I’ve also been to Auschwitz it’s one of the most eerie places Iv’e ever been too. Before I went there I’d read that nothing grows there’s no animals or birds anywhere there I scoffed at that but it’s all true , no birds fly over the camp the grass is turf that’s been planted regular because nothing lasts there.
This is so sad. What happened to Poland and people in Poland is so sad. How dare anyone just walk into a country where people live happily and exterminate people in so many different cruel ways.
A friend of mine now deceased was born in pre-war Polish Auschwitz, went to Czechoslovakia to study Medicine but after 3 years was thrown out of the University because he was Jewish, went down to Italy to study to be a sailor and travelled the World for 12 years. He was very quick to pick up languages and eventually spoke 9 including Danish. He met his Austrian born wife in Sydney Australia when he was in port and they married shortly after. Both made Aliyah to Israel and changed their family name 'to fit in' in a new Country and established a family in a Kibbutz.

I am the great granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. Never forget! We start the kids in my family young about what happened to our family and our fellow Jews.

How did Wolf's mother manage to escape 'the march' west and manage to find a facory. I was told these marches were death marches and people were shot for falling out of line. It is hard to ask, because merely asking, suggests a form of 'suspicion' that the figures were funked with.
