    Bjorn, was the car equipped with the additional HV battery heater? That is an option not available before 2021 IRC - in the German options list it's called "erhöhte Heizleistung".

    • @andresloorits7194
      @andresloorits7194 2 роки тому +3

      In all nordic countries this "erhöhte Heizleistung" is standard option, and was always there since 2019!

    Hi Bjorn, I have a 2019 Audi Etron 55 that has been updated to 85.7 kW Recall 93M3, I now drive it in the summer about 400 km at 100 km per hour. Perhaps you could do a range test with an older Etron gotta do with the update :)

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  2 роки тому +4

      400 km at 100 km/h? I don't think so. At 100 km/h on the speedometer (95 km/h GPS speed), the range should be around 350 km in summer. You probably had tailwind and downhill.

      @@bjornnyland I also own a range updated 2019 e-tron.
      What he's saying is true, but you need the right wheels on the car (not 21") and to drive smart. But the car can do it.

    Did it matter that the new Etron outside temperature was -1.5?

    is it not how much kwh you get in 40 min or 30 min charge time is the fastest ? I4 did 59,293 kwh in 30 minuts. this raise my question , what is the numbers for de other ones. but sin soc an temp is essensial. this will only be for the fun of it.

      The Kia did around 57.6 kWh in 30 min and the etrons around 62.7 kWh

      The magic of the Ur e-tron is that it still has a ratio above 2:1 (kWh : min) at a very high SOC because of it slow drop above 80%
      Most EVs that can charge above 200kW will drop below this 2:1 formula much earlier than the e-tron.
      Therefore for me, this is the only relevant metric to compare charging speed.
      The time to SOC comparison is good for the show but has no real meaning as it does not take into account the different battery sizes
      Range added is a whole different story and we all know that the Ur e-tron is a bystander here.

    The proof is in the pudding he he ..
    On my typical trip from home to Kristiansand I start with 100% and arrive Ringdalsskogen with 35%. I then get 143 kw from start. I then charge to 80% and drive to Lillesand. I arrive Lillesand with 20% and chage to 80%. Now I get as high as 153 - 156 kw. (S60 Sportback 2021 mod). Are there any difference from 55 to S60 battery wice?

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  2 роки тому +1

      I don't know about battery size on 55 vs 60. But what I know for sure is that 55 *never* went past 151 kW during my range tests, Geilo tests and 1000 km challenge.

      Supposedly the S (your 60) has got SDI battery.
      I have one that was built in 03/21 = should be SDI but still see the LG charging curve
      @Bjoern - 55 & S - only you freaks in Norway call it 60 ;-) have the same battery = 86,5 kWh

    The etron beat the i4 to 71%, and both etrons beat the i4 to 80% (despite the fact the i4 has smaller battery and faster speed potential, the etron charge curve still king to 80%!) WTF happened to the I guess strategy is with i4 leave at 65%-70% I guess, with etron still worth to charge to 80% (and you can charge to 100% if you need). EV6 at 81%??? Still EV6 was quick to 90%! (though, frankly, I would have stoppped most cars at 70-75% and with the EV6 that would have been a quick stop, but I wouldn't go past 80% with the EV6 unless you had to. (again, with etron, I'd charge t9 70-80% and go from charger to charge in quick 15-20min stops. I'd like to see EV6 v Model S in a 1000km race, actually?

    To make it honest the Audi’s are charging much quicker! They are faster even at the 85% mark, because the battery of the Audi is much bigger! You should actually not checking the percentage but the amount of electricity stored in the battery in a certain period. Just my perception. Have a peaceful day. ☮️

      There's no way we'd get a Bjørn a day if he had to do that much post processing. He can only race announce what's already in the video clips. (Although I do agree that range gained would be the most relevant stat.)

      @@audivisual True but it does kinda depend on what you want. In charging comparisons of Vehicles I do not really care for how many kWh are charged but rather how long I have to charge to go a certain distance. But in the end the way he does it is fine too as we can check for ourselves with the data he provided.
