Awesome Josh. I like that set up sir. I want to wish you best of luck on your up coming tourament. Thank you for sharing. God bless you and your whole family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Lol.. Anyway run it on my 23 Hoodoo impulse 120, fin drive. I love to cvr water, especially in tournaments. I did change my cables to stainless. With all my add-ons, accessories, etc. I'm getting 5 to 5.5mph. depending on conditions, current. I'm 5ft 7 158lbs. So my setup, moves pretty fast. The Hobie's I do really love, just not a fan of the rudder systems. But they move great with many different motors, especially a 3hp electric. Epic vid bro. 🎣 🌊
Nice video! I copied your setup with the Harborfrieght toolbox and two 12v 50ah Amazon batteries for huge savings, working fine so far. Same NK 180 motor. I also used their overpriced quick disconnect kit. Then I realized after the first test cruise I needed to order the throttle pigtail extension so I can remove the throttle when I remove the motor for transport and storage. Once mounted to a plate like the yakattack torqeedo throttle mount you can't access the wire to unplug it anymore, the pigtail extension fixes that. Too bad my OT Sportsman 120 PDL is a barge and barely goes 5mph lol. I am already eyeing the new NK 300 Newport Vessels just launched but 36v batteries are still way expensive and three 12v takes up too much room imho. We will see what next year brings!
@@BASSnBEER So not much faster really. I mostly fish slow rivers so I need more power, even though the NK 180 did ok, 2.9 mph @55% going upriver in the slow sections, I had to push it to 65-75% in the faster shallow rapid areas. 2.5 hours total use going upriver, then back down at 55% and I finished out around 60% battery remaining. Not bad but that NK 300 would be SWEET power! I need to win the lottery to get a decent 36v 50AH+ battery for it lol. Really wish I had 60AH or more for my NK 180 as it is. More gas is always better than running out imho.
@@BASSnBEER Nice I'll check that out as my father is hoping I will tow him around when he joins me come warm weather time lol. Also the NK300 is more powerful than Torqeedos waaaay overpriced 1103 motor and you can choose your own battery size! Im SO going to get it eventually, maybe after a year of running this NK180.
Josh, I would add some padding around the batteries for tighter fit. That way they wont bounce or move very much. Slick setup. Love to know how those batteries perform and how much weight you added to the kayak. Also, blur your address on the shot when you are opening the box with the batteries
So I run a negative on one battery to a positive on the other!! Then on the other end I ran a wire from the positive to the quick connect then a wire from the negative to the quick connect which then connects to the motor!!
Got my two 100ah MINIs, put 'em in a BLACK ATTACK crate. Added charger/12v output ports and USB outlets with charge indicator for each battery. Total weight about 50 LBS. Not cheap but the NK180 runs forever. Wish I could post a Pic cause it is sweet
Mannnn I actually don't remember, it was a tough size for me to find...I ended up taking the throttle with me to lowes and trying out 30 different screws!! The one I ended up finding was to long and I had to use like 4 or 5 washers on each one!
No worries bud! I found out that my yakattack mount specially for torquerdos come with a 4mm screw and added a couple washers onto it. Who knew yakattack included it and the holes prebuilt but align with the controllers for both companies. I appreciate you following up and tight lines!
Still love it man!! Batteries have worked out great, haven't changed anything either!! I'm actually looking to buy the mount for my PA12 so I can switch the motor and Batteries back and forth!
@@BamaBassCatcher99 the pin is attached to a piece of paracord it comes that way and I've got it tied to the kayak but I don't think that things coming out

Did recently...we fished a small river that had dropped and had to run up......

@BASS n BEER !! What is the wire that you use to hook the batteries together? To make it a series? Any certain kind or guage I need?
