Awesome review! I’ve own this rod and totally agree with you. I feel this rod is under the radar for the mainstream guys out there. Two years of ownership and I couldn’t be happier with my OPST Skagit set up.

Just to point out the rod shown in the video is an older model. They have modified the grips and now have a composite cork section at the very top of the grip as well as the 3 composite cork inlays at the top of the grip as well. I have 2 of the newer version. Love the rod overall, just alittle disappointed with how much filler is used in the cork

Do you by chance have the link to this exact rods?? Maybe what lines and setup/tips you had for this rod?
I’ll be using it for Oregon salmon/steelhead and wondering how to get the perfect setup to tackle the fish in dead of winter/fall/spring. What’s your definition of small river?😅
Is it possible to sling 6 to 8 inch pike flies on this #8 rod skagit style?
