My husband and I were together for 33years but were married for27, he passed away only 3 years ago. I took care of him for 24 years , I didn’t want him in a nursing home. When I started having heart attacks I had to put him in a center. Well I had him brought home to care for him . I miss him so much I find myself wishing for him more and more every day. I cry daily.. I still thank GOD I had the time I had with him. This song really helped me to know I did the right thing to care for him myself. God took care of him so I could still love him in our own way. He was a good man who never complained about nothing. I watch him take his last breath. I believe we will see each other again and continue our love if it’s God’s will.
So sorry. You will indeed see him again in Heaven.

The producer of this song did a very good job. Excellent mixing/mastering, you can hear Al's voice like he's in your head.
The late great Willie Mitchell produced, engineered, and played organ on that classic Memphis sound as he co-wrote many of Al's greatest songs along with the also late legendary Al "human metronome" Jackson who also played the drums...

I left my apartment one sultry summer night to take a ride for some ac and a cool drink. As I pulled away I realized I left this song on repeat and a bit loud on my stereo. "Is a mellow sweet song and I'll be home in a couple hours" I thought as I sang it, rolling through the night. I put it on the jukebox at the Halfway House and sipped my drink. It led to a soulful groove that followed as I made my way across several towns through the warm night air, collecting others in a caravan of searchers seeking somewhere to mellow with the night. We landed lakeside at a place that closed their doors but didn't make us leave, wanting the night, the vibe, the soul, to keep on grooving. I somehow managed to play that Al Greene version everywhere I went every night, and it always fit perfectly.
At some point I found myself at the Halfway House playing it on the jukebox again and realized it was two weeks ago that I went out for a drink and a little ride. I went home and as I walked in to the building an hour after I left, two weeks later, what did I hear but Al Greene singing this song, loud yet gentle and sweet. It had been repeating nonstop for two weeks. My door was unlocked as usual when I wasn't going to be gone long, and any neighbor was welcome to come in to hang, and could've turned the music down or off, we were all friendly if not actual friends. But not only did the reverend greet me as I returned an hour later, two weeks gone by, but not one person in the building complained. Behold, the power of sweet sweet soul.

LA 10th anniversary Of course Al Green a request from my husband and bright lights at stage. Al says happy anniversary to the couple and adds oh dot it’s you I did not recognize you with clothes on. He and my husband studied religion together. Often seeing each other at a club next door while I was workin. The most embarrassing night for me but these 2 just laughed nodded and he went right into song and my husband went into the most loving dance of our 10 years. That was50 years ago and l still dance but usually with clothes On and still love Al
Time slips away and goes fast only if you are wasting it. Try this experiment: Tell yourself you are going to write a book in a year, and every day you will write 5 pages. Dont worry about it getting published or how good it is, just write a book 5 pages a day every day for a year. I absolutely guarantee you 100% when that year is over it's going to seem like 10 years and your mind will be utterly blown away by how much you wrote. My point being is USE time, don't like it skip town on you. Why do you think grade school to High school seemed like a million years? Because every day you were going to school and accomplishing so much
