I've never seen Montu with a line except for the immediate loading area where you pick which row you sit in. Another reason why Montu is one of my favorite rides ever!

Easily my favorite invert! I love the smoothness, the speed, the inversions... EVERYTHING!
The sad thing is you can feel montu lose it's speed, especially after the mcbr.

Jared Andell after the mcbr it loses a lot of speed due to that cursed trim brake. And for some reason back seat is forceless

Jared Andell don't get me wrong it's a fantastic ride, easily in the top 4 coasters. It's just that it loses speed. Mainly because of the trim. But I heard at night they'll deactivate the trim brake.
If ur like me, u hate roller coasters and when ur stomach drops. My bestfriend FORCED me on...and I loved it so much we went on 23 more times that day. This is the best ride ever. No stomach drop AT ALL. Just an amazing breeze of air.

@@sofiaturner007 it's not really noticible, because your feet are in the same position, just nothing below them. Inverts are really fun. The first and only one I've been on so far is Raptor at Cedar Point.

Montu is my favorite ride there . First it feels really fast. Second it feels really smooth . Third you don't get a headache from its inversions.
i had a killer headache and i still have it (it’s been 7 hours)
First rode montu when i was 9. Now 17 years later i was nostalgic the whole ride, i rode it at night during the christmas lights. Definetly feel age in this ride but the adrenaline and sheer fun never gets old.

This is still my favorite roller coaster. The first time I rode it, I was shocked by how long it was. The total ride time is over 2 minutes when most coasters only average 60-75 seconds!
This coaster is hands down one of my favorites of all time for the smooth ride, basically no line, and all the amazing twists, turns and inversions. Best if you ride in the back
When the train goes down the first drop, I like that thundering noise it makes and also the g-force in that section. :D

I do have to say for anyone looking to go on this ride and thinks it's all chill, it's the most forceful ride in the entire park, my legs went numb after I went on the ride lol it was awesome!!! Also Kumba is another crazy and forceful ride but Montu was mind blowing
I broke my arm a few months ago and got the cast of almost a month ago I think but I ended up trying cobras curse after my cast was off and did cheetah hunt and did good do u think I could handle montu

This is why I like watching coaster videos without music. When I hear people scream it’s a good gauge on how forceful/fast it is. Also, agreed! Love this ride tho.

That's a shame. You missed out on one of the best coasters out there. This is my favorite coaster. Hopefully you get to go back and ride it soon.

This was my favorite coaster to ride when we had our season passes and lived in Florida!! One of the few things I miss with living in NC now.
If you take a trip to Virginia, you can hit up the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg I believe, and they have The Griffin, which is the same exact ride
Yep this is older than afterburn at carowinds but I liked it better for some reason probably because I rode it 30 times before carowinds got after burn I already rode that
Trust me this is the best first ride to go on. I HATED rollercoasters and was always too afraid to go on any. I wanted to get on one but always chickened out. This year I finally went to Busch Gardens with some friends and they wanted me to ride every rollercoaster at the park. This was the first one I went on. Trust me, even if you are scared of rollercoasters, go on it. The drop may look intimidating, but you don't feel the drop at all. If you get dizzy, this may not be the ride for you, but if you are afraid of the drops, this is the perfect one to go on. Some of the other rides you definitely do feel the drop, but this is one of the few, you don't.

When you first go up like when it’s slanted that’s when I had the most regret THE RIDE LOKEY MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE UR GONNA FALL OUT
At 2:02, the dive into the trench, then the snappy as hell zero g roll directly into another trench is my favorite element on any coaster, ever. This is an all time great ride from B&M

I love the new 60fps so much! It unlocks a whole new realm of POVs! It's like... Now you guys have to go back and redo all of the roller coasters!

I have been fortunate enough to visit Florida from the UK ten times over the years and Montu is definitely one of the very best coasters there, I love it, It never lets up from start to finish

Went on this when it was brand new 24 years ago, and it still looks great today.
I went on this ride when I was afraid of loops, and now I wish I could go again😑! And I don't live anywhere near florida ugh
I rode this back in 1996 (it was brand new!), and so distinctly remember that there was water and crocodiles in the bottom of the ride. It seems they drained it in this video, though.

Its fast but you had a straight face because of how smooth the ride is and since is so fast it keeps your head back straightforward

there are three inverts with that element. Montu, Afterburn, and Banshee.
chobo500 Only Montu and Afterburn have a batwing. Banshee has a dive loop, a zero-g roll, a pretzel knot, an in-line twist and two vertical loops. You're probably confusing the pretzel knot with a batwing.
Really? It looks alot like a Batwing though. What's the difference?
chobo500 A pretzel knot is similar to the batwing, except on a pretzel knot the entrance and exit of the inversion is formed to look like a pretzel, while a batwing is more of a heart-shaped inversion.
in other words he is saying you enter the inversion from the right and then invert to the left then invert to the right and exit the element to left
funny thing is its almost a reverse copy of alpengeist with a few changes but for the most part the same but opposite

Montu is glossy smooth, you barely feel a thing except in the back row it’s a little rough but much more whippy and intense
Montu and Alpengeist aren't mirror images of each other... Montu is riding really smoothly, as of right now my #1 on the park
Montu and alpengeist are not mirror images of each other in any way... Just for starters alpengeist is 45 feet taller than the montu. Also alpengeist is a terrain coaster, and montu is not. Montu also has 7 inversions, where alpengeist has 6. The list goes on...
I was instantly addicted to this the first time riding. I sat in the way last row and rode it constantly. The staff didn’t even mind.

In my opinion, one of the best B&M inverts based on what I've ridden so far. I still need to do Afterburn, Banshee, Raptor, Talon, Patriot, Flight Deck, Great Bear, and Silver Bullet before I REALLY decide on my favorite invert.
I've ridden Afterburn last August and it's my 2nd favorite invert behind Montu. Still have more credits to go.

i went on this ride. it looks super scary but it’s so intense that the feeling you’d normally get in your stomach is literally gone. you feel absolutely nothing. just a bit of pressure. it’s really fun though. i 100% recommend

This is a fun roller coaster - and I don't like these kinds of rides. I was petrified standing in line for this at Busch Gardens but I went to conquer my fears. Well, I wound up riding Montu FIVE times that day. I loved it!!
Easily one of the best inverted coasters ever built; I'd go so far as to say the best in the US. Great length, great theming, and that legendary Bolliger & Mabillard smoothness.

This is by far the best ride ever!! Let me tell u why. 1. It isn’t a scam when people tell u that it doesn’t drop. Sure it has lots of drops but your body doesn’t feel it due to how fast your going. I promise u I hate roller coasters with drops it gets my stomach all worked up for nothing. 2. It has an amazing view of the park. If u aren’t too sacred to open ur eyes and see there is an amazing view of the park

Other B&M invert to have a batwing is Afterburn at Carowinds in Charlotte, NC :) That invert is also one of the best in the world.

I really loved how for a split second, the ride make you think you were going to hit your legs on something, but when it started I just thought “oh heck, I’m screwed”
These rides are like 60 seconds. Not even a minute.

Anyways I like the layout of this coaster, and the themed areas every time the coaster went below ground were a nice touch. Interesting, like, upside-down cobra roll too at 1:30. (not sure what to call it)
