing job with everything, it looks absolutely incredible!
Thank you so much!
Hi Matt, you are still the best Channel on UA-cam! Kudos to the woman who was on that crew laying cement! Anyone who has ever done cement work knows just how heavy and hard that work is, made me smile to see her working like a pro!
Ya, i poured one slab for a sidewalk and it beat the hell outta me, cannot imagine how much work goes into something this big ha.
That concrete slab went down super fast man they are good looking nice and smooth Matt 7:12 @Diesel Creek
No drive over pit, I humbly suggest you expoxy seal coat the floor before any oil leaking machines get parked or stored on all that pristine concrete.
That concrete work is definely a young man’s game, made my back and knees ache just watching. Happy for you that you get your dream shop. Hard work is paying off.
Thanks 👍
DID A LITTLE IN '86...CONSTRUCTION WAS FUN...BUT CEMENT CAN KILL A GUYS BOD...
You ought to get an award for that video segment of the crew pouring the slab with the sun rising and the whole crew pulling the concrete, Absolutely beautiful and the best video on UA-cam!
The way they work together is such a work of art
Using the Pressure washer to clean the Control joints and Wow at that Reflective finish with the water you can see the trees in the finish Matt very cool 12:55 😎 @Diesel Creek
They really did a beautiful job with finishing the concrete. 4000 PSI. Great 3/13
I cant express how inspirational your channel is. I'm at peace with the World when I see
a good guy winning! Hard working real people, whats not to like.
can't wait to see where you go from here, I think it's going to be an amazing year
I hope so too!
Man it's nice to see your dreams come true! Have a Great 2023!!!!!
Math very happy for you man that the shop is done the outside now the inside can be insolated
Love seeing progress! My dad was a homebuilder. He always said he loved framing best because you can see the progress and it appears to move faster.
The color scheme is perfect Matt! Congrats fella, you deserve every bit of it!
Caulking the saw cuts; I taped both sides with duct tape, pinched the nozzle flat so it would sit in the seam , caulked it in and sprayed the caulk off with soapy water then scraped it off with a putty knife. Spray it again and pull up the tape and tool it if needed. I used poly urethane in the garage and self leveling in the driveway.
Beautiful great job with the joint sealer get this finished. 🙂
I know you said you were going to do sprayfoam in the ceiling but I hope you are also doing it on the walls, especially since they didn't tape the house wrap when they put it on. The sprayfoam will provide a more ridged structure and seal up any air leaks. Even if you just do 1 inch thick and then do the rest in something else.
either way, looking awesome.
Your kind of blew my mind that they didn't tape the seams of the house wrap. Even the companies who make the house wrap will tell you it's not even worth putting it on if you're not going to tape the seams
@@masterbates7016 I would still say it is worth it, creates a huge amount of wind block. They use to put tar paper on without taping back in the day, and the difference between that and no tarpaper would always be pretty big. But yes, huge draft spot without that taping and fiberglass's ability to insulate dramatically drops when it isn't sealed on both sides.
I was told to do the cut lines in my floor the exact same way.
Getting mine closed in was a big relief.
Very nice-looking shop. I like the color combo.
Matt: watching your dream come true is giving me such inner desire to accomplish, and I’m 64 years old!!!! I know most would say, ‘your time is up’ but I DON’T THINK SO!!! If you can IMAGINE IT, THEN IT CAN HAPPEN!!!!
25:18 FREAKEN HAPPY
Man, the shop is really looking great, Matt! Soon, you'll be working in the comfort of your own professionally built environment. I think I commented in an earlier post that I believe your work in your new building will go smoother (at least in some ways. I mean, "Christine" is still going to be who she is!) and faster. I am sure looking forward to seeing you turning wrenches in your new place!
*- Good to see this all coming together for you, Matt.*
*- Here is a thought for later:*
*- What if you come across tall double pained windows at auction or demo jobs?*
*- LOTS of natural light somehow makes any work place so much more enjoyable and productive.*
Matt will find a way, he always does
@@davidnoseworthy4540 .
*- Agreed. I am impressed with him, and always have been.*
Starting at 8:45 it looks like the three guys helping to spray the sealant I working on a movie set. One guys got a sound boom, the other one has the camera, the other one has the recording box and or is operating the trolly. AWESOME teamwork.
Holy shit... i've been subscribed for quite a while but i've only watched a few of your videos because i don't have much time to watch youtube with work and all, but all this time I had no idea that you're just right out the road. i saw the weirton construction truck and was like wtf? its cool to have a local guy doing well on youtube, something i've been wanting to do for years. needless to say i'll be making time to watch a lot more of your videos.
So happy for you Matt I know this has been a long time coming but it's finally a reality and there is no one more deserving than you...have to admit I had a good chuckle when you time lapsed the caulking..it appeared like you were "moon walking" as you were applying it🤣 anyhow it looks amazing and I really like your color choice on the exterior... Appreciate all you do and thanks for sharing your day with us.😊🔧🇺🇸👌🚜
YES! "moon walking" is the first thing I thought of, too! LOL...
This is going to be great, after all those years outside in snow and rain you deserve this shop!
Ugh! The mud and slush!
Wisdom is like muscles, you don't get it till after you done what you needed it for.
Brilliant one Matt, those concrete guys certainly work hard, no hanging around just get on with it. It's nice to see that it's now totally water tight and weather proof, looking forward to the day when you can use it. Its a lovely looking barn.
And gal apparently
Great video as always matt! I'm glad your shop is finally all enclosed and I cant wait to see that sweet old cat, you are living my dream!!
The semi-supervillains were killin' it on this video.
My favorite quote “experience is something you don’t have until just after you need it”
Matt, the look on your face when you are showing the doors says it all. So much hard work that you put into all of the ground prep, the heated floor and rebar work shows the absolute joy of seeing all of your work come together. It's a shop to be proud of for sure Matt. Is your electrician friend going to help you with all the electrical work? I'm happy and a wee bit envious for you Matt. I sure wish that back in the day I had such a shop for woodworking that I used to do and working on my vehicles. Good job and well earned Matt. I'm toasting you with a Newcastle Brown Ale and cheers from this old retired coot living the dream in Tennessee.
Your face says it all matey, it's great to see such happiness. You've worked hard and deserve the rewards.
Best regards and keep up the amazing work 🙂 Andy (UK)
As the garage doors were going in it felt warmer already. Shop is coming along great.
That shop looks so awesome it’s beautiful. Anybody would be proud to have that shop anybody
You were grinning from ear to ear at the end there! Richly deserved after all the hard work you've put into this project. Loving the updates and uploads about it and can't wait for the next episode. Thanks again. Hope 2023 is good for you and your family. Love from across the pond.
I get Way too much joy from watching the progress of other peoples successes.🤠 Congratulations again Matt! BTW. The Semi Super Villains are AWESOME!
Caulking/sealing ... angle your gun about 10 degrees back so its pointing down and ahead to where you are going . Don't drag it .. and then think of it like MIG Welding .. just watch the puddle in front of you and push the puddle along .. better filling, fewer air bubbles inside, less overflow.
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
That looked like hard work for the team as they poured and smoothed all that concrete, Matt. Congrats on the great progress towards the completion of your big shop.
Great video, as always. Also, it’s really heartwarming to see you give these guys eg the concrete crew, really positive advertising through your channel. There’s no doubting the quality of their workmanship and it shows in the joy you have in speaking about the results, and seeing it for ourselves. If I was needing a concrete job done and I lived in their area, I would 100% be looking to hire them. Kudos.
There’s something sinister about pouring concrete in the dark 😂cheers Matt🍻
Covert? Hah!
For later trial. I was taught that when applying a sealant into cracks as in caulking, you push the tube before you and you can see the product go into the gap. When you drag it over the crack, it tends to lay on top more than fall into the crack. Do a trial of push against drag.
I used to do a lot of commercial automated gate installations that would require us to cut in a vehicle detection loop for safety and to trigger it to open when you pull up to the inside of the gate. Was basically a 1 inch deep saw cut in the concrete or asphalt shaped like a rectangle that we would wrap some silicone wire in a loop around several times. Then we would use the Sika Self Leveling sealant in either grey or black to seal over the top of it. Worked out pretty good and allowed for some tool work before it set up hard in order to minimize wasted material. But if you got it anywhere other then where you wanted it, especially your cloths, it was there forever.
That's awesome Matt! I love the time lapse of the crews working it's so satisfying to watch those guys work their magic, take care buddy!
Congratulations Matt. Another milestone accomplished! I have been watching you for a while now. Keep the videos coming. First video of yours I saw was when you turn down the barn with the Cat with no cage.
That was a Willie Wonka Moment!
Matt, A good idea would have been to tape both sides of the edges, insert your filling, skim the top with a blade, peel back the tape for a clean edge!
Love the several quick action shots of the same thing. Makes the boring task seem a little more interesting
Well done Matt, another milestone completed. We should also congratulate the lads and lasses who did a wonderful job with the concrete and wall and doors. I am look forward to seeing the completed interior.
Matt picking contractors . . . "NOTHING BUT THE BEST!" And they have showed their expertise in these videos
A closed in shop, no way! It looks freaking amazing. Congratulations Matt!!!
Buy the siding for the side walls for when you enclose that porch and stick them in the rafters, because 5 years or more from now, they might not have that exact color or pattern.
Pennsylvania muscle! Well done.
Looking AWESOME, Matt!! SO happy for you! It will be so nice to be able to stay out of the elements now. She's all closed in! Isn't it great when a dream turns into a reality? I'm overjoyed for you!
Absolutely love this show. Matt keep up the good work.
I rarely, if ever say anything on UA-cam as I watch it on my Prime video TV and there is no option to leave anything more than a thumbs up and storage of the beast. (Think Ghostbusters)
Anyway Matt, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all you are doing with your own little corner of God's Green Earth and let you know that you are a very impressive young man. You work on one thing at a time and try not to rush anything.
Your wife is a Saint for letting you run all over the corner of Pennsylvania and loving you at the same time. I hope that you last a lifetime together.
Anyway you take care and be careful, you're playing with some big dangerous toys so it is always good to think of where all your appendages are at all times so you don't become the victim of an industrial accident.
Greetings from an Iowa Flatlander transplant to The Great State of Texas.
Matt, congrats on finally getting the shop closed in. You're gonna love it!
Happy for you Matt. To finally get your dream shop closed in. Onwards and upwards.
Looks awesome !!!! Can’t wait for future episodes. I’ve watched all your videos from the beginning and it’s awesome to see all the progress keep up the good work!
Awesome! Thank you!
That's a good looking Shop Matt.
It’s the cleanest it will ever be but she’s ready to get dirty
Congratulations Matt on your much anticipated "dream shop". I'm excited for you!! Looking forward to seeing the progress and other "hidden surprises" you are holding back on 😊
Wow, watching this gives me goose bumps, You have the shop most people would be jealous of. It was worth waiting for, and all your hard work! Congrats man!
Matt when we do our joints we blast them out with a saw first to get all the debris out then vacuum up the dust (we use the skill saw set up for soft cutting with the roller plate and extended handle) then we roll backer rod into the joint with roller tool that you can adjust the depth on we do 3/8”. That way whatever material your using (we use vulkem) doesn’t get wasted in massive voids and takes far less to do a slab.
I can tell by that huge grin, you're ecstatic to get to using your building. Very nice. It's never big enough. This is can attest too.
I just want to compliment the concrete guys on their hard work and the amazing teamwork. They are definitely a top-notch company in my opinion. People don't realize how hard that job is and I hope some of them see this comment. I'm an electrician and work with Mason's often and they are some of the best guys to work with. I hope this video gets them more business because they deserve it
Matt, I love the way you do things, it really amazes me about how much work you go through to make the videos so good
I appreciate that!
Getting the garage door(s) in is the best feeling!
Howdyyawl from the land down under. It's coming together now. Looking great. You've done well to be patient & not let it overcome you with anxiety. It's come along way from a dirt patch to what is standing there. Be proud of what you have achieved. 😊
Congrats Matt on getting the concrete pad done and all three garage shop doors.. looking like a adventure that turn-out great..
Fantastic, Matt!!! We've been waiting for this update! This will be quite the operation once finished (but, will it ever really be finished?). You sure picked the right concrete company, they are on the ball! Be well, be safe!
I dunno who Parker is but they yell at him a lot! So cool to see your shop getting finished up, glad you will have a nice warm space to work in winter now
He’s the newest guy I think 😂🤷🏼♂️
Those guys know their shit
Good Friday everyone, let's enjoy another wonderful video by diesel creek together 🙂
I really like seeing the WWM on chairs in the porch pour. The way they lifted the header for the garage wall was smart, too.
Ordinarily, I like to spec a LWT "loft" space over tracked OHD like that. Would be a pain in your case, probably needing 410 series TJI.
Note that you need to plan your lighting scheme around having the doors open, which block roof-mounted fixtures (hence making a cubby over them)
Still, cool to see.
Pretty smooth moonwalk while filling the joints in the time lapse.
Bollocks to that method. Get some good masking tape and mask of each side of the expansion cut, allow 3-5 mm gap. Make a tool with a slightly bulging blade attach to broom handle or similar. Gun the sealant into approx 10 metre lights, run the tool down the joint have clean container to hand and put the excess in to it,repeat process approximately 20 more metres then go back to the fist joint and remove tape. Wallah done!
Shop is looking good! Can’t wait to see it complete and you working out of it.
Hey Matt
I just got my new shop built this week too! It's not anywhere near as big as yours (25x30)but it's serving as my dream shop as well. I'm mostly a wood worker but I dabble in automotive and metal machining as well. I'm hoping we have as much fun in our respective shops as it's looking like we will. I enjoy your show and have been watching since you dug Christine out of the bushes. Keep up the good work! Dave
