That was certainly a wild finish! I wanted to thank everybody again for watching this strange challenge! Let me know if you’d like to see more videos like this!
When u run out of letter nuzlockes u should do numbers with the pokedex numbers so for example any pokemon with one in the dex number can be used during the 1 nuzlocke
One of the great features of this game is the fact that clefairy is considered one of the starters because prior to Pokémon launch Clefairy was supposed to be series mascot, before pikachu being chosen. Even was planned to be Ash’s starter in the anime, so a pretty neat add to pay homage to the first idea!
This was a great concept! The board game gave random encounters that were nicely tuned for the ingame progression. And the final team turned out really great. Well done!
This game stands out to me because at either my 8th or 9th birthday party, I received not one, not two, but THREE copies of this game from three different people because literally every one of my friends' parents looked at me and thought, damn, this kid sure likes Pokemon.
I actually didn't know that and am extremely dissapointed as someone who was a kid for the first 4 gens, with Johto being easily my favorite region to date. I would've been all over a Johto version of that board game and I didn't even like the Kanto version...wait maybe it's a good thing I didn't know about it
I like that you recap the team (and their moves and natures) before the elite four - it’s a nice reminder so I don’t have to go back and remember the details from throughout. It is a nice touch! 😀
If you like that idea, check out Enter the Unknown! He's done quite a few that way, but instead did random pokemon from a deck of cards for each battle, not per route encounter :)
Loved the concept. Super cool to see a diverse range of Pokemon. Particularly Pokemon you'd never see in the starting areas. In my Nuzlockes I use the last elite 4 level (60 for Lance's Dragonite) instead of the champions starter (63) as it makes the early fights a bit harder. Great run!
Not gonna like I think this is the most interesting nuzlock I've seen. Very entertaining and fun to watch! Funny enough slowbro was always one of my favorite water types, so seeing yours shine at the end was hype!
This is such an interesting idea! Saw a notification pop up for it while I was at work and got super excited to watch it! Really interested to see how this goes
Bit late to the commenting party but this concept is so cool! I've been binging your videos lately and it's been really helping with my own nuzlocking haha!
This is one of the few videos I’ve seen him make and I really appreciate that he has the Pokémon, it’s name, and what order it is in in the top right corner of the video at all times.
My friends and I played this game a lot in high school (half-ironically). We added a bunch of rules, like type effectiveness giving a combat bonus and a lot more forced pvp battles, to make it a bit more competitive. It ended up being kind of fun
Aww, I had this boardgame back in the day! I don't remember if I knew how to actually play, but seeing all the Pokemon coins was fun. Brings back old memories, man 😊
Video is great. Love the concept. I completely forgot the boardgames u til you showed it. Interesting wat hing you play with no ev/iv training. Looks like it made it way hardet
I like the concept! I play Master Trainer with my friends so it was an interesting watch! in the future, I think it would be fair to use the "-ball item cards" in your future nuzlockes provided you actually have the ball for it.
I STG this channel is GOATED 🐐. I remember seeing you plug your UA-cam on Reddit awhile back…I mean…I have never used Reddit in my life…anyway that switch up you made from 10 minute to Quick was an excellent choice.
These types of videos are the reasons why I'm subscribed, and hit that bell icon! keep up with this substance! Your especially my work smoke break watch. You have my full attention when I take my Scheduled break 😎
Honestly FR/LG nuzlockes are usually my least favourite as I feel I've seen it all before. This however is arguably my favourite video on your channel, having the different encounters than you normally get thanks to the board game was great! Love your stuff as always! On a sidenote, I too have a complete copy of the game, for my birthday this year my partner got me a Digimon Board Game which seems to play very similarly!
Nice challenge! Since you have infinite rare candies, you should try applying each elite 4 member a different lelvel cap. This way lorelei, Agatha and Bruno should be more challenging
Cool idea, but I'd add one more little rule, to balance the coloured tiles. You're only permited to use the evolutionary stage of the Pokémon you actually catched in the Board Game. These would make the early game slightly easier, by sometimes giving you underleved Evolutions, while making the end game obviously harder. That way risking going to the Red Pieces, or taking the slightly easier Blue Pieces is a strategic decision. While in the current ruleset, trying the red pieces is obviously just worse, as most blue encounters evolve into red encounters anyway. Also I'd say you should be allowed to stay on each route long enough 'til you atleast encounter a Pokémon once on this route (but not necessarily catch it, as it's really easy to just skip past all encounters with some high rolls)
I have the week off work this week, and i'm totally bored out of my mind! you gave me the idea of starting a new Nuzlocke! Wish me luck. Gonna start with Leaf Green, on my trusty GBA SP!
I never had this as a kid (born a bit after it), but I bought this and the Johto one a few years ago. Fun stuff. This one is more fun, but I try to play the Johto one more because I spent WAY more on it. With Kanto, it can go a long while and seems like nobody will win. With Johto, you know exactly who's gonna win as soon as somebody gets halfway through the board. Definitely quicker, though.
I had Pokemon Champion Island board game during the era of board Games coming with DVDs to play along with. Very fun, iirc. I dont think I ever won tho. Rng has never loved me and never will
Gonna be honest the idea of nuzlocking the actual board game sounded way more interesting to me and this just feels like a randomizer with extra steps. Hope you had fun but I'm not that big into nuzlockes in the first place.
Why not do a multi- player version of this idea? It is a board game after all. Changes strategies, and can allow for event cards, with trades or battles.
I appreciated the names quite a bit. I'd be interested to see how that E4 would go using the other commonly used level cap of the highest level E4 Pokemon instead of the trainer. I reckon at level 60 you would still have been fine but I imagine how many of the ohkos would have ended up as ranges.
That was certainly a wild finish! I wanted to thank everybody again for watching this strange challenge! Let me know if you’d like to see more videos like this!
Amazing video, hope to see more like this!
👌
When u run out of letter nuzlockes u should do numbers with the pokedex numbers so for example any pokemon with one in the dex number can be used during the 1 nuzlocke
Let's go bro u successfully made slowbro into a slowerbro
I hope you do another one of these, you think randomizing the pokemon placements would do anything?
One of the great features of this game is the fact that clefairy is considered one of the starters because prior to Pokémon launch Clefairy was supposed to be series mascot, before pikachu being chosen. Even was planned to be Ash’s starter in the anime, so a pretty neat add to pay homage to the first idea!
And then it actually was Red's Starter in the first manga.
This was a great concept! The board game gave random encounters that were nicely tuned for the ingame progression. And the final team turned out really great. Well done!

Johto one is a lot quicker than Kanto.
And a lot rarer/more expensive.
I had the hoenn version as a kid.
I had a Pokemon board game for DP that had a disk for your t.v. I can’t remember what the game is like but that could be fun to do this for too
I have the Johto one! I think there's a Hoenn one, too, but I've never seen it in the wild.
I was really hoping skip bro landed a crit psychic to take out blastoise. That would have been epic.
I like that you recap the team (and their moves and natures) before the elite four - it’s a nice reminder so I don’t have to go back and remember the details from throughout. It is a nice touch! 😀
That's so cool 😎 Try a nuzlock using Pokemon cards this time hope you try it someday 😁

Since I love abstract concepts for nuzlockes this was great and I am delighted to see Kingler in a run :)
Me too dude, me to
I too made up my own rules for this game and its sequel, which were then combined into 1 massive game as well.
That is the most interesting and entertaining way to get encounters. I loved the freaking video dude. Wish you could do one like that for every gen
I'm not kidding, this nuzlocke was one of the most entartaining nuzlockes I've ever watched. Amazing job!
This game was my childhood! So many memories playing it together with my family. Never thought I'd ever see it getting nuzlocked
I feel like there was a missed opportunity to nickname Slowbro 'Hasbro'
Not gonna like I think this is the most interesting nuzlock I've seen. Very entertaining and fun to watch! Funny enough slowbro was always one of my favorite water types, so seeing yours shine at the end was hype!
This was very cool! It made you use pokemons you usually don't have the opportunity to use at specific steps of the game!
This is such an interesting idea! Saw a notification pop up for it while I was at work and got super excited to watch it! Really interested to see how this goes

This is an absolutely brilliant idea for a nuzlocke and great execution. Loved this video. Slowbro is such an underrated mon
Great idea! I also really liked your layout
I'm here just for the Pokemon Board game puns
This is an absolutely incredible video with a phenomenal premise! You are the most creative and entertaining Nuzlocker on this platform!
This is a great combination of both!
My friends and I played this game a lot in high school (half-ironically). We added a bunch of rules, like type effectiveness giving a combat bonus and a lot more forced pvp battles, to make it a bit more competitive. It ended up being kind of fun
Loved the naming scheme

24:00 I assume that Cinnebar is a resort town. So...yeah. Think about all the swimmers surrounding the place.
Video is great. Love the concept. I completely forgot the boardgames u til you showed it. Interesting wat hing you play with no ev/iv training. Looks like it made it way hardet
This was definitely new and refreshing, I didn't even know this game existed.
This is super unique. Awesome video dude!
I love board games and I love strange things. Keep up the wonderful work 💫
I like the concept! I play Master Trainer with my friends so it was an interesting watch! in the future, I think it would be fair to use the "-ball item cards" in your future nuzlockes provided you actually have the ball for it.
The names are 10/10

This has to be the most creative nuzlocke I have ever seen, great video!
This video revealed my hidden love for voltorb. I never realised that I even liked it before now.
Honestly this sounds pretty fun you should do the sequel which is really interesting
Nice challenge! Since you have infinite rare candies, you should try applying each elite 4 member a different lelvel cap. This way lorelei, Agatha and Bruno should be more challenging
First thought was this will be easy and lame. Buy the 3rd restart I’m so invested. Great video
You should definitely do another one of these, the rng makes this so fun to watch
Such a cool idea, loved the board game growing up
I literally still have this game in my closet with my other board games. Always a favorite.
You are an absolute Gigachad. Mad respect.
Loved the video dude, only halfway in but one of the most creative nuzlockes I've seen in a looooong time. Keep up the good work 💯
You have some of the most creative challenge ideas I've seen.
This is such a good concept and I love it. Your channel is so great because of how unique your nuzlockes are. Keep it up!
My favourite part is the board game themed nicknames :)
Jeeez.... so nostagic! I remember playing this with my cousins every weekend. Good times!
Cool idea, but I'd add one more little rule, to balance the coloured tiles.

24:55 Slowpoke
Whoa I remember that game!! Played sometimes with friends when I was a kid, but we never could finish the game haha
Damn, I've watched all your videos. This is such a unique concept and I love it!
I have the week off work this week, and i'm totally bored out of my mind!
you gave me the idea of starting a new Nuzlocke!
Wish me luck. Gonna start with Leaf Green, on my trusty GBA SP!
I bet this board game is still sitting somewhere in my parents basement from my childhood. I haven’t thought of it in years thanks for the nostalgia!
1:24 bulbasaur casually having less yellow-stat than the other starters
Holy crap this is so much freaking fun! A very clever idea.
Loved this game! Until my little brother threw all the pieces down a vent 😠
I never had this as a kid (born a bit after it), but I bought this and the Johto one a few years ago. Fun stuff.

Love the boardgame themed names 😃
How I never thought of this ?holy crap that's awesome
29:45 we don't talk about Bruno.
So let's move straight to Agatha.
I used to love the pokemon chips from this board game as a kid
I didn’t even know this board game existed but making it into a Nuzlocke is honestly so amazing
I always like seeing your nicknames.
I've learned of some new board games with this one.
As a boardgames nerd I really enjoyed the theming of the nicknames
Ever since I played Pokemon Moon, I've had a soft spot for Grimer and Muk. Such solid 'mons.
The RNG Gods have smiled upon you, Quick. That was the slowest Quick Nuzlockes ever.
i love this game. :) i have a really cool digimon board game as well lol.
This actually kicked ass dude
This is such a good video. Good job 👍
The Name Scheme of Board Games/Card Games is extremely Genius
Probably the single most clever idea for a nuzlocke. I love this and your content!!
I had Pokemon Champion Island board game during the era of board Games coming with DVDs to play along with. Very fun, iirc. I dont think I ever won tho. Rng has never loved me and never will
Would love to see this again
I like how each of the 'mons are named for a card or board game. Very fun.
Yo! Gloomhaven representation? Noice.
This was awesome! Loved the idea
This unlocked some core memories of mine
This is…odd but i did not expect it congrats you were the first to do this
Seeing Slowbro do all that in the Champ fight basically proves that Slowbro is a top tier Pokemon in any game
Gonna be honest the idea of nuzlocking the actual board game sounded way more interesting to me and this just feels like a randomizer with extra steps. Hope you had fun but I'm not that big into nuzlockes in the first place.
I tried to watch the whole video but got board
Exactly what I hoped for when I clicked on the video
These nicknames are so well found.
No One can stop Mr. King Domino.
I own the sequel to this board game! I love it
Loved the board game names
This reminds me of the diamond and pearl TV game I used to play as a kid. I played the shit out of that game
i like that when sac skip bro hes like nope no way and kills him
Connect 3 is genius. 😂
This was so creative I wanna see you do it again
Cool. Sequels would be neat.
Why not do a multi- player version of this idea? It is a board game after all. Changes strategies, and can allow for event cards, with trades or battles.
These names are incredible 😂
Charcasone really got me 😂
I appreciated the names quite a bit. I'd be interested to see how that E4 would go using the other commonly used level cap of the highest level E4 Pokemon instead of the trainer. I reckon at level 60 you would still have been fine but I imagine how many of the ohkos would have ended up as ranges.
Not to say you should change your level cap.
