Here's a flip through of my August pages in my Hobonichi A5 plain notebook that I've been using as my main journal! 📖💖🐕 I talk a lot [as usual!] and try to offer some decorating tips along the way!

I enjoyed your flip through.I don't think I have seen anyone cover tomoe paper with full sheets of paper. Love your style, honesty and enthusiasm.
So, after I got over the fact that you where completely covering TOMOE RIVER paper with scrapbook paper and journaling cards instead of writing directly on it, I really, really, really enjoyed this. Please film more flipthroughs of your journals, every page is so beautiful!

I also have pictures of my cats & family in my Weeks mega. Even when I'm at work, they can be close to me. My Hobo Cousin is sooo chunky right now. I don't know if I can make it until December? But your layouts are so cute, how can we resist? Wilbur is the happiest dog! Look at that smile!!

Oh I enjoyed watching this flip through so much. It’s very inspiring. I hope you’ll do some more process videos soon. I’d love to see a video of your typewriter, do you use colored typewriter ink? In the video it doesn’t look black to me.... anyways, I love how you type on your journal pages. I’d love any peek into how you do that! Yay! I love seeing your layouts. You're so good at combining things and arranging them together to look pleasing. Maybe if you're worried about people seeing your private thoughts you can blur it out? I don't do video editing so I don't know how hard that is. But I really appreciate you showing a flip through.
I also totally relate to how you feel about your dog. I thank my dog everyday for being with me and being the perfect dog for me. I dreamed of having a dog my whole life and it's every bit as good as I thought. I just appreciate him so much. there's no other love like the unconditional love from a dog.

I am thinking about starting a travel notebook. I just discovered the Hobonichi notebook. They are pretty pricey. It seems like a good notebook though.

Love, LOVE, Love, Humble!!! Wilbur is sooo cute and love you celebrate him every month! :D I've been thinking a lot about my English bulldog Angus Rose, who passed away a year ago last month... my husband thought it was weird I was remembering it down to the second, but I was... :\ How can you forget something like that? But on a happier note, we will be celebrating our one year anniversary of having Bruce, our adopted English bulldog on Sunday, which is also our wedding anniversary. I try to remind myself that out of sadness there can come a glimmer of sunshine and happiness and hope. I still miss Angus so much; I don't have the heart to remove her photos from my Hobo covers... *sigh* You're the best, Humble! Love your video!

What a beautiful journal! Don’t worry, I’m not zooming in to read what you wrote;) I’m just so enchanted by your style and spirit and I love the way you love your dog! I feel the same way about my dogs! Love all the ‘puppy’ stickers you used and then I realized you were saying ‘puffy’ stickers, but I like to think you meant ‘puppy’ stickers because that’s too cute! Love the use of journaling cards and paper packs! Been looking for paper packs here in the U.S. but can’t find any like what you have:( love the colored balls around your journal! Makes it look so happy and festive! So glad you finally got a cell phone because the sprocket is a wonderful addition to your journaling tool box! I was playing in mine and printed out a bunch of photos of my new hobonichis and covers! Such a nerd! You are RIGHT-the purpose of life is to love and be loved and there’s no borders on that. Animals are precious beings who deserve all the love we can give them because they bring so much to our lives with their calm acceptance and exuberant unconditional love. I've seen videos of people showing the craft supplies at Tuesday Morning stores, and they have paper packs, journaling card sets and all kinds of other supplies for crazy cheap! Wish we had a Tuesday Morning store up here! I agree -- it's great having the Sprocket in my journaling supplies! It just makes it so convenient to print pictures, and being such a sticker lover, I love that the photos are adhesive-backed! Humblechan aw! Thanks for such kind words! I just love your energy so much and watching your videos makes me so very happy;) I DO have a Tuesday Morning close by! Awesome! Will check that out immediately! I’m so loving my Hobonichi covers and techos and everything! I’ve been planning my 2020 system and I’m super excited about decorating pages and making layouts before the new year! LOTS of fun to be had before January! I’m so loving my London cover on my paprika weeks mega and the dasenka cover is fitting my A6 like a glove. I just love looking at them and touching them...isn’t that weird? I’m waiting on the wood bird zipper cover and A6 techo which I plan to use for memory keeping! You’ve given me lots of great ideas for how I might do that. Your videos add so much goodness and positivity to my life and I just love you are such an animal lover! I have to say it made me tear up so much when you mentioned all my dogs by name. That was so touching to me! I’ve given them all hugs and kisses and hellos from Chan and Wilbur! I look soooo forward to your next video whenever you have time. Great work as usual! Just to clarify, I think you said it at the end of the video, but you're journaling in the newer A5 notebook Hobonichi released and not the Cousin? And I am so smitten with the layouts using the vintage typewriter.

I loved the video, and your journal is a pleasure to look at! Just one question, and I’m not judging you!, but why don’t you use a cheaper notebook for this? I’m still (STILL!!) waiting for my first Hobonichi to arrive, but from everything I read about Tomoe River paper, isn’t it a “waste” not using it? Anyway, I think it’s gorgeous! 😊
That's a fair question, Samanta. I do write on the Tomoe River paper directly for some of my entries, and my weekly planner layouts in the same notebook are written on the TR paper, but I just didn't choose to do that for most of my August entries. When I'm journaling, I really go by what I'm in the mood to use. Even though I love the paper in Hobonichis, I love all of my patterned paper, ephemera, journaling cards and other supplies just as much, and I want to use it all. If I can use them all together, it's a win for me. As for your question about why I don't use a cheaper notebook, the plain notebook from Hobonichi is actually quite affordable for the quality of the notebook, which I really like. If I'm going to put this much love into a journal, I want to really like the quality of the notebook itself. Even with all of the things I've added to my Hobonichis and how chunky they have gotten, none of the bindings on my Hobos have ever fallen apart, so I'm really happy with the way the notebooks are bound and made. TR paper is awesome, but it's still paper, so I prefer to use it in whatever way that makes me excited to journal when I have the chance to. To limit myself would take some of the fun out of it. I hope you get your Hobonichi order soon!
@@Humblechan Thank you for replying! :) I think you're absolutely right, we need to use everything we have, and you have to use what you want, when you want, whatever way you like! You do have great taste and your supplies are delightful. Great point about the binding of quality notebooks over cheaper ones, we really don't want our journals to fall apart! You made me think about using my own stuff on Hobonichi. :)

Thank you, Olympia! 💖🤗 I used my vintage Olympia SM3 [thought you'd like the name! 😁] for my typed pages. Most typewriters have a standard typeface [including many Olympias], but I found one with this adorable typeface that they called 'Professional Elite No. 41' -- it's one of my favourites!! 😸💗📃
