@@DasiaDoesIt it was fun and much needed alone time. I discovered my garage has a slope though as I skated backwards like oh I’m getting the hang of this just to realize I was gaining speed 😂. Had a couple crashes into the garage door. I was all geared up though so I had a blast. At least now I know how to turn and stop 😂
Thanks for the inspiration! I bought skates over a year ago, and they haven't been outside yet. I rented skates at a small rink while I was out of town and had one of my worst falls, so feeling a bit leery. Need to buy some butt pad shorts 😊
I love you Dasia, all of your tips and tutorials are really useful! I've Always loved roller skating and you make adore it even more ❤ Have a wonderful day beautiful!
Yes, i was doing this very thing yesterday, trying to dial in my trucks so i could get the transition down. Loosened and now i have enough movement to try it. Was struggling with too tight trucks, so thank you for clarifying this process 💚
I come from a rollerblade upbringing. When I first learned quads I was so scared of loose trucks, that I would make sure to tighten them to kingdom come. After about a year, I just finally loosened them back to where they should be and oh my god. My skate game quite literally leveled-up. Like a whole new world opened up for me.
Whoa I can't wait to try this! Fell on my butt tonight at my local indoor park 😂 hopefully this will help!! I didn't think about the difference in weight on my skates apart from side to side so this is gonna help me in my mission to do the little spinney turn around 😂 thank you for the top tips 🤘
I didnt even think about adjusting my trucks, I didnt know I could!! I have really bad problems staying focused on videos too but yours is easy for me to follow, thank you so much for this I cant wait to try tightening up my trucks and seeingbhow that helps my balance etc!
I am skating on a similar surface to the one in your videos, and wondering what durometer wheels you have. Mine are 78A and I feel like I want to move to 83A so I can do 3-turns a little easier. (I used to be a figure skater, so this roller skating this is a little different!) Thanks!
@@DasiaDoesIt I am thinking about getting 83A wheels… the 78A feel like they fight me, so I have to hop some moves, even after adjusting my trucks. I do really like your videos and mindset, so thank you for those. 🤗🤗
What do you recommend for trucking? Mine are pretty tight usually, I'm not used to loose trucks, and always tighten them back up, but My trucking really sucks, Do you think looser trucks would help?
So I have a dilemma... First of all, I got my first pair of skates ever like 2 weeks ago and knowing the theory with you before hand and practicing without skates yet was a game changer, I was controlling them pretty well by day 3 But now I have a weird struggle, I want to try and skate outside (my wheels are hybrid) but I panic, I can't move and just stan there, scared to roll just like I do indoors and I don't understand why??? I thought "well since I got good control, I'll try on a wider space" but got totally freaked out for some reason... Any ideas why this can be? Or am I just crazy?😂 It's so frustrating, honestly...
Because concrete and the thought of falling is very scary. But a normal feeling to have. Depending on how crunchy the concrete is that you’ll be skating on could factor into that fear. You’re going from a smooth buttery floor to a surface with more texture now. Hybrid wheels are fine but if it helps I recommend using a super soft big squishy wheel outside to minimize the vibration you’ll feel in your feet until you feel more comfortable and confident.
So dasia when you skate in a rink obviously the rink is smooth soyou can just slide your skates to transition, but outside its really hard for me to spin and transition, is that because my trucks are too tight? I've loosened them but maybe I could loosen them more?
that may be because of how soft your wheels are or the ground you’re skating on. outdoor wheels will be softer and have that grip to keep you on the ground whereas when you’re skating with indoor wheels in polished rink you can get away with having more slide/less grip for your spins
Hey Dasia! I love your videos! Thank you for your time doing this :) just a quick question: I skate outdoors with soft wheels but I feel I cannot control my skates (besides being a beginner) it s like i cant control them in terms of spinning, like my wheels are going too fast if that makes any sense. Is that a problem of how tight my trucks are or is there anything else I should adjust? Thank you in advance❤
I like the trucks loosened but the trucks them selves keep falling off. I skate outside so the bumps slowly make them unloosen and eventually make my whole wheel fall off. How can i keep them loose but not so loose that my wheels wont fall off. Can you help?
I be driving and turning thinking about ooh my inner edge..or my outside..like my car is a big skate
Love this.
😂❤
I just love you Dasia. I just finished my skating practice tonight. You inspire me. I love how graceful you are when you skate.
I appreciate you and I am so excited for you! How was your practice tonight?

Thank you for making this so simple to understand!
Before my skates came in, the first thing I did with my rental skates was to adjust the trucks and check the wheels. I am a little OCD though 😂.
thanks to finding your videos i went back to try learning skating and im improved so much! thank you!

I did lend my tool to a couple of skateboarders, who were having a tough time witht the rental skates. It felt like a community service 😁

78a are a little to gummy for me on this surface! How do you like it? I usually use or 85A or 92A.

Could I please have the link for the skates you are holding in the video? The wheels are so pretty.
These are Moxi's :-) - amzn.to/3ROSn0a
How loose can you go? Like should they wobble when you hold the boot up or is that too loose?
is there anyway to tighten your trucks without a skate tool?

Try using lock tight with brand new nylon nuts.
