This is my favorite year rm 125, love the sound. It's just so fast through the gears, one burst and shift. You can hear them for miles, deep raw power.

yes! it's a really fast bike! actually it is the best 125 motor in 1978 when it comes to tourqe and power!

If you weren’t on a em in those days , your were left behind.
The hole line up at the races were rm.

44 years later and the rm's are still ripping!! Suzuki built some of the best bikes in late 70's...video should be sent to the head of suzuki headquarters just so they can realize what they gave up on... sad that suzuki gave up on the rm/pe lineup.💥💯

You can see why Enduro or trail bikes don't have such a narrow powerband. He had to finesse it up that loose path to avoid digging a hole. I had a tired YZ125 maybe 1980. It was still fun.

The 1978 Suzuki RM125 was as close as you can get to a Works bike. Guys raced them successfully into 1980 and still won. A friend got one for Christmas and I remember my 1975 CR250 had to get into 3rd gear before I would pull away on from him.

True facts. Right out the box only thing I added was a wider rear tire and I was racing spring of 78. Run it 2 seasons and put it in the barn. It’s still there and tires hold air.
Looking back now wish I had not neglected it , bar stays kinda damp and bike has a little surface rust here and there . Throttle is stuck , clutch stuck.
Dang thing still has 45 year old fuel
      In it …

I’ve still got mine. Unfortunately haven’t started it since 82, might have rode it 2 times after 79. It’s been sitting in the barn all these years. Motors still free and compression is good.
I wouldn’t dare to try and start it though.
45 years of barn dust on it… probably just leave it that way.
